18. Animated India History Timeline from Ollie Bye
Indian History is extremely complex. Foreign invasions and internal wars limit
the life span and spatial extent of consolidated kingdoms. Much of its history has
been reconstructed from coins, inscriptions, epics, and foreign sources. The
video presents the complete timeline. Later slides capture snapshots

23. Genetic Findings about South Asians
From: Who We Are and How We Got Here: Ancient DNA and the
New Science of the Human Past by David Reich
The original inhabitants of South Asia
were hunter-gathers, Farmers from Iran
migrated into northwest South Asia
around 9000 BC, They were probably
the creators of theIndus Valley
Civilization (IVC). They continued south
and interbred with the hunter-gatherers
to form the Ancestral South Indian (ASI)
population. In 5000 BC , nomads from
the steppes began migrating towards
South Asia. They interbred with Iranian
farmer immigrants to form the Ancestral
North India (ANI) population. The ANI
population spoke Indo-European
languages and called themselves Arya.
The ASI population spoke Dravidian
languages. The genetic evidence shows
that ANI males pated with ASI females
far more than ASI males mated with ANI
females. It is assumed this is because
the ANI population was dominant
because of their use of horses

The Delhi Sultanate was an Islamic empire based in Delhi that stretched over large parts of
the Indian subcontinent for 320 years (1206–1526). Five dynasties ruled over the Delhi Sultanate
sequentially: the Mamluk/Slave dynasty (1206–1290), the Khalji dynasty (1290–1320), the Tughlaq
dynasty (1320–1414),[7] the Sayyid dynasty (1414–1451), and the Lodi dynasty (1451–1526). It
covered parts of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and some parts of southern Nepal.

164. 10 Richest Indians
Another Covid-19 wave is sweeping across India and total cases now exceed 12
million. But the country’s stock market has shrugged off its pandemic funk to
scale new peaks; the benchmark Sensex is up 75% from a year ago. The total
number of Indian billionaires rose to 140 from 102 last year; their combined wealth
has nearly doubled to $596 billion.
Prosperity rules at the very top: The three richest Indians alone have added just
over $100 billion between them. Mukesh Ambani, who has successfully diversified
his oil and gas empire into fast-rising sectors such as telecom and retail,
reclaimed his spot as Asia’s richest person, with a net worth of $84.5 billion.
