(Major Paper) The musical field has always held a great interest to me. Since I was young I knew I would find a career in this field. When I listened
to music I would always focus more on the background musical elements rather than the lyrics themselves. I would note how well the beat and lyrics
coexisted with each other. Just the aspect of how someone could translate lyrics into a working beat and create a product that would be a perfect blend
of lyrics and musical elements.
Even now I notice how I constantly critique the music I listen to. It 's to the point where I can tell if the music an artist is using the beat effectively or
not. This ability that I 've developed over time by listening to countless sounds and analyzing them. I believe music has the ability to convey all sorts
of emotion. Whether the emotion is joy and happiness or sadness and despair through rhythms, harmonies and the lyrics music shows it. The effect that
music can have on our emotions is greater than we realize, as it can bring people to tears or bursts of laughter.
The visual images that music and songs are able to create together are amazing. Music can easily take you back to an old memory. It lets me revisit

I researched another article online and encountered one that may actually be a bit intimidating. Three notes I kept in mind from this article are,
hours can be unpredictable and that night and weekend are common. Sound engineers need to be flexible as their hours may depend on the

Even though my current job is in the field of customer service and not broadcasting or music production, it still involves communication. I currently
utilize this skill at ACE when I interact with customers and will do the same at an audio production position when I give advice to vocalists and

If some of my first few jobs are making demos for bands, I want those demos to be as good as possible since that is one of my biggest advertisements.
So when the band is paying for demo quality they will get better than demo quality no matter what that takes initially. The last reason is simply to
undercut the competition. Like I mentioned previously there are people in town who have been in the business for quite a while and are really good.
However If I can make recordings close to as good as they can for a fraction of the cost, I'm going to be getting business.
The number one thing that I want to do with my studio is record full length great quality albums for bands. This may or may not be my bread and
butter as far as recording goes but it is what I'm most interested in. The target price that I want to charge for this is $400 for a ten song album. This
is assuming that there will be a six hour block for drum tracking and eight hours total for tracking other instruments. If I'm planning to make $10 an
hour this leaves 26 hours for me to edit and mix. Anything out of the norm will be charged for accordingly. For instance if there are excessive
tempo changes in songs or the band wants to go extreme with layering guitars and vocals. Some pieces of gear that I will need for this application

What is your personal interest in the Audio Engineering Program? I've had a passion for music ever since I could remember. My dad driving me to
Elementary school while blasting the nineties rap from (2pac, N.W.A, The Notorious B.I.G, Dr. Dre and etc.) Along the way I transitioned into
different genres from Hard Rock to Techno and now forms of electronic dancemusic. When I put on my headphones, I don't just listen to the music, I

Everybody asks me what college I'm attending and when I say the falls; all of them say it's an incredible school and I earned my degree there. When I
mention the Audio Engineering Course, there is nothing but positive comments.
What experience do you possess in music and/or Audio Engineering
Since eighth grade I used Reason from Propellerhead Software. I had learned something new every day I open that program up. I love operating on
the Synthesizers (Mainly Malstrom) and developing my own sound. I recently have been using Ableton and trying out FL Studio. I like using Ableton
for its interface, audio clip drop ins, and mastery tools. Fl Studio I plan on using less since the interface is overly complicated.
I don't have too much experience, but I love learning. When I wanna learn to create a superior bass drum, or how to EQ low sine wave sub bass; I go
hands on first and see what I can create and do. At the point I need more help, I would review pages from Tim Dittman's "Audio Engineering 101" or
even YouTube.
