13. THE TUBETHE TUBE
It is a light rail line over 13 kilometers long that connects the districts north of
the city of Brescia to those of the south- east, passing through the historic
center and using a fully automatic system .
Today there are 16 trains that can carry up to 8500 passengers per hour in
each direction . Seventeen stations total
Brescia, with 194 thousand residents , it is the smallest city in Europe to have
its subway , whose history is long and debated. The work began only in 2003.

In 1930s it started to produce PCB (polychlorinated biphenils) toxic chemicals.
Caffaro didn't respect the environment and it seriously contaminated fields and
water.

35. THE CASTLETHE CASTLE
The Castle of Brescia is a fortitude of medieval epoch castled on the hill Cidneo,

The complex of fortifications is one of the greatest of Italy, and it covers completely the

Lake Iseo is wedged between the

The rock carvings of Valcamonica ( UNESCO site since
1979) constitute one of the largest collections of prehistoric
petroglyphs in the world.
UNESCO has recognized more than 140,000 figures, but
new findings have gradually increased the total number of
recordings cataloged, perhaps up to three hundred
thousand .
The rock art in Vallecamonica it is marked on the rocks about
2000 in more than 180 locations, including 24 in common .
The incisions were made over a period of time of eight
thousand years, until the Iron Age ( first millennium BC )
50. BagolinoBagolino
Bagolino is a mountain village, center of winter and summer resort also
known for its carnival. It has kept largely intact the ancient medieval
urban structure : old stone houses , ornate by wrought iron and
connected to each other by underground passages.
The area produces one of the most characteristic alpine cheese , the
Bagòss , mature cheese with distinctive and intense flavor.
51. The Bagòss is a specialty unique and inimitable. It is a cheese whose
typical production area is the town of Bagolino, in the province of
Brescia.
CHEESE and SALAMI
The province of Brescia has been for a very long time the heart
of the cattle trade, and today, the meats that are produced are
of the highest quality.
The production of salami refers to a tradition that is now lost,
based on a popular wisdom passed on from father to son and
from generation to generation .

52. The “Cotechino” is made with pork, traditionally made
by the preparation of other meats, using a lot of fat in
addition to finely chopped rind that gives the sausage
a characteristic gelatinous consistency.
It's a typical winter dish and appears on the tables of
Brescia during the Christmas season, often
accompanied by lentils and sometimes polenta.
