1. Whilst Lewis Devine was over here recording his new album that will be out in the summer, we
caught up with him to see how he was doing… and more importantly to get the gossip on all the
rumours we’ve heard about him.
Last time you were here Lewis you confessed to being single didn’t you? Now we’ve seen you have
been telling us lies as we’ve seen and heard all about you and the not so ‘mystery girl’ Amelia
Curwen, would you care to explain? ‘Yes, yes I admit I did although things weren’t serious enough
for me to come out of the open through a magazine interview. I and Amelia were good friends for a
very long time and things just happened and I am very glad they did as she has been there for me
through everything.’
How is the new album coming along then? Very good actually, considering everything that has
happened I really did not expect everything to run as smoothly as they have. I’m sure you’ve heard
the struggles I’ve been through in the past year and if you don’t mind I’d like to take this moment to
thank Amelia, my friends and family who have been there for me throughout it all. Things are really
looking up for me and I hope the album turns out as big a success as the last with all the hard work
and effort I have been putting in it would be the best reward ever. Music and performing has
changed my life I don’t know where I’d be without it.’
Is there any specific inspiration/motivation behind the new album that you’re recording at the
moment? We cannot wait for it to come out!
After the loss of the person that meant the most to me I just felt I needed to do something with
myself to make my Dad proud because there is no feeling like making your parents proud, although
mine aren’t here so see me I know deep down that they would be over the moon with my
dedication. My motivation has definitely got to be Amelia because she’s the one who’s got me out of
the house every day that I’ve felt down, she is the main reason that I am here… recording my second
album at the age of 18 and that is why there are multiple songs within my album about her as well
as my dad, my whole album is dedicated to them two and the impact they have had on my life.
So, we are in February now and you are currently recording your album. Have you any idea when
it will be out and ready for purchase?
Its funny you say that actually as I have been recording for a while now and received a phone call
this morning from my manager confirming that the album will be ready and out in the shops for
purchased by hopefully at the latest the 19th
June this year. I am very excited and this day can’t come
quick enough, I was so shocked at the success of my album earlier last year because I didn’t really
record the album hoping for people to be interested, I purely did it because it’s what I love and what
I want to do with the rest of my life, I was so overwhelmed and am very anxious to have that feeling
again. Also in June I’m playing at park life on Sunday the 8th
June which I really really can’t wait for,
fingers crossed the weather perks up by then for all my friends coming along to see me.
