2. From this question I can see that
people do not read local magazines as
often as I would have hoped. Because
of this, I would like to slightly change
the conventions of local magazines so
my magazine will appeal to a larger
target audience. I wouldn’t want to just
have my appeal to just a niche
audience. I will add a glamorous feel to
my fashion magazine(and other
projects) to make it look more
international, yet still incorporate pieces
from my local area.
3. I can see from this question that the majority of people do think magazines are important for the
local area. I agree with this assessment as I think it generates revenue for local media businesses
and informs people of what is happening in the community. Because of this, I would like to
incorporate articles about local events and link those with local fashion in order to keep the target
audience interested.
4. From this question I can generate that 100% of people who answered my survey only sometimes
take notice of billboards in their area. Because of this, I would really like to make my billboard
stand out and attract attention by defying some normal billboard conventions. I will do more
research into billboard conventions and see what I could possibly change to make mine more
interesting and eye-catching. I will also think of the location of the billboard and where it would
generate the most attention. City center's and busy towns are probably best for this.
5. For this question I wanted to find out people
thought it would be that magazines have web
pages. I can see that the majority of people
only think it is Slightly Important, however
most magazine companies do have websites
with additional articles and interactivity. This
is a convention I would not like to break as
technology is very important and perhaps
people would find the magazine more
accessible if it was online.
6. The answers to this question, helped
solidify the age of my target
audience. The majority of the people
that took my survey were between
the ages of 16-20. However, I would
not like to just keep my magazine,
website and billboard segregated to
just this group of people. I would
also branch into the 21-25 and 26-30
age categories. I think by doing this,
my magazine will have a larger
audience but will still appeal to all of
the people that will buy it.
7. Once again, this question assisted with making my target audience clear. My magazine would
be female orientated but again, I would not like to segregate my projects to this gender only. I
will incorporate the use of male models also and have articles and local male fashion. This is not
a convention which is often popular as most popular magazines focus on one gender only,
however I would really like to break this usual convention.
8. For this question, I wanted to determine what I should focus on mainly on for my webpage. From this I
can see that my main concern should be ease of use and navigation. I will make sure my website page
isn’t difficult to use and is clearly presented. This will help people who are in a hurry and will encourage
people to come back and use the site again, therefore I will not lose any audience.
