THE BOREDOM BUTTON

2. • Teenagers all over the World are bored. A study undertaken
by the University of Columbia found that Young people aged
12 to 17 who are frequently bored are 50 percent likelier
than those not often bored to smoke, drink, get drunk and
use illegal drugs, said the study by the university's National
Centre on Addiction and Substance Abuse.
• It has also been found that people who are ranked higher on
the boredom proneness scale perform worse in a variety of
different areas including career and education.
• Boredom is associated with various psychological
problems.

3. OUR PROBLEM
• Teenagers all over the world are getting bored.
• They sit there slowly wasting their lives.
• This can have the effects shown in the previous slide.

6. CUSTOMER PROFILE
John is 12, he has just started secondary school and spends a lot of time on his phone. He is
often bored. He was telling his friend about this one day, his friend mentioned to him that there
is this great new app that’s just come out called the Boredom Button. He said that the apps
aim is to rid the world of boredom. John thought this was a great idea and downloaded it.
Since that day he has never been bored again!!!

7. HOW OUR APP WORKS
The app suggests things to do based on the
weather, your location, events going on in the
local area and information on your interests
provided by you the first time you open the app.
This app is destined to rid boredom from the
world forever.

8. SIMILAR THINGS ON THE MARKET
• We have found several apps similar to ours the most similar being “The
Boredom Button”. However these apps are no where near as intelligent, just
suggesting random things rather than things based on you. These apps also
only have a few suggestions where as ours will have many based on your
interests.
