Case Study Guideline
       Due Session 12 – April 14
    Select a struggling reader to conduct a case study

    Attain background information

    Administer Observation of Student Behaviors

    Administer two assessments:

      •   Reading Diagnostic Assessment such as DAR

      •   Informal Reading Assessment (Phonic Survey, FCAT Mock Test, Monthly
          Assessment, FAIR, etc.)



    Important Factors to look at:

      •   School Attendance

      •   Has the student been previously retained?

      •   Home Environment

      •   Parental Involvement

      •   Does the student attend before/after school tutoring

      •   Grades

      •   FCAT Scores

      •   PSAT or SAT Scores

      •   Success Maker Data

      •   FAIR Data



Once you have collected all your data, write your report. The report must include the
following:

   1. Background information

   2. Visual Interpretation of Results
3. Summary of information attained

4. Recommendations (minimum of 5 recommendations for each assessment)
