The main objective is the production of video film for Nigerian Primary school children. The contents of the adapted films are in line with the curricula of the relevant subjects. The video film went through all the developmental stages of production. Each stage of the developmental process involved both development tasks and empirical tasks. Thus ensuring production of a high quality and standard video film to teach and learn basic environmental concepts at the primary school level.

ABSTRACT
This study was designed to produce two research-based instructional videos for Nigerian primary
school children on Conservation of Natural Resources and Air Pollution. As a developmental
product research in Educational Technology with pre-production, production, and post-
production model, purposive sampling of 35 and 39 children actors were used. Two checklists
were used to validate the scripts by 20 experts and 100 pupils. An adapted Video Project Rubric
Scale and Achievement Tests were used to validate each of the video films at different stages of
development by 43 experts, 102 pupils (pilot tests), and 96 pupils (field tests). During the try-out
exercises of the videos, six hypotheses were tested using the t-test. Findings showed that the two
films were rated Grade A, and there were significant differences in the mean achievement scores
of pupils before and after watching the video films (t-cal > t-val, df 90, p< 0.05) and (t-cal > t-
val, df 98, p < 0.05).
The implication is that video films meet curricula demands to enhance learning. The involvement
of children as actors and presenters encouraged peer education. The two video films were locally
produced with illustrations and examples which are culture bound for Nigerian children.
