In that role, Benson worked to significantly reduce Medicaid fraud and to hold health care providers accountable. 8. ON IMMIGRATION Our Federal government has an obligation to safeguard our borders and to uphold the laws of this country. The recent terrorist act in Times Square was yet another wake-up call. We must keep our borders secure. When the Federal government fails in its duty, the states must step in and act deliberately, responsibly, and fairly. If states are to assume, by default, the role of enforcing immigration laws, we absolutely must give local law enforcement the tools, training and resources they need to perform this additional duty.

9. ON IMMIGRATION And to the bleeding heart liberals who are denouncing the Arizona law, I ask, “Just how much of a burden is it to require immigrants to carry their papers? Aren’t you and I required to carry our drivers’ licenses?” If states are to assume, by default, the role of enforcing immigration laws, we absolutely must give local law enforcement the tools, training and resources they need to perform this additional duty. As your Attorney General I will work to protect the American Dream—the Florida Dream—for those who play by the rules. Laws must matter.

GOVERNMENT HEALTH CARE PLAN If the court rules for the Department of Justice, we will succumb to a massive government takeover of healthcare in the United States, a $2.5 trillion plan that will encumber our children and grandchildren with crippling debt, and an inevitable move down the slippery slope to socialism. If the court rules for the states, we can return to the drawing board and enact meaningful reform that will provide access to quality health care and affordable health insurance. .

15. LAW ENFORCEMENT As Attorney General, my mission will be to get government back to the basics—which means safeguarding our families, our streets and our savings. I will adopt a zero tolerance policy for gangs and gang-related activity. Lawsuit fears have discouraged Florida radiologists from offering mammograms, which may reduce the availability of the test and cause cancer to go undetected in Florida women. 63% of Florida radiology residents said they would not accept a fellowship in breast imaging due to the litigation climate.
