Paul Davis
Crime Writer
Philadelphia, PA
Dear Mr. Davis,
Dance music, Drug use and social deviance are all a part of the latest book Rave Culture: The
Alteration and Decline of a Philadelphia Music Scene by Dr. Tammy L. Anderson. Knowing
your interest in crime and gangs, I would like to personally reach out to you to review Dr.
Anderson’s. We feel that Rave Culture would be interesting to Philadelphia readers who love
night-life or want to become more informed on the matter. She is also scheduled to be hold a
book signing on Sept 25, 2010 at Barnes and Noble, 1805 Walnut Street, Philadelphia.
Dr. Anderson is an undergraduate professor at the University of Delaware and teaches
Sociology and Criminal Justice. In her book, she compares the Philadelphia rave scene with
that of other big cities in her ethnographic study and sheds light over the issues of personal
and collective identity in helping explain social change and what future generations have in
store.
Other publications that have covered Rave culture include The Philadelphia City Paper, Edge,
and CHOICE. It’s no surprise that they all finished with “rave” reviews.
Dr. Anderson will be available for interviews September 22, 2010. If you have any questions
or would like any additional information, please contact me at (817)-903-7227 or by email at
brooke.p.strother-1@ou.edu. Thank you for your time and consideration.

AUS Graduate finds success at race track

American University of Sharjah graduate, Rachel Hussein, has found her dream job
working as a Public Relations practitioner for a world-class motorsport facility of Bahrain
International Circuit (BIC) in Sakhir.
Hussein graduated the Department of Mass Communication in 2001 with a master’s
degree in Public Relations. After graduating, she worked at a public relations firm in her
hometown of Ajman for 10 years before she finally landed the job of her dreams, in the small
island country of Bahrain, two years ago.
“This job is everything I wanted, but nothing I expected,” said Hussein. “Working for
a corporation as big and well-known as BIC can be very stressful at times, but the end result is
always very rewarding and that makes it all worth it.”
Not long ago, Hussein was faced with a challenging situation when approximately
7,000 anti-government protesters flooded the streets the day before Formula One grand prix.
Armed with tear gas and stun grenades, police officers fought to keep order. The stand-off
resulted in the death of a protestor, who was believed to have been beaten and shot by police.
“I don’t even remember how I initially found out about the protests, said Hussein. “It
seemed like everyone was in panic or disagreement and all I knew was that people were
counting on me to calm the crisis without being manipulative. Someone had died for goodness
sakes!”
In the end her calmness prevailed, security pulled through and the race was held as
planned with no further incident.

The Jetstar Group is a network of value based carriers providing all-day, everyday low
fares across Australia, New Zealand and the Asia Pacific region. The Jetstar Group is also the
largest low cost carrier in the Asia Pacific by revenue and has flown over 75 million
passengers between its launch in 2004 and 2011.
Jetstar is now providing advertisers a chance to easily stand out to potential clients by
placing ads inside and outside the company’s airplanes in a new ad program called “Airplane
Advertising 2.0”.
This means, advertisers will be able to place their full-color ads on in-flight
magazines, overhead bins, sidewall panels, tray tables, the aircraft exterior, boarding passes,
and other areas. Jetstar will also make an audio announcement and hand out samples during
the flight.
Studies show that as high as 85-94% of all passengers can remember the brand and
message when presented in an aircraft throughout the duration of a flight. And with Jetstar
planes carrying up to 335 passengers per flight, this advertising is bound to make an impact.
Allow your company name to fly with us, and watch as your revenue soars as well!
