Two Towers Vs Harry Potter Comparison
Lord of the Rings: Two Towers vs. Harry Potter: Prisoner of Azkaban Comparison
In the two novels, Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and Harry Potter: The Prisoner of Azkaban, by J.K. Rowling, there is a distinct relationship that
is created through the idea that there are the chosen individuals are the only ones that can save the world.
The first novel, Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers is a novel generally focusing on uniting В

A lot of the characters abilities still remain unknown as of yet, because their skills and knowledge have not been pushed to their limits for their true
nature to be discovered. In Lord of the Rings, the hero Frodo Baggins does not have any magical powers, or is well known at all except his
outstanding ability to never give up, unlike in Harry Potter who is recognized and famous. Despite his lack of heroic stature, he is well liked

important qualities as a hero because without his ability to see all people as equals Sam would have never shown the dedication to Frodo that would
have saved his life on countless occasions. For example, even when Frodo had turned his back on Sam for supposedly betraying him, Sam continued
on his journey behind Frodo only to find Frodo in a horrible predicament that required SamВЎВ¦s courage and dedication to help Frodo be freed by a

The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers Archetypes
In The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (LOTR) Peter Jackson conveys many archetypes. Archetypes are the occurring patterns we see, that are
being used over and over throughout time. Gollum is one character we see grow throughout the film and is a big role throughout the movie. The
character Gollum in LOTR portrays the archetype of lost soul, and the situational aspect of good vs. evil. Having relatable experiences to Gollum is
recognized on how obsessed he is with the ring, and will temptation overcome him.
Gollum is one of the characters we see throughout the movie. He may not be the main character, but he definitely has a big role in the production of
the movie. Before time he was once known as Smeagol, a hobbit living a normal life, but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Evil. This portrayal represents the battle Gollum has between his good and evil self. Moments we see Gollum battling through the decision
whether or not to take the ring from Frodo. We see a more darker side of him speaking to take "precious" back. " Kill them both! And then we take
the precious... And we be the master!" States Gollum. (Jackson, LOTR) The way he is consumed over the ring brings his evil self out. Gollum has
to chose in the end what he wants more, the ring or being loyal to master. Other than portraying his evil self, we also see Gollum being true
Smeagol, helping and showing the destination to Mordor. Smeagol once being a hobbit knows that the ring is very dangerous and can change
personalities. When he comes to his senses he try's to do the good part in telling Gollum to get out of his head. "Leave now, and never come back!" (
Jackson, LOTR) Smeagol showed his strength to overcome the temptation to take the ring back for

The Two Towers Fodo Is A Hero Essay
Being known as a hero is a hard thing to comprehend. Whether you are risking your life to save the world, or you are a high school kid trying to
deal with the pressure of being a star athlete, you are always under pressure. Throughout the end of the novel The Two Towers Frodo and Sam are led
by Gollum to the gates of Mordor. Along the way Sam and Frodo meet Faramir, a man of Gondor, who gives them a place to rest. After their time with
Faramir Gollum leads Sam and Frodo to the stairs of Cirith Ungol, a secret passageway into Mordor. Once up the stairs, a spider–like creature named
Shelob attacks Sam and Frodo. Sam escapes, but watches as Frodo is captured by Orcs and taken to a cell. True Legend starts off with a boy named

When Sam says: "Never leave your master, never, never: That was my right rule. And I knew it in my heart. May I be forgiven!"(Tolkien 414), it
shows that he is having a hard time deciding what to do. This is where Sam is searching for what is right. The whole point of him and Frodo
coming to Mordor was to destroy the ring. Now that Frodo is captured Sam has an urge to go after Frodo and forget about the purpose of them
being there in the first place. In Sam's mind, there are two things going on at this point. His first priority is thinking about how and if he will be
able to save Frodo, and his second priority is making sure the ring gets destroyed. These two priorities should be switched around because the right
thing to do would be to save thousands of people by destroying the ring, thus destroying all of the evil that abides in it. The reader can see this is the
decision Sam is going to make based on the last words of the quote, "May I be forgiven" (Tolkien 414). Though Sam is averse to his decision, he is
basically saying sorry to Frodo for leaving him, but he is only doing it for what is

Forest Of Fangorn
Setting: The first major setting of this book is in The Forest of Fangorn , where Merry and Pippin go to escape the Orcs that kidnapped them, there
they meet an Ent(a giant tree creature) named Fangorn and he gives them food and befriends them. At about the same time Aragorn and the rest of the
fellowship is also in The Forest of Fangorn, where they are being tormented by Saruman. Next the fellowship goes to Edoras, the Golden Hall of King
Theoden, after that they go to Isengard to confront Saruman. Now we see Frodo and Sam traveling to Mordor and on the way they see Gollum and
they ask him to lead them to Mordor. While Gollum is leading them they reach the Black Gate of Mordor, but the gate is heavily guarded so Gollum
shows them a different path. Gollum then leads them up Cirith Ungol and through the tunnels of Shelob. Frodo is captured and brought to the Orc
headquarters and this is the last setting in the book.
Plot: The book starts out as Merry and Pippin are being kidnapped by Orcs, they escape the Orcs and go through The Forest of Fangorn where they
meet Fangorn and he helps them. Meanwhile Aragorn and the rest of the fellowship are looking for Merry and Pippin in The Forest of Fangorn, when

Eiffel Tower
The Eiffel Tower is a puddle iron lattice tower located on the Champ de Marsin Paris. Built in 1889, it has become both a global cultural icon of
France and one of the most recognizable structures in the world. The tower is the tallest building in Paris and the most–visited paid monument in the
world; millions of people ascend it every year. Named after its designer, engineer Gustave Eiffel, the tower was built as the entrance arch to the 1889
World's Fair.
The tower stands 324 metres tall, about the same height as an 81–storey building. During its construction, the Eiffel Tower surpassed theWashington
Monument to assume the title of the tallest man–made structure in the world, a title it held for 41 years, until the Chrysler Building in ... Show more

The tower was much criticized by the public when it was built, with many calling it an eyesore. Newspapers of the day were filled with angry letters
from the arts community of Paris. The pig iron structure of the Eiffel Tower weighs 7,300 tones, while the entire structure, including non–metal
components, is approximately 10,000 tones. As a demonstration of the economy of design, if the 7,300 tones of the metal structure were melted down
it would fill the 125–metre–square base to a depth of only 6 cm, assuming the density of the metal to be 7.8 tones per cubic meter. Depending on the
ambient temperature, the top of the tower may shift away from the sun by up to 18 cm because of thermal expansion of the metal on the side facing the
sun.
Maintenance of the tower includes applying 50 to 60 tones of paint every seven years to protect it from rust. The height of the Eiffel Tower varies
by 15 cm due to temperature. In order to maintain a uniform appearance to an observer on the ground, three separate colors of paint are used on the
tower, with the darkest on the bottom and the lightest at the top. On occasion the color of the paint is changed; the tower is currently painted a shade
of bronze. On the first floor there are interactive consoles hosting a poll for the color to use for a future session of painting. The only non–structural
elements are the four decorative grillwork arches, added in Stephen Sauvestre's sketches,

Christian Themes In The Two Towers
The Two Towers by J.R.R. Tolkien is not often thought of as a Christian book. It is either viewed as a revolutionary fantasy book or an adventure
book; rarely do people think of the book as having Christian roots. During his life, Tolkien was a devout Christian, so these morals and themes can be
seen throughout his writing. By telling of the journey of an average fellowship, Tolkien tells a vast story with life lessons along the way. Rather than
focusing on the developments of a single character, Tolkien develops several characters throughout the book, so comparisons among these characters
offer valuable insight to human behavior. My initial thoughts after reading The Two Towers are of the depth of the world Tolkien creates. I have read

After reading The Two Towers while looking for Christian themes and morals in it, I feel as though I have gained more from the book. One thing
that stood out to me was the split personality of Gollum. He acts like he is Smeagol, his former self before being corrupted by the ring, to gain the
trust of Frodo and Sam, and he eventually leads the two into a trap and abandons them. Some parallels can be drawn from Gollum to the devil. We
are tempted to trust in what he has to say because it seems like he wants what is best for us, but in the end, he does not have our best interest in
mind. In the case of Gollum, he is only looking to get the ring back. Another part that stood out to me was the ring itself. Taken from the Dark Lord,
Sauron, it offers the wearer unlimited power. This lures many to wear it, thinking they will be all powerful. However, as seen with Gollum, prolonged
wear of the ring leads to tremendous self decay, physically and mentally. Even Bilbo, the protagonist of The Hobbit, experiences some personality
changes due to the ring. The ring stands for the sin in the world. Many types of sin lure people constantly throughout life: coveting, hating, and lying
are some of these. If one succumbs to sin, one will experience spiritual changes right away, then mental changes, then possibly physical changes.

The Eiffel Tower And The Tower
The Eiffel Tower As you know, the Eiffel Tower is one of the most prominent aspects and statues in France. This tall piece of beauty was built on
March 31, 1889. It 's made of more than 18,000 iron pieces. The man who designed it was Alexandre–Gustave Eiffel and when it was first built his
daughter climbed it and discovered there are 1,710 steps. Alexandre led the team that developed the plans and also designed the metal framework of
another landmark the statue of liberty. Paris, France, where the tower is located and it brings a lot of tourists, thus causing a lot of foot traffic. When
many people go to France, their main objective is to see the Eiffel Tower, as well as get a photo standing by it. "The tower is 1063 foot tall cast–iron
skeleton equipped with elevators that has spectacular aerial views of Paris." At the present time, "The Eiffel Tower was built for the International
Exhibition of Paris of 1889 commemorating the centenary of the French Revolution." (Corrosion Doctors, Eiffel Tower History). In 1889, an
Exposition Universal (World Fair) was hosted by Paris to mark the 100th year anniversary of the French Revolution. "More than 100 artists submitted
competing plans for a monument to be built on the Champ–de–Mars, located in central Paris, and serve as the exposition's entrance". (History.com,

Reoccurring Themes Of Evil In The Fellowship Of The Ring
The Merriam–Webster Dictionary defines evil as "morally reprehensible" and "causes harm". Some will debate that evil is an inherited trait, while
others will argue that evil is acquired over time. Throughout J.R.R. Tolkien's first part of The Lord of the Rings, "The Fellowship of the Ring", there
are reoccurring themes of evil and corruption, most of which surround the One Ring, and can vary depending on who possesses the Ring. While both
natural evilness and developed evilness are demonstrated, "The Fellowship of the Ring" suggests that evil is not inherited, but acquired over time. Evil
is prominent throughout "The Fellowship of the Ring". Shortly after Boromir suggests that they use the Ring against Sauron, Elrond responds saying
that the Ring, "is altogether evil" (267). The Ring was crafted with the sole purpose of evil. This is seen in the inscription on the Ring which says,
"One ring to bring them all and in the darkness to bind them" (50). This script shows that the ring was created to draw other to "darkness", which is
often used to symbolize evil. While the Ring itself is evil, it is the only truly evil thing in Middle–Earth: "For noting was evil in the beginning. Even
Sauron was not so." (267). Throughout "The Fellowship of the Ring", there is a close correlation between the one ring and evil, as Elrond says, "The
very desire of it corrupts the heart" (267). When Gandalf the Grey suggests that Bilbo leaves the ring behind before he goes on his journey, Bilbo

Film Analysis: The Citizen
The title of the film watched itself gives a story. The title "The Citizen" infers that it will be about somebody who goes through the journey of
becoming a citizen. The intended audience of the film includes adults to see the story of a man who started from nothing who rises the social and
economic ladders. The Citizen starts with the main character, Ibrahim, winning the green card lottery and being allowed into the United States one day
before the attacks on the twin towers in New York. Ibrahim lands in New York where he is interviewed by customs as to why he wanted to enter the

I felt that the story was well told but could have had more poverty and hardships shown throughout the film. I also felt like the court case seemed
too short and should have been better defended on the prosecutors' side to add effect and emotion to the film. My favorite part of the film was the
court case, even though I think it should have been longer. I felt the way Ibrahim answered the questions from the prosecutor and his lawyer were
very well said and amusing. "Maybe you should read the constitution before asking your questions." was one of the funny things that Ibrahim said to
the prosecutor. From this film, I learned how hard it can be for somebody to immigrate to the U.S. from a country associated with terrorism. This
impacts me especially because I see individuals daily who are obviously from the Middle–East and will now wonder how hard it was for them to get
here and if they have any trouble throughout their lives here in the U.S.. Nothing really surprised me in the movie except the homeless man stealing
everything of value in Diane and Ibrahim's apartment. I sensed the possibility but was still surprised that it happened. I feel that somebody in the
same situation would think twice before breaking the trust of friends who are trying to help you, who put a roof over your head and feed you. I felt
that one drawback of the film was the obviously low budget to make the movie. I feel like the movie could

The Destruction Of Nature In The Lord Of The Rings
"...Nobody Cares For The Woods...": An Analysis Of The Destruction Of Nature In The Lord Of The Rings "If it has passed from the high and the
beautiful to darkness and ruin, that was of old the fate of Arda Marred..." –J.R.R. Tolkien Literature has brought awareness to the issue of the
destruction of the environment over the past century. "The imagination's ability to capture this sense of holiness may also help in a revisioning of
the natural world, [in] a growing field of study called ecocriticism" (Brawley 292). Many of the writers of the century used this perspective to
change the views of the greater population. "For ecocritics, literature is a means to a paradigm shift... [which] replaces anthropocentric worldviews
with ecocentric worldviews, where the environment is viewed with respect" (Brawley 293). The awareness helps people learn that "...[they] are
living in an ecocrisis, where climate change, extinction of species, deforestation, and overpopulation are threats to our survival..." (Brawley 292).
One of the major people to take up this new form of criticism was J.R.R. Tolkien. The author always had an affinity for trees. He explains, "I am
(obviously) much in love with plants and above all trees, and have always been; and I find human maltreatment of them as hard to bear as some find
ill–treatment of animals" (Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien 220). "Tolkien's short story Leaf By Niggle... is... about trees. More specifically... a large poplar

9/11 Research Paper
So It was a sad moment for the people that lost their lives that day the day of September 9,2001 or a shorter word 9/11. The people that hit the two
Twin Towers and the Pentagon and one was going for the White House but there was a fight in the plane that was going to the White House. But
the plane was crashing in a field at Pennsylvania. So, every year at 9/11 they will have a memory for the people that died that day from the two
Twin Towers. So, if you will try to go too see the twin towers they are not there because of the 9/11 they did not try to rebuild it so they just put
water in the outside and there is trees too. So if you try to go there in the night you will see the light in the middle where it was. So the first attack
that the hijackers did was the two Twin Towers were the first to attack. The people didn't want to burn to death so they would just jump off and 200
people died from jumping off the building. So for the people that were in the two towers when the buildings were still the planes going to the Twin
Towers the people that were still there they would just burn to death. The first Twin Tower to get hit was at 8:45 am and the time that it was down at

Research Paper On London Tower
The London Tower is a magnificent work of architecture that has lasted hundreds of years. From somewhat humble beginnings as a mere base of
operations to keep the locals in check, it expanded to the most secure place in London, housing the Crown Jewels and important documents of state.
The Tower of London has a dark history, though. Countless tales of prisoners being captured and interrogated through less than civil means call the
Tower home. There are also accounts of murders, or speculated ones, as well, taking place within its walls. The most interesting one, in my opinion, is
the Tale of the Two Princes. It recounts two young boys in line for the throne being under their uncle's care at the Tower, before that uncle is made the

Examples Of Forgiveness And Reconciliation
The process involved in forgiveness and reconciliation can be very simple or very complex depending on the situation. One time my friend took
money from my wallet, I think it was a $20 bill and I caught him in the act. We were both in the car and I parked at the mall and I left the car for
about five minutes and when I was walking back I saw in reach into my glove box and take money out of my wallet. I was shocked and confronted
him right away. He said he needed money to pay for his brother back. Since he is a friend of mine I forgave him and just said he could just ask for
money and didn't have to steal from me. We are still friends and I still hang out with him on the regular but I don't trust him anymore. Trust is defiantly

The Amish are very religious and spiritual people who believe that forgiveness is more than a good thing to do but forgiveness is the thing to do. In the
Amish perspective the test of faith is action so forgiving their children's killers with hours of death really shows what kind of people they are and
is very inspiring. The way the Amish people responded to the killings was such a shock. One of the things I liked about that article was when they
said that religion was not used to justify rage but to inspire goodness, forgiveness, and grace. Even members of the community visited the gunman's
widow and parents. For the majority of us the process of forgiveness is a journey and may never happen so just the fact they forgave so quickly
was viewed as emotionally unhealthy to many. Forgiveness has a meaning of not holding a grudge and the Amish were very clear that it does not
make the shooter free from punishment. If he were to live the Amish people would have wanted him to be locked up but not for reasons of revenge
but for the purpose of protecting other children. Most people growing up learn about forgiveness and have experienced it one way or another.
People need to learn that forgiveness is an essential part of healing and is a process towards inner peace. Learning that forgiveness is an internal
process where you identify the hurt and analyze the situation as well as your emotions helps you rebuild a sense of safety and letting go of a grudge.
The whole process of forgiveness does not usually involve the offender, most of the time not at all until confronted. As where reconciliation is an
internal process where you have a talk with the offender to talk about various things such as what happened, each other's stories, viewpoints,

Essay On The Eiffel Tower
The history of the Eiffel Tower is one of a kind, because the Eiffel Tower itself is one of the most magnificent structures in Paris. The history of the
tower is vast, covering many parts of history, both internally and externally. A visitor of the Eiffel Tower should know everything about the tower from
inception until todays time period. Built in 1889 by Gustave Eiffel in celebration of the one hundred years since the French Revolution and the
celebration of the World's Fair. Interestingly, the contraction of the tower took two years, two months, and five days. The architectural design was
given to Eiffel et Compagnie, a consulting and construction firm owned by Alexandre–Gustave Eiffel, who often gets the credit for building the tower;
while it was actually one of his employees Maurice Koechlin, who came up with and created the concept of the Eiffel tower. I believe the Eiffel tower is
significant towards the history of Paris, since it was the most impressively built monument; representation towards the city in terms of symbolism and
strength in war–time or attack. During the early 20th century, the Eiffel Tower had been used as the first radio transmission station in 1903 and
transmitted the first radio program in 1925. Historically, the tower was the tallest building in the world, until 1930 when New York built the Chrysler
Building that is standing at 1,046 feet. Before the invention of electricity, the Eiffel Tower was first illuminated by 10,000 gas lamps, it was not until
1985 that the towers golden lights with 336 projectors using sodium bulbs to make an orange hue were implicated; in 2004 these golden lights were
replaced with more environmentally friendly ones. Interestingly, during the mid–1920s, a famous con–man named Victor Lustig wanted to scam
people using the Eiffel Tower as a scape–goat. He went to Paris in May 1925 and planned a scheme in that investors called "the big store". At last
Lustig sealed his gangster fate by doing a few con–man known things. First, Lustig somehow was able to get himself stationary that had the "official
French government seal" and "pretended to be a government official". By doing those two things, he managed to frame his way into the French

Warrior, a term that has been used throughout history to describe fearsome individuals whom fights towards one goal, victory. Often times, "warrior"

where there is a sense of respect and honor not only for the opposition, but for the individual themselves. Warriors have always been meant to protect
their home and people, and have done a successful job so far. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This code of honor may vary throughout different cultures, but the general idea stays intact, honor for whom your fighting against, whom your
fighting with, and the warrior themselves. In "The Code of the Warrior", written by Shannon E. French, she presents this quote, "Warriors,
however, are not sociopaths. They respect the values of the society in which they were raised and which they are prepared to die to protect" (6).
This quote itself depicts a major element of a warrior. One of which is respecting the values of their own society. They do not run around killing
people all day, they have morals which they abide to, which ultimately leads to a high level of respect towards a warrior. For example, if a samurai
commits an act that is deemed shameful or dishonorable, the samurai performs "Seppuku", or ritual suicide. These warriors are dedicated to take their
own lives for the sake of honor and pride in their

Fellowship Of The Ring Vs. The Two Towers
I remember when I first watched this epic trilogy. I was blown away by "The Fellowship of the Ring," and "The Two Towers" is my favorite book,
so I expected only bigger and better things from this film. In my younger years, I liked this movie better than its predecessor simply because of
The Battle of Helm's Deep. Now, however, I see that while "The Two Towers" is still a great movie, though it falls short of "The Fellowship of the
Ring." After a brief scene showing Gandalf's (Ian McKellen) fight with the Balrog in the first movie, "The Two Towers" opens where the previous
movie left off. Frodo (Elijah Wood) and Sam (Sean Astin) have left their friends to take the One Ring to Mordor on their own. Meanwhile, Aragorn

He wasn't given a ton to do in "The Fellowship of the Ring," but now that he gets the chance he shines. He once again embodies the courage, loyalty
and love that define Sam, but this time he takes everything up a notch. Another performer who has improved, though he was still great in the previous
film, is Mortensen as Aragorn. His character has all but embraced his destiny, and Mortensen shows us that. Heroism and leadership seem to surround
him because of this performance, making it charismatic and commanding. As in "The Fellowship of the Ring," the supporting actors all turn in fine
work here, too. Orlando Bloom is even better as Legolas, providing more depth to the character as his friendship with Aragorn and Gimli grows.
Speaking of which, Rhys–Davies is brilliant as Gimli, making his character more endearing and nailing his comedic moments. He's also great as the
voice of Treebeard, an Ent, making him sound suitably ancient and wise. McKellen once again embodies Gandalf, carrying himself with more
confidence and authority now given his character's promotion. Brad Dourif is great as the slimy, sniveling Wormtongue. Lastly, Bernard Hill excels as
Theoden, conveying a certain sense of desperation and regality in his

Tower Of London Research Paper
The Tower of London The Tower of London is a historic site, with a rich history. Having been around for more than a millennia, the Tower has been
involved in much of the history of England. The Tower of London has performed many tasks for the country, these ranging from palace, fortress,
prison, and even mint. In this paper, I shall cover a portion of the history of the Tower ofLondon, and delve into several specific stories about the Tower
of London. Construction of the Tower of London first began in the 1070's due to the invasion of England by William the Conqueror. The original
building was a single tower, and was used by William the Conqueror to subdue the people of London. Over time, the building became known as the
White Tower because... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, these improvements by William did not last long, as John, the brother of the king, rebelled and took control from William. John then
continued the improvements to the Tower. The expansions of the Tower continued with the addition of the Bell Tower and the Wardrobe Tower.
The Bell Tower held a bell at the top of the tower and was used to warm of emergencies, while the Wardrobe Tower, naturally, was used to house
clothes and jewelry. The next expansions did not happen until King Henry III began to build both the Lanthorn and Wakefield Towers in the 1200's.
The Lanthorn Tower housed a lantern in the top of the tower and was built to help ships navigate the Thames River. The Wakefield tower contained
the King's private room and was designed as a strongpoint for the Tower of London. After the completion of these two towers, King Henry III
continued the expansion of the complex with a new defensive wall and several more towers. Among the towers built was the famous Bloody Tower.
The Bloody Tower, as it is known today, was not originally known by this name. Originally, the tower was called the Garden Tower due to its
connection to an adjacent garden. Finally, with the addition of an elephant house, the improvements done by King Henry III were

What Is The Difference Between The Virtuous And Heinous...
The difference between the virtuous and heinous is the contrast in personal beliefs and morals on what the earth's purpose is. When a difference in
morals occurs, conflict or fighting may take place. In the movie Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers directed by Peter Jackson, Saruman, the main
antagonist, and Grima Wormtongue, Saruman's accomplice, bring together troops through convincing them to take revenge against Rohan. While this
is happening, Frodo, the carrier of The Ring, and Sam, Frodo's companion, conquer the uprisings of earth's surface which leads them to Mordor in order
to destroy The Ring. Ensuring to continue forward, this quest requires a strong mind. Both Frodo and Sam must bring themselves to trust Gollum, who
is constantly going through a self–vs–self battle. The use of courage may assist one to achieve such goals, and overall become a stronger person with
a widespread source of integrity. People of the corrupt don't truly understand the concept of loyalty and the courage that comes along with it.
Saruman's goal was to completely demolish the people that stood in his way of his devious acts. Cowardly enough, he couldn't do this alone and had
to form an army. Saruman says "The horsemen took your lands [...] Take back the lands they stole from you, burn every village" to his targeted
infantry in hopes they will take his side. This demonstrates how his armies were not joined by a force of loyalty but by manipulating them to seek
vengeance. Both Grima

Ghost Sightings In The 18th Century
There are many things in our world that we cannot explain. We've used religion, science, stories, and theories, anything we could come up with to
explain life's mysteries. One subject of interest that we are all still stumped on are things classified as paranormal. Paranormal activity is a very
debatable topic, with some saying ghosts and poltergeists are as real as you and me, while others try to explain the weird happenings as something
natural. Even if one believes in the paranormal or not, the subject is, to say the least, very interesting. All over the world, there are claims of supernatural
things going on; there are ghost sightings every day, especially around historical places, more specifically where mass killings or bloody battles have
taken place. One of these places that is famous for its ghostly visitors is the Tower of London, located in The London Borough of Tower Hamlets,
England. Not only is the Tower of London a very interesting place because of its ghostly guests, but it also serves as an important place in history.

Comparing The Building And Design Process Of Building An...
1. When building a structure to withstand an earthquake, there are many ideas and strategies necessary to consider in order to create a successful
building. In order to conserve resources and manage the limited building time effectively, I had to consider the most important areas to reinforce my
tower. For example, my group spent much of our time building reinforcements between joints and areas that would be under strain during testing
(such as the bases of each of our tower's floors). This focus on areas that would be more vital to the survival of our tower during testing proved to be
extremely important to my group because we were able to make much–needed last–minute adjustments and improvements to our tower with the excess
time that our efficient reinforcement design created. Another consideration that my group had to make when designing our tower was how to build the
structure sturdily enough to hold the required weight that our tower must carry during the tests. To do this, my group planned two rigid floors that
were reinforced with multiple sturdy supports comprised of straws and popsicle sticks. In addition, my group also secured our floors be securely
attaching each one to our tower's frame with rubber bands, tape, and string. Despite the challenges that these considerations presented during the
building and design process of the Earthquake structure project, carefully contemplating and observing each one proved to be a decisive factor in the

The Two Towers Archetypes
There are many patterns in this world, and as people go through life and experience things that most humans do, mankind adheres to many of them.
These patterns are called archetypes, and we see many of them portrayed in novels or film. By looking at the Lord of the Rings: the Two Towers
directed by Peter Jackson, one can see that the film follows many of the character and symbolic patterns that have stayed constant through millions of
years, two of which are the lost soul archetype, and the light versus dark archetype. The audience saw both of these archetypes connect to the basic
human experience of losing one's self and having to stand up for who you are against the evils of the world. The viewer finds the lost soul archetype

It was a war with Gandalf the White against Saruman and Sauron. In the movie, the scenes involving the members of the fellowship are mostly
light, however during scenes of Mordor, the orcs, Sauron, and Saruman, the lighting is very dark. This is meant to convey despair and ignorance,
two themes greatly embodied in the evil aspects of the film. In the dark side of the war, we see the orcs, Sauron and Saruman creating despair for
all that have not claimed allegiance to Mordor. They also showed ignorance as they destroyed the lands of the people of middle earth as well as
their kind. The viewer watches them demolish everything in their path to try and make sure that they no longer have anyone they don't want in
middle earth anymore. "But in the end, [it will be] only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass." The brilliant thing about the light
versus dark archetype is that the light always overpowers the dark in the end. It's a pattern that has been consistent for millions and millions of
years, and it definitely foreshadows the ending for the reader. This foreshadowing shows us that "a new day will come, and when the sun [does]
shine, it will shine out clearer." This tells us that the light side of the war will prevail and be as strong as ever. We notice this as the good people of
middle earth fight together against "the veiling shadow that [was glowering] in the East [took] shape." As this shadow expanded across the entirety
of middle earth, and "in the gathering dark, the will of the ring [grew] strong, the bonds of the light grew stronger, knowing that they would need to
face this war with all their might in order to win. After all, Sauron's goal is "to make his war" and to have it be the "last war that will cover all the
world in shadow." As the light side of the archetype in the world that Tolkien has created, they have the job of bringing hope

This is a case where Tolkien is writing Eowyn to fit with Anglo Saxon like culture of Rohan. Yet later we see that there is more to her character, to

even larger hole in the second building then it started to burn upwards from the point of impact. The fires in the buildings went out about an half an
hour after they were hit.(Is what the officials say about 9/11) Could two airliner planes really take down the twin towers? There is no way that a

In the debri three engines from a single plane should have been found along with all the other parts of the plane. But no one found any of the parts
of the plane anywhere. It is said that it takes a specially trained individual to fly that specific plane and the hijackers could not have possibly
known how to operate such a plane. The planes that were used to "take down the towers" were significantly longer than the part of the tower they
hit, meaning that you should have atleast been able to see about 20 or 30 ft of the plane. Considering that a Boeing 767 is 156 feet wide and 159
feet long. However, the north tower is about 99 feet including the inner core so yeah you would be able to see the plane hanging out at the point of
impact. https://youtu.be/D55l4afJeMc. Therefore two of the planes could not have taken down the twin towers without being seen. Dmitry, Baxter.

The Night
The building has erupted into a fury of unnatural swaying motions. Bright flames now rage around me as if they themselves are the tongues of
death trying to reach out, grasp me, and lick my last breath away with their suffocating smoke. I start yelling in a coughing voice, which is rapidly
being choked away by all of the smoke inhalation. I am praying that someone can hear my hoarse voice over the noise of the deafening angry flames.
The flames are reaching out towards me even closer and again I yell!
"Wake up! Wake up mylove!"
My eyes opened, my heart was pounding like a wild drum embedded in the deepest part of my chest, and I was being held and kissed by my wife.
"It was only a bad dream my love. You were screaming and turning in your sleep, but I am here to hold you and love all your bad dreams away."
I reached out and held her close to my heart. I felt the smoothness of her long light brown hair that is blessed with touches of red. I took in the heart
fluttering sight of her perfect elegant smile. My eyes then connected to hers like a magnet and I looked deep into her vivid silvery blue sparkling eyes.
The sparkle of her eyes is the truest reflection of her sparkling optimistic character. When she is in my arms our hearts beat the melody of love in
perfect sync. She has been my wife for five years now, but she never ceases to delight me. I put my lips against her ears and said, "You always take
away my fears and you always love all my troubles away."

Construction Of The Crystal Palace
The Crystal Palace can be described as a firm glass building that was initially made in Hyde Park, London, in order to be the home for the Great
Exhibition of 1851. It was known that "14,000 exhibitors from all around organized together in the 990,000 square foot exhibition space in order to
display models of technology that was developed during the Industrial Revolution." () It was created and designed by a man named Joseph Paxton
and is "three times bigger than St. Paul's Cathedral." () Once the exhibition was over, the palace was relocated to South London to a place known
named Penge Common at the top of Penge Peak close to Sydenham Hill. The Crystal Palace stood from 1854 until its demolition by fire in 1936. The
Eiffel Tower was built in Paris, France in 1889. The construction of the tower began in January of 1887 and was finished just in time to be an entry
arch for the World's fair in 1889. The World's fair was significant because it celebrated the 100th year anniversary of the French Revolution, which took
place in 1789–1799. The Eiffel Tower is known "as the greatest prominent artificial monuments in the world and as the most visited paid monument."()
The Eiffel Tower got the name from an engineer, by the name of Gustave Eiffel, whose corporation planned, designed, and built the famous monument
that still stands today. The Crystal Palace was originally built in 1851 in London. In January 1850 a team was created in order to choose a layout for

"It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were. And sometimes you didn't want to know

The reason I have chosen this extract to introduce my assignment is because I believe it nicely symbolises the thoughts that go though someone with
anorexia nervosa and those closest to them. After interviewing my cousin and speaking to her parents during and after their daughter's recovery, I
could see that they felt like the torture of watching their daughter starve herself to death would never end. Not only is the link between the mind and
the body most evident in someone suffering from anorexia nervosa, but it is also important to appreciate the detrimental consequences it will also have
on the family. Nevertheless, as this extract illustrates, with the right type of help, the darkness and isolation that an eating disorder brings can be
overcome, and recovery is possible.

Heating Towers : An Critical Component Of Many Processes
All about Cooling Towers
Mr. Richard Honora
Cooling towers are an critical component to many processes . They are used in the system where heat is needed to be released . It is released
through the evaporation process and are mostly found in industries such as oil refining, power plants, chemical processes and many different
processes where process cooling is needed. They also provide comfort cooling for large business building hospitals and also provides conditioned air
Cooling tower structures differ in size and design. They all supply the same thing. The cooling load is by the amount of heat that needs to be extracted
from a process. The cooling tower should be properly sized to reject this same equal amount of heat to the atmosphere.
Cooling towers reject heat through the natural process of evaporation. Warm recirculating water is sent to the cooling tower where a portion of the
water is evaporated into the air passing through the tower. As the water evaporates the air absorbs heat, which lowers the temperature of the remaining
water. This process is used to provide cooling to the remaining water stream that collects in the tower basin where it can be pumped back into the
system to remove more process or building heat allowing much of the water used to recycled to meet the cooling demand.
The amount of heat that can be rejected from the water to the air is directly relative to the relative humidity of the air.
There are three kinds of cooling towers based on

The Two Towers Gollum Quotes

on their way to the Evil land of Mordor where Frodo plans to destroy a ring that caused all of this evil to become all that it is. While reading The Two
Towers I have questioned the relationship between characters, evaluated the motives of Gollum, and predicted what will happen to the ring. When

while they do not. The reader knows that Gollum plans to overpower Sam and Frodo and steal the ring when he says "We promised: to save our

Two Towers Vs Harry Potter Comparison

  • 1. Two Towers Vs Harry Potter Comparison Lord of the Rings: Two Towers vs. Harry Potter: Prisoner of Azkaban Comparison In the two novels, Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and Harry Potter: The Prisoner of Azkaban, by J.K. Rowling, there is a distinct relationship that is created through the idea that there are the chosen individuals are the only ones that can save the world. The first novel, Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers is a novel generally focusing on uniting В ЎВ§Middle EarthВЎВЁ, a term used to describe the human world, to defeat the enemy forces of evil controlled by a character described as pure evil named NAME. A lot of the characters abilities still remain unknown as of yet, because their skills and knowledge have not been pushed to their limits for their true nature to be discovered. In Lord of the Rings, the hero Frodo Baggins does not have any magical powers, or is well known at all except his outstanding ability to never give up, unlike in Harry Potter who is recognized and famous. Despite his lack of heroic stature, he is well liked [1] ВЎV Archetype by Carl Jung [2] ВЎV The Characteristics of the Classical Hero and the Quest by those who know him, especially his servant, Sam, who Frodo sees as an equal and best friend. This could be addressed as one of FrodoВЎВ¦s most important qualities as a hero because without his ability to see all people as equals Sam would have never shown the dedication to Frodo that would have saved his life on countless occasions. For example, even when Frodo had turned his back on Sam for supposedly betraying him, Sam continued on his journey behind Frodo only to find Frodo in a horrible predicament that required SamВЎВ¦s courage and dedication to help Frodo be freed by a spiders cocoon. Without FrodoВЎВ¦s growing sense of a community, and developing friendships, it is possible that Frodo would have been able to gather the courage, or perhaps turned back when the times were too tough for him to handle on his own. • 2. The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers Archetypes In The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (LOTR) Peter Jackson conveys many archetypes. Archetypes are the occurring patterns we see, that are being used over and over throughout time. Gollum is one character we see grow throughout the film and is a big role throughout the movie. The character Gollum in LOTR portrays the archetype of lost soul, and the situational aspect of good vs. evil. Having relatable experiences to Gollum is recognized on how obsessed he is with the ring, and will temptation overcome him. Gollum is one of the characters we see throughout the movie. He may not be the main character, but he definitely has a big role in the production of the movie. Before time he was once known as Smeagol, a hobbit living a normal life, but ... Moments we see Gollum battling through the decision whether or not to take the ring from Frodo. We see a more darker side of him speaking to take "precious" back. " Kill them both! And then we take the precious... And we be the master!" States Gollum. (Jackson, LOTR) The way he is consumed over the ring brings his evil self out. Gollum has to chose in the end what he wants more, the ring or being loyal to master. Other than portraying his evil self, we also see Gollum being true Smeagol, helping and showing the destination to Mordor. Smeagol once being a hobbit knows that the ring is very dangerous and can change personalities. When he comes to his senses he try's to do the good part in telling Gollum to get out of his head. "Leave now, and never come back!" ( Jackson, LOTR) Smeagol showed his strength to overcome the temptation to take the ring back for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Two Towers Fodo Is A Hero Essay Being known as a hero is a hard thing to comprehend. Whether you are risking your life to save the world, or you are a high school kid trying to deal with the pressure of being a star athlete, you are always under pressure. Throughout the end of the novel The Two Towers Frodo and Sam are led by Gollum to the gates of Mordor. Along the way Sam and Frodo meet Faramir, a man of Gondor, who gives them a place to rest. After their time with Faramir Gollum leads Sam and Frodo to the stairs of Cirith Ungol, a secret passageway into Mordor. Once up the stairs, a spider–like creature named Shelob attacks Sam and Frodo. Sam escapes, but watches as Frodo is captured by Orcs and taken to a cell. True Legend starts off with a boy named Drew Robinson, who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When Sam says: "Never leave your master, never, never: That was my right rule. And I knew it in my heart. May I be forgiven!"(Tolkien 414), it shows that he is having a hard time deciding what to do. This is where Sam is searching for what is right. The whole point of him and Frodo coming to Mordor was to destroy the ring. Now that Frodo is captured Sam has an urge to go after Frodo and forget about the purpose of them being there in the first place. In Sam's mind, there are two things going on at this point. His first priority is thinking about how and if he will be able to save Frodo, and his second priority is making sure the ring gets destroyed. These two priorities should be switched around because the right thing to do would be to save thousands of people by destroying the ring, thus destroying all of the evil that abides in it. The reader can see this is the decision Sam is going to make based on the last words of the quote, "May I be forgiven" (Tolkien 414). Though Sam is averse to his decision, he is basically saying sorry to Frodo for leaving him, but he is only doing it for what is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Eiffel Tower The Eiffel Tower is a puddle iron lattice tower located on the Champ de Marsin Paris. Built in 1889, it has become both a global cultural icon of France and one of the most recognizable structures in the world. The tower is the tallest building in Paris and the most–visited paid monument in the world; millions of people ascend it every year. Named after its designer, engineer Gustave Eiffel, the tower was built as the entrance arch to the 1889 World's Fair. The tower stands 324 metres tall, about the same height as an 81–storey building. During its construction, the Eiffel Tower surpassed theWashington Monument to assume the title of the tallest man–made structure in the world, a title it held for 41 years, until the Chrysler Building in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The tower was much criticized by the public when it was built, with many calling it an eyesore. Newspapers of the day were filled with angry letters from the arts community of Paris. The pig iron structure of the Eiffel Tower weighs 7,300 tones, while the entire structure, including non–metal components, is approximately 10,000 tones. As a demonstration of the economy of design, if the 7,300 tones of the metal structure were melted down it would fill the 125–metre–square base to a depth of only 6 cm, assuming the density of the metal to be 7.8 tones per cubic meter. Depending on the ambient temperature, the top of the tower may shift away from the sun by up to 18 cm because of thermal expansion of the metal on the side facing the sun. Maintenance of the tower includes applying 50 to 60 tones of paint every seven years to protect it from rust. The height of the Eiffel Tower varies by 15 cm due to temperature. In order to maintain a uniform appearance to an observer on the ground, three separate colors of paint are used on the tower, with the darkest on the bottom and the lightest at the top. On occasion the color of the paint is changed; the tower is currently painted a shade of bronze. On the first floor there are interactive consoles hosting a poll for the color to use for a future session of painting. The only non–structural elements are the four decorative grillwork arches, added in Stephen Sauvestre's sketches, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Christian Themes In The Two Towers The Two Towers by J.R.R. Tolkien is not often thought of as a Christian book. It is either viewed as a revolutionary fantasy book or an adventure book; rarely do people think of the book as having Christian roots. During his life, Tolkien was a devout Christian, so these morals and themes can be seen throughout his writing. By telling of the journey of an average fellowship, Tolkien tells a vast story with life lessons along the way. Rather than focusing on the developments of a single character, Tolkien develops several characters throughout the book, so comparisons among these characters offer valuable insight to human behavior. My initial thoughts after reading The Two Towers are of the depth of the world Tolkien creates. I have read other... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After reading The Two Towers while looking for Christian themes and morals in it, I feel as though I have gained more from the book. One thing that stood out to me was the split personality of Gollum. He acts like he is Smeagol, his former self before being corrupted by the ring, to gain the trust of Frodo and Sam, and he eventually leads the two into a trap and abandons them. Some parallels can be drawn from Gollum to the devil. We are tempted to trust in what he has to say because it seems like he wants what is best for us, but in the end, he does not have our best interest in mind. In the case of Gollum, he is only looking to get the ring back. Another part that stood out to me was the ring itself. Taken from the Dark Lord, Sauron, it offers the wearer unlimited power. This lures many to wear it, thinking they will be all powerful. However, as seen with Gollum, prolonged wear of the ring leads to tremendous self decay, physically and mentally. Even Bilbo, the protagonist of The Hobbit, experiences some personality changes due to the ring. The ring stands for the sin in the world. Many types of sin lure people constantly throughout life: coveting, hating, and lying are some of these. If one succumbs to sin, one will experience spiritual changes right away, then mental changes, then possibly physical changes. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Just like humans, objects and buildings need a skeleton too. This is known as the structure. Bridges, amusement parks, chairs, and many other objects that surround us, have structures, if they didn't they wouldn't be able to stand. • 9. The Eiffel Tower And The Tower The Eiffel Tower As you know, the Eiffel Tower is one of the most prominent aspects and statues in France. This tall piece of beauty was built on March 31, 1889. It 's made of more than 18,000 iron pieces. The man who designed it was Alexandre–Gustave Eiffel and when it was first built his daughter climbed it and discovered there are 1,710 steps. Alexandre led the team that developed the plans and also designed the metal framework of another landmark the statue of liberty. Paris, France, where the tower is located and it brings a lot of tourists, thus causing a lot of foot traffic. When many people go to France, their main objective is to see the Eiffel Tower, as well as get a photo standing by it. At the present time, "The Eiffel Tower was built for the International Exhibition of Paris of 1889 commemorating the centenary of the French Revolution." (Corrosion Doctors, Eiffel Tower History). In 1889, an Exposition Universal (World Fair) was hosted by Paris to mark the 100th year anniversary of the French Revolution. • 10. Reoccurring Themes Of Evil In The Fellowship Of The Ring The Merriam–Webster Dictionary defines evil as "morally reprehensible" and "causes harm". Some will debate that evil is an inherited trait, while others will argue that evil is acquired over time. Throughout J.R.R. Tolkien's first part of The Lord of the Rings, "The Fellowship of the Ring", there are reoccurring themes of evil and corruption, most of which surround the One Ring, and can vary depending on who possesses the Ring. While both natural evilness and developed evilness are demonstrated, "The Fellowship of the Ring" suggests that evil is not inherited, but acquired over time. Evil is prominent throughout "The Fellowship of the Ring". Shortly after Boromir suggests that they use the Ring against Sauron, Elrond responds saying that the Ring, "is altogether evil" (267). The Ring was crafted with the sole purpose of evil. This is seen in the inscription on the Ring which says, "One ring to bring them all and in the darkness to bind them" (50). This script shows that the ring was created to draw other to "darkness", which is often used to symbolize evil. While the Ring itself is evil, it is the only truly evil thing in Middle–Earth: "For noting was evil in the beginning. Even Sauron was not so." (267). Throughout "The Fellowship of the Ring", there is a close correlation between the one ring and evil, as Elrond says, "The very desire of it corrupts the heart" (267). I also felt like the court case seemed too short and should have been better defended on the prosecutors' side to add effect and emotion to the film. My favorite part of the film was the court case, even though I think it should have been longer. I felt the way Ibrahim answered the questions from the prosecutor and his lawyer were very well said and amusing. "Maybe you should read the constitution before asking your questions." was one of the funny things that Ibrahim said to the prosecutor. From this film, I learned how hard it can be for somebody to immigrate to the U.S. from a country associated with terrorism. This impacts me especially because I see individuals daily who are obviously from the Middle–East and will now wonder how hard it was for them to get here and if they have any trouble throughout their lives here in the U.S.. Nothing really surprised me in the movie except the homeless man stealing everything of value in Diane and Ibrahim's apartment. I sensed the possibility but was still surprised that it happened. The Destruction Of Nature In The Lord Of The Rings "...Nobody Cares For The Woods...": An Analysis Of The Destruction Of Nature In The Lord Of The Rings "If it has passed from the high and the beautiful to darkness and ruin, that was of old the fate of Arda Marred..." –J.R.R. Tolkien Literature has brought awareness to the issue of the destruction of the environment over the past century. "The imagination's ability to capture this sense of holiness may also help in a revisioning of the natural world, [in] a growing field of study called ecocriticism" (Brawley 292). Many of the writers of the century used this perspective to change the views of the greater population. "For ecocritics, literature is a means to a paradigm shift... [which] replaces anthropocentric worldviews with ecocentric worldviews, where the environment is viewed with respect" (Brawley 293). The awareness helps people learn that "...[they] are living in an ecocrisis, where climate change, extinction of species, deforestation, and overpopulation are threats to our survival..." (Brawley 292). One of the major people to take up this new form of criticism was J.R.R. Tolkien. The author always had an affinity for trees. He explains, "I am (obviously) much in love with plants and above all trees, and have always been; and I find human maltreatment of them as hard to bear as some find ill–treatment of animals" (Letters of J.R.R. The people that hit the two Twin Towers and the Pentagon and one was going for the White House but there was a fight in the plane that was going to the White House. But the plane was crashing in a field at Pennsylvania. So, every year at 9/11 they will have a memory for the people that died that day from the two Twin Towers. So, if you will try to go too see the twin towers they are not there because of the 9/11 they did not try to rebuild it so they just put water in the outside and there is trees too. Ah, just woke up for a brand new day. Hopefully I don't mess up in front of my new boss. When I got to work my boss showed me wear my desk was, and where it will be for a long time. I was working at my desk when this girl came up to me and said "Come with me". She showed me where the conferences were going to be, and also some other places. By the time I was done it was my lunch break, so I went to my favorite place Mcdonalds. I got a bundle of a double cheeseburger, chicken nuggets, fries, and a large Dr.Pepper. I went back and got ready for four more hours looking at a computer. I was talking to that girl because a plane just hit one of the twin towers when all of the sudden a plane from United Airlines Flight 175 hit my building. I hit the floor and I couldn't move. From somewhat humble beginnings as a mere base of operations to keep the locals in check, it expanded to the most secure place in London, housing the Crown Jewels and important documents of state. The Tower of London has a dark history, though. Countless tales of prisoners being captured and interrogated through less than civil means call the Tower home. There are also accounts of murders, or speculated ones, as well, taking place within its walls. The most interesting one, in my opinion, is the Tale of the Two Princes. It recounts two young boys in line for the throne being under their uncle's care at the Tower, before that uncle is made the new heir ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The way the Amish people responded to the killings was such a shock. One of the things I liked about that article was when they said that religion was not used to justify rage but to inspire goodness, forgiveness, and grace. The history of the tower is vast, covering many parts of history, both internally and externally. A visitor of the Eiffel Tower should know everything about the tower from inception until todays time period. Built in 1889 by Gustave Eiffel in celebration of the one hundred years since the French Revolution and the celebration of the World's Fair. Interestingly, the contraction of the tower took two years, two months, and five days. The architectural design was given to Eiffel et Compagnie, a consulting and construction firm owned by Alexandre–Gustave Eiffel, who often gets the credit for building the tower; while it was actually one of his employees Maurice Koechlin, who came up with and created the concept of the Eiffel tower. I believe the Eiffel tower is significant towards the history of Paris, since it was the most impressively built monument; representation towards the city in terms of symbolism and strength in war–time or attack. During the early 20th century, the Eiffel Tower had been used as the first radio transmission station in 1903 and transmitted the first radio program in 1925. Historically, the tower was the tallest building in the world, until 1930 when New York built the Chrysler Building that is standing at 1,046 feet. Before the invention of electricity, the Eiffel Tower was first illuminated by 10,000 gas lamps, it was not until 1985 that the towers golden lights with 336 projectors using sodium bulbs to make an orange hue were implicated; in 2004 these golden lights were replaced with more environmentally friendly ones. Interestingly, during the mid–1920s, a famous con–man named Victor Lustig wanted to scam people using the Eiffel Tower as a scape–goat. He went to Paris in May 1925 and planned a scheme in that investors called "the big store". At last Lustig sealed his gangster fate by doing a few con–man known things. When building a structure to withstand an earthquake, there are many ideas and strategies necessary to consider in order to create a successful building. In order to conserve resources and manage the limited building time effectively, I had to consider the most important areas to reinforce my tower. For example, my group spent much of our time building reinforcements between joints and areas that would be under strain during testing (such as the bases of each of our tower's floors). This focus on areas that would be more vital to the survival of our tower during testing proved to be extremely important to my group because we were able to make much–needed last–minute adjustments and improvements to our tower with the excess time that our efficient reinforcement design created. Another consideration that my group had to make when designing our tower was how to build the structure sturdily enough to hold the required weight that our tower must carry during the tests. To do this, my group planned two rigid floors that were reinforced with multiple sturdy supports comprised of straws and popsicle sticks. In addition, my group also secured our floors be securely attaching each one to our tower's frame with rubber bands, tape, and string. In the dark side of the war, we see the orcs, Sauron and Saruman creating despair for all that have not claimed allegiance to Mordor. • 33. The Night The building has erupted into a fury of unnatural swaying motions. Bright flames now rage around me as if they themselves are the tongues of death trying to reach out, grasp me, and lick my last breath away with their suffocating smoke. I start yelling in a coughing voice, which is rapidly being choked away by all of the smoke inhalation. I am praying that someone can hear my hoarse voice over the noise of the deafening angry flames. The flames are reaching out towards me even closer and again I yell! "Wake up! Wake up mylove!" My eyes opened, my heart was pounding like a wild drum embedded in the deepest part of my chest, and I was being held and kissed by my wife. "It was only a bad dream my love. You were screaming and turning in your sleep, but I am here to hold you and love all your bad dreams away." I reached out and held her close to my heart. I felt the smoothness of her long light brown hair that is blessed with touches of red. I took in the heart fluttering sight of her perfect elegant smile. My eyes then connected to hers like a magnet and I looked deep into her vivid silvery blue sparkling eyes. The sparkle of her eyes is the truest reflection of her sparkling optimistic character. When she is in my arms our hearts beat the melody of love in perfect sync. She has been my wife for five years now, but she never ceases to delight me. I put my lips against her ears and said, "You always take away my fears and you always love all my troubles away." A loud ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Construction Of The Crystal Palace The Crystal Palace can be described as a firm glass building that was initially made in Hyde Park, London, in order to be the home for the Great Exhibition of 1851. The construction of the tower began in January of 1887 and was finished just in time to be an entry arch for the World's fair in 1889. The World's fair was significant because it celebrated the 100th year anniversary of the French Revolution, which took place in 1789–1799. The Eiffel Tower is known "as the greatest prominent artificial monuments in the world and as the most visited paid monument."() The Eiffel Tower got the name from an engineer, by the name of Gustave Eiffel, whose corporation planned, designed, and built the famous monument that still stands today. Tolkien Whole person care assignment – Theme: Emotional health connects to bodily health: Mind– Body medicine *Contents of interview included in an attachment Introduction "It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were. And sometimes you didn't want to know the end... because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it's only a passing thing... this shadow. Even darkness much pass." – The Two Towers' by J.R.R. Tolkien The reason I have chosen this extract to introduce my assignment is because I believe it nicely symbolises the thoughts that go though someone with anorexia nervosa and those closest to them. After interviewing my cousin and speaking to her parents during and after their daughter's recovery, I could see that they felt like the torture of watching their daughter starve herself to death would never end. Not only is the link between the mind and the body most evident in someone suffering from anorexia nervosa, but it is also important to appreciate the detrimental consequences it will also have on the family. Nevertheless, as this extract illustrates, with the right type of help, the darkness and isolation that an eating disorder brings can be overcome, and recovery is possible. • 39. Heating Towers : An Critical Component Of Many Processes All about Cooling Towers Mr. Richard Honora Cooling towers are an critical component to many processes . They are used in the system where heat is needed to be released . It is released through the evaporation process and are mostly found in industries such as oil refining, power plants, chemical processes and many different processes where process cooling is needed. They also provide comfort cooling for large business building hospitals and also provides conditioned air Cooling tower structures differ in size and design. They all supply the same thing. The cooling load is by the amount of heat that needs to be extracted from a process. The cooling tower should be properly sized to reject this same equal amount of heat to the atmosphere. Cooling towers reject heat through the natural process of evaporation. Warm recirculating water is sent to the cooling tower where a portion of the water is evaporated into the air passing through the tower. As the water evaporates the air absorbs heat, which lowers the temperature of the remaining water. This process is used to provide cooling to the remaining water stream that collects in the tower basin where it can be pumped back into the system to remove more process or building heat allowing much of the water used to recycled to meet the cooling demand. The amount of heat that can be rejected from the water to the air is directly relative to the relative humidity of the air. There are three kinds of cooling towers based on ... • 40. The Two Towers Gollum Quotes Imagine venturing across a land full of evil and obstacles too treacherous to mention. You encounter some help but not much; yet have a long way to go before you reach your destination. In The Two Towers, Gandalf along with Aragon, Pippin, Merry, Legolas, Gimli, and the Ents battle hoards of Orcs as they make their way to Isengard to stop the evil of Saruman. Frodo and Sam with the help of Gollum, a creature who desires the ring, are on their way to the Evil land of Mordor where Frodo plans to destroy a ring that caused all of this evil to become all that it is. While reading The Two Towers I have questioned the relationship between characters, evaluated the motives of Gollum, and predicted what will happen to the ring. When Gandalf and the group with him went to visit Theoden, a king with lots of power over the land, it seemed to me at first that they perhaps did not know each other. As the meeting progressed it became more and more apparent to me that they... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Gollum is more of a self–centered creature. All he cares about is the ring and will do anything to get it. As the reader we can see that Gollum is smart for accepting the chance to lead Frodo and Sam because he has the upper hand. He knows the territory he is about to lead Sam and Frodo into, while they do not. The reader knows that Gollum plans to overpower Sam and Frodo and steal the ring when he says "We promised: to save our precious, not to let Him have it–never"(Tolkien 283). The precious Gollum is talking about is the ring. At this point Gollum is a hunter waiting for Frodo and Sam to come out into the open. When they do, BAMв є(Onomatopoeia), Gollum will be there to take the ring. Going back to what I said earlier. Gollum is very self–centered and acts with great duplicity.
