I qan gipek the bmief by the Nlmthemk Echl: ‘Tl produce a new
magazine or newspaper product which can be any style or
genre but it must be self financed through sales and
advertising. You must also produce your magazine for a
specified audience segment within the 16-25 age groups.”

                          The magazine will
                          be financed
                          through sales and
                          advertising!!

How did I come up with it?

           What does it mean?

The PCC
                  5 Golden Rules

  2. Nobody under 16 should be interviewed or
                   photographed
   3. Permission to be asked to take photos in
                    public places
4. Information taken from interviews must be
                written accurately.
          5.Research must be accurate!

How did they influence my magazine?

            Genre: Fashion
MASTHEAD – large
              trendy writing stands
              out, image covering
              over it.

         ISSUE NO. and PRICE
         Price reasonably high - ÂŁ3.50
         – mines in the middle of this
and the low cover prices of
         ÂŁ1 as it is ÂŁ2.

         SELL LINES – alliteration used
         to entice reader mine uses
                            ,
         exclusive sell lines and some
         alliteration – ‘student to
         success’

           MAIN IMAGE – quite big
           overlaps the
           masthead, main focus of
           the page, entices reader
custom and make them want to
TITLE – large writing IMAGE- stands
stands out, covers one whole
out, secondary focus page primary focus
point. point.

ARTICLE – quite long but
seems readable as it
only covers one page
with the image on the
other – similar to my
mock up plans.

Mock up process
Why did I decide to do mock ups?
What did I find out from them?
      Were they useful?

            custom
‘professional’ Mock Ups
‘girly colours

audience’
‘font
readable’
‘right amount
of girliness
and
sophistication
’
‘like the text
to image ratio’

 However

 ‘looks like a newspaper article’
‘colour scheme too happy for the article.’
‘nice and simple layout’ However

‘colours represent blood and sweat put into it’ ‘too busy’
‘like the break down of the article’ ‘font blurry’
‘language and tone appropriate’ ‘columns too wide’
‘emotional response to image’
MY IDEAS
          Content - Features:
Article 1: ‘What glen amlokd clmen bacj amlokd!’
Article 2: ‘In it qlmth it?’
          Article 3: ‘Stodekt tl Soccenn!’

          Stylistics - Images:
Article 1: 2 images in the middle of page, one
showing a fashion item then, and the same
                 fashion item now
Article 2: 1 image on the first page with the title
                   underneath it
Article 3: 1 image on the first page with the title
                     above it

       Profit: ÂŁ7,798.02
           For just the first
issue, therefore, there will be an even
bigger profit when it is out there
            longer meaning...
       There will be more money:
        To produce more issues!
To hire even better high standard
journalists and staff etc. To meet the
      Northern Echo standards!!

Where does the income come from?

Why have I opted for an advertising only income model?

                     custom
Conclusion
Overall, my magazine is a common interest, as there is
many fashion magazines on the market!!
However mine is different, therefore, fills a gap in the
          ,
market due to it featuring handmade clothing and is
more for a high educated audience.
My expenses are reasonable and I still earn a profit
from my magazine. It funds itself through
advertising and the cover price therefore, Northern
Echo don’t need to fork out money for my magazine!!
