6. OBJECTIVES
• The main objective of CSR policy is to get down guidelines for the coal companies to
form CSR a key business method for sustainable development for the Society.
• Aims at supplementing the role of the government. in enhancing welfare measures of
the society supported the immediate and future social and environmental
consequences of their activities.
• CIL will act as a decent corporate citizen, subscribing to the principles of global
Compact for implementation.
7. THRUST AREA
• The CSR Programme will cowl the present parts of Special corporate plan (SCP) and
tribal Sub plan (TSP) for development of the SC and ST population besides
development components for the whole population
8. FUND ALLOCATION
• For subsidiaries of CIL, fund for CSR should be allocated based on 2 of average net
profit of the company for the 3 immediate preceding monetary years or Rs. 2.00 per
metric ton of coal production of previous year whichever is higher.
• For CIL (Standalone), fund for CSR should be allocated based on 2 of average net profit
of CIL (Standalone) for 3 immediate preceding monetary years or Rs. 2.00 per metric
ton of total consolidated coal production of CIL as a full of previous year whichever is
higher and
• The unspent amount in CSR budget during a specific year won't lapse and shall be
supplemental with CSR budget of subsequent years for CIL and its subsidiaries
9. SCOPE
• Eradicating hunger, poverty and malnutrition, promoting preventive health care and
sanitation and bringing out there safe drinking water..

• Promoting gender equality, empowering women,
• Ensuring environmental sustainability.

11. CONCLUSION
The above guidelines would form the framework around which the CSR activities would
be undertaken. every subsidiary company should have specific activities to adopt mostly
in their close vicinity of the projects extendable up to the affairs of the State to which it's
belonging. in case of CIL, it should cover the CSR policy at national level. This Policy will
supersede earlier policies regarding CSR and will acquire force with immediate impact.
