• •August 2, 1914 - Ottoman Empire (Turkey) and Germany sign a secret treaty of

• •August 4, 1914 - Germany invades Belgium, leading Britain to declare war on
Germany.

• Germany had two allies Austria Hungary in 1879 who they allied and Italy who
joined the Dual Alliance between Germany and Austria Hungary in 1892. Both
Austria Hungary and Italy were weak and useless had no power, leaving Germany
with power.
