This technology is commonly applicable at the boundaries of water and soil in case of beaches, river banks, river beds, offshore seabed, scour protection of toe of river embankments, breakwaters, seawalls, around any land and marine hydraulic structures, offshore wind energy towers and bed scour protection for intake and exits of pump houses. Concept Erosion of soil in any hydraulic environment at the boundary of water and soil takes place primarily due to hydraulic soil scour. This hydraulic scour takes place when pore pressure in the soil reaches beyond the sustainable levels of soil stability by its weight due to adjacent water that is in dynamic random motion. The dynamic motion of adjacent water causes the variations of pore pressures in the soil as part of natural or artificial hydraulic processes. So, scour reduction is the basic principle of this technology. Scour reduction in this technology is achieved by inducing flow energy dissipation using specially designed artificial deadweight SAB units. Consequent to the use of this technology and its resultant relatively calm flows, the accumulation and gravitational settlement of sediments around these artificial SAB units result protection of anthropogenic developments including habitation adjacent to the erodible or scourable boundaries of water and soil in any hydraulic environment. Existing methods of protection for soil erosion on the beaches, river banks, etc. are like the game between the nature and humans with sword by the nature and shield by the humans. What is SAB? (S)ediment (A)accumulator in (B)each of a coast, at (B)anks of enclosed water bodies like river, Lakes, (B)eds of any hydraulic environments and (B)oundaries around any land, marine and offshore hydraulic structure. “B” in the acronym represents the boundary between soil and water in all possible natural and anthropogenic processes. So, it is called SAB Technology. These artificial sediment accumulator units are called SAB Units. How it is Green and Green SAB Technology? Hydro-dynamically Green Resilience In dynamic traffic systems, green signal is an indicator of “Go Ahead” to indicate that there is no disturbance to moving vehicle. The artificial unit of this technology is like a Green Signal of dynamic hydraulic environments. It does not disturb significantly the adjacent hydraulic environments of artificial units.
