El Salvador, and Honduras are fleeing
dangerous conditions in their countries.
*These children are entering the United
States through Mexico. They will be illegal immigrants in the United States without any form of support.
*These children will be forced to rely on government assistance.
7. Social Action Continued
*A certain segment of the population disagrees with the government’s stance of giving these children
amnesty.
*They hold the view that the country does not have the resources to take care of these children. Many
people also fear that they may be dangerous criminals.
*The previous image is of a group of Americans mobilized together in order to prevent the buses from
entering the processing station.
*By protesting and preventing the buses from entering the station, they have accomplished two goals.
1. They have forced the buses to go another route
2. They have brought national attention to their cause which may have an effect on the policy.
