What Is The Success Of Consumer Innovation In The...
Secondly, by involving consumers in this stage of the innovative process, the businesses usually
realize that although all innovative ideas have something to offer, not all of them are good enough to
be actually implemented. The intelligence of a business is to identify and separate the ideas by
selecting only the ones that are worth implementing. Every idea has its own set of benefits that it
offers and a set of problem that comes with it. There is a certain monetary or brand image benefit
associated with each innovative idea. Balancing all these factors, a business can decide if an idea is
worth investing the time and money or not. One common method that businesses use in this
situation is to collect consumer feedback while screening ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

It is a very viable solution to develop a prototype and go to the consumer market to get feedback on
it. Once that is done, further experimentation can be done to finalize the prototype the best suitable
for the consumer needs. By going through the process of experimentation, the organizations like
Whatsapp decide if a particular idea is suitable for them at a particular point in time or not (Muzrahi,
2014). Another suitable example here would be M16 rifle used in Vietnam War. The earlier version
AR–15 was reliable, while the M16 advanced version was not. The additional features added to it
were not as suitable for the situation as the original version. Due to lack of experimentation and
involvement of the end users in providing feedback about the product, it was an innovation that did
not work well for the makers. Moreover, the IDEO example could also explain the fact that creating
a prototype to get consumer feedback is very important for the innovation idea to be successful
(Scarbrough 2017).
Thirdly, Commercialization is mainly about the sales volume and the marketing of the product
through the collaboration of individuals with different expertise. Indeed, from a business point of
view, an idea would be suitable if it generates a return on investment. Therefore, at this stage,
consumer involvement in the innovation process becomes unnecessary. If an idea cannot be
commercialized, investing time and energy on the same will not be a very wise idea for any

Smart Social Media And Product Development
One of the popular examples of companies that successfully integrated social media in product
development is Quirky. Quirky is a community company that allows every user to join their product
development community. People in the community can suggest innovative ideas, provide feedbacks,
and vote for the best innovations. Quirky will then manufacture and distribute the product with most
votes. Given its high demand in the market, it has 1,174,402 people in the community and invented
over 291,600 products since 2009 (Quirky, 2016).
Starbucks also has its own large online community called "My Starbucks Idea". It offers a co–

VI. Effectiveness of Social Media in NPD
Social media creates value to any phase of product development process. It builds a customer–
centric organisational structure that increases the interaction and intimacy between the company and
its consumer. It has the capability to change the market structures and relations between market
participants profoundly (Piller, Vossen & lhl, 2011). Small companies usually prefer social media in
NPD to increase its market potentials and resources, stay competitive and be connected with its
consumers. Large organisation, similarly, used social media to improve the relationship with the
consumers and expand the user community. With social media technologies, companies can easily
monitor online communities, develop new communication channels, and enhance their
understanding on the customer needs (Rajagopal, 2013). Source of innovation can also be gathered
with relatively low investments. The network can even grow bigger when a social user recommends
the community platform to another user.
Adaptation of social media strategy can also enable knowledge flow across the

useful innovation because it helped in making healthcare available for all and affordable for all. The
well design model of business administration used by big industries to cut down the cost and making
the expensive technological services and goods available to mass is called "Disruptive Innovation''.
This process used in health care has changed the affordability and make it accessible to all general
people.

which has drawn attention from the world recently. This essay focuses on some key issues of
Apple's innovation. It begins with analyzing the key features of Apple Inc by Porter's five forces and

Speaking of management innovation, after Steve job's employment, Apple's management style is

Evaluation of Steve Jobs as a strategic leader
Steve Jobs is known to be eccentric when it comes to strategy and business because he strives to
become a market leader by dominating the competitors in customer loyalty, distribution and
coverage, perceived value, price, profit and promotional spending. This is evident when we compare
Apple and Microsoft because when Microsoft shows profit by sheer quantity, Apple competes
strongly with the quality of its products and services.
As an innovative leader, Steve Jobs is legendary which is reflected on his company motto "Think
different!" Rethinking, reinventing and revitalizing are the three main ways of doing business
according to Steve Jobs. Simplicity and innovation in terms of the product range gave Steve Jobs the
edge over other competitors. A well–known
example for this is the annual launch of new and updated versions of the iPod with a simple change
in colour, form–factor and memory capacity. His risk–taking approach to business is believed to be
unique making him an epitome of courage. His idea of self–belief and a vision enabled him to lead a
great career life.
He believes in investing in new innovative products and services that are built on existing
technologies to create a "customer and

Evaluating Health Informatic Systems
It is important to evaluate any health informatics system since it operates in the complexity of a real
world system with a multitude of interactions between system and human. Human and
organizational concerns are crucial in the development and implementation of a new innovation in a
health care setup. (Kaplan, 2001). Overall satisfaction both individual and organizational in a
specific setting proves that a new innovation that has been introduced is helpful and effective in an
organization. (Ash et al, 2000). However, some argue that there are no exact or superior ways to
evaluate a system. Global evaluation depending on specific setting or site of implementation is
paramount in multi dimension approach to analyse this complex interaction between system, man
and organization.
Evaluation of information system in general can be divided into pre development stage of a system
known as formative or post development of an established system also known as summative. This is
considered a practical distinction before we start an information system evaluation process. Besides
the complexity and immaturity; whether it is a pre or post development stage evaluation, we should
also study the time line of the evaluation process and the desired output that is to be measured since
evaluation can be time consuming and resource demanding. Thus, these must be accounted prior to
the evaluation process.
Secondly, choosing a methodology that measures the respective outcomes based on attitude,

The Innovative Process Of Innovation Essay
The Innovative process
Important lesson learned from innovative process
The innovation process is similar to evolutionary process. It is dynamically a process of
improvement and adaptation that gives the organization ability to survive in a business environment
and thrive. A good innovation process is proactive and not reactive and can have all or some of five
elements;
1. Recognition or identification of a problem or opportunity that can be pursued. This is in terms of
human aid provision.
2. Inventing a solution. This aids in addressing the problem recognized or seizing of an opportunity.
3. Development of innovation. This is done by creating plans and guidelines that are practical and
actionable.
4. Implementation of innovation. This is done in small phases and in controlled setting. It tests the
innovation to show how it compares to the process that already exists.
5. Adoption of innovation that is successful. This involves taking the innovation to a wider scale and
adopting it.
This process of innovation looks linear. This however might not be the case. Innovation stages can
be overlapping phases in which many innovations pass (Cantner, 11/10/2010). In reality the process
is iterative and nonlinear. Some innovations are discarded before they even get passed some stages
and later revived after a different application. There is no defined path for innovation. Most are
random and it takes moments of good or bad fortune to be successful. Innovation does not guarantee

Example Of Disruptive Innovation
Disruptive innovation was a term coined by Professor Clayton Christensen (A US Scholar and
Teacher) of the Harvard Business School in his 1997 book, 'The Innovator's Dilemma'. Professor
Christensen said, in order for a business to be disruptive, it must gain a foothold in a low–end
market (Christensen Institute, 2017). Disruptive innovation can be described as a specific way that
smaller companies can outcompete, and probably even destroy bigger rivals in the same industry.
Sometimes this could even be a corporate strategy to gain a foothold in industrial domination or a
greater market share.
Over the past few decades, there have been several kinds of disruptive innovations that have
changed markets globally, thus affecting our daily lives. For example the gratification of having cell
phones to make phone calls at any given place to the time when we need only our cell phone as the
single gadget replacing our camera, Walkman, recorder, alarm clock, torch, computer, telephone, TV
and much more. These transformations have transitioned into our everyday lives (SEIER CAPITAL,
2017).

However, not all the businesses that are disruptive are innovative. Clayton Christensen has classified

gain a foothold in a low–end market. When using a search engine to access information about
disruption or innovation, one may come across different variations of disruption and innovation.

Analysis Of Alexander Mann Solution's Innovative Strategy
Introduction
Innovation can be defined as the introduction of a new product, process or market by an
organization. According to Pearce & Robinson (2011), organizations are innovative when they
succeed in turning ideas into revenues. However, Petkovska (2015), states that it takes more than
ideas to be innovative, firms have to invest in their time, resources as well as technology in order to
bring the ideas into fruition. Firms must decide which type of innovation to focus on as there are
several types. The chosen innovation will determine if the firm would like to breakthrough the
market with a new product, service or redesign existing product or services. This paper is going to
analyze Alexander Mann Solution's innovative strategy in relation to the competition.
Types of innovation
Incremental and breakthrough innovation are two of the most commonly used innovation in the
RPO industry. Incremental innovation makes changes to the firm's already existing product or
service; breakthrough or disruptive innovation often disrupts the existing market with a new product
or service.
Breakthrough or disruptive innovation. According to Christensen, McDonald & Raynor (2015), a
disruptive innovation enters and disrupts an industry or a market. The new product or service
introduced is usually rejected by consumers, despite the low cost of the products or services. These
products or services do not follow the mainstream, rather create ambiguity in the market. Below is a

DISCUSSION
Method used by executives to encourage the role of innovation in a workplace
Any good manager will recognize the need to innovate and grows the business skills to increase
their creativity. Encouraging the utilization of innovation in a place of work, is crucial to attempt
and concede new things seeing that it facilitate the organisation for further opportunities in relation
with the businesses. "What works for whom under what circumstances?" Putting these words into
unpretentious, this question and the influence of "what works" section of the question essentially
demonstrates effectiveness of the apparatus, procedure, performance, processes, and methods of
innovation. Associates and individuals who manage and lead organizations generally concentrate on
and pay more attention on "what works." Therefore several of these efforts have created
dissatisfaction results because the methods to facilitate were applied with very modest or no
consideration for the individuals involved, associating "for whom" or the detailed of irreplaceable
conditions or perspective, stating "under what circumstances." For this reason when manager or

Innovation And Its Impact On Innovation
Innovation brings changes, and for bringing desirable and appropriate changes, a clear
understanding of innovation is vital. A plethora of discourses indicates what innovation is, but it
remains fuzzy because of contextual biases and disparity (Crossan, M. M., and Apaydin, M., 2010).
The literature of innovation, on the other hand, refers to innovation as a category covering a wide
spectrum of issues that include a source of change (cause), a changing process, and a changed state
(effect), which appears ambiguous because the cause, effect and the process in–between cannot be
the same. Ambiguity in understanding innovation as a phenomenon makes the process of innovation
arduous and uncertain. As a result, innovation occurrences in business and social contexts as and
when required appear uncertain especially when the exigence for innovation at all levels of social
life has been heightened by many folds, especially to face the challenges of the 21st century.
This study, thus, intends to investigate innovation determining (a) the meaning of innovation
representing people's present beliefs and ideas, and (b) an easily adaptable and acceptable process of
innovation that can help people in general to be innovative. In this process, this study accentuates
human factors representing different personal constructs associated with the innovation process. The
literature on innovation also confirms the significance of human factors in innovation occurrences

Difference Between Internal And External Crowdsourcing
According to several scholars (including Villarroel and Reis, 2010; Boudreau and Lakhani, 2013;
Carlson and Wilmot, 2006; Chesbrough, 2006a, 2006b; Byren, 2013; Yap, 2012; Howe, 2006, 2009;
Brabham, 2008b, 2009, 2013), the main difference between internal and external crowdsourcing can
be summarized as follows: i) the internal crowd (employees) is known to the firm; ii) the crowd can
be all employees of the firm, a subsidiary of the firm, or may also include partners and suppliers; iii)
the crowd is specifically used for problem solving or aggregating ideas for innovation purposes; and
iv) the crowd may also be anyone with internet or mobile remote access capable of participating in a
crowdsourcing contest and vote on the ideas of others.
Internal crowdsourcing is easier to implement in companies where social media acceptance is high
(Yap, 2012); crowdsourcing attempts within companies don't measure up to the external crowd
(Boudreau and Lakhani, 2013). Crowdsourcing forms such as idea marketplaces and idea jams lack
the capabilities and fall short to the external crowd 's full capacity. Boudreau and Lakhani (2013)
believes employees are discouraged from seeking challenges; Yap (2012) says that internal
crowdsourcing unveil innovations from employees which otherwise would not be captured. Carlson
and Wilmot (2006) emphasizes that every employee does in fact has the ability to innovate, and
must do so for their company to stay competitive. The desire for deeper exploration of

User input is not universally welcomed or indeed universally helpful
It can be said that there are many descriptions of the innovation process. Rothwell & Zegveld (1985)
view innovation as a process of interaction between the firm and its environment. "The overall
pattern of the innovation process can be thought of as a complex net of communication paths, both
intra–organisational and extraorganisational, linking together the various in–house functions and
linking the firm to the broader scientific and technological community and to the marketplace (p.

developed by users or actively contributed to by users rather than innovations developed by
manufacturers.
Von Hippel (1988) divides the innovation process in four stages; need identification, research and
development (R&D), prototype building, and application and commercialization. He mentions that
the user is involved in the first three stages and that hereafter the manufacturer commercializes the
product. The schematic view of his perception is illustrated in figure 1.
Existing literature denominates the benefits and positive sides of user involvement (e.g von Hippel,
1976, 1988; Woolgar, 1992). However it is said that user input is not universally welcomed or
indeed universally helpful. This essay will discuss the merits of user involvement in innovation by
elaborating the benefits and downsides in these first three steps of the innovation process. The
application and commercialization step will not be taken into account. Figure 1 User Involvement in

The Advantages of User Innovation supporting document
Introduction
As the term suggests, User Innovation describes innovation created by any form of user, in contrast
to the "traditional" innovation approach which focuses on the producer only. It forms a major part of
the current trend of Open Innovation, which is expected to become an essential part and standard in
most companies' innovation management within the next 10 years. Open Innovation in this context
means "the use of purposive inflows and outflows of knowledge to accelerate internal innovation,
and to expand the markets for external use of innovation, respectively" (Chesbrough, 2006). In
general, Open Innovation is a comparably new field of study defined in the late 1980`s, and research

The market share in year 5 of the Lead User's products reached 68%, compared to 33%. Finally, the
estimated sales are more than 8 times higher compared to traditional product development.
Reasons
One of the reasons for its success is the following: Lead Users, who are invited to Lead User
Workshops, have needs that are ahead of the rest of the market. Rather than market research, which
focuses on the average users, Lead Users reveal what the majority of the market will demand in the
future – even before Early Adopters do. Then, they help during the workshop to readily develop
products that are perfectly suited to this future demand. When doing this, they are not biased by
functional fixedness, which leads to the strong tendancy to create new product lines instead of
incremental innovations.
All in all, the Lead User method represents the perfect recipe to create an incredibly profitable
monopoly situation when launching the new product.

The Dynamic Capacity And The Asset Based View
The Dynamic Capabilities idea has been picking up ubiquity in the key administration in
management field. This idea because of it the way that it is new may not surely know thus the high
odds of the notion confounding numerous. In this manner, it is basic to examine the meaning of
element capabilities as brought out by Teece, Pisano, and Shuen in a working paper. The central
inquiry in administration field is the means by which associations accomplish and maintain an upper
hand in the market that is so radical and continually evolving. Therefore the paper looks to
distinguish different element abilities and how they influence the association 's execution. It will
likewise contrast the dynamic capacity and the asset–based view as Barney recognizes it. As
indicated by Teece, Pisano, and Shuen, a dynamic capacity alludes to organization 's ability to
incorporate, form and change interior and outer skills. They can help an association to accomplish
creative types of upper hand through joining, building and change of inside and outside skills, as to
react to the evolution in nature. Eisenhardt and Martin characterize dynamic capabilities in a
comparable way, i.e. with regards to accomplishing authoritative change, adjusted to the extreme
weight: in particular, these skills seen as business procedures that utilization assets – particularly the
processes of incorporation, rebuilding, procurement and discharge assets – to adjust or make
showcase changes. Dynamic capabilities are

Management System by Kaplan and Norton that Focuses on...
What you measure is what you get" – In the journal 'The Balanced Scorecard – Measures that drive
performance' by renowned professors, Kaplan and Norton (1992), a new management system was
introduced to a peripheral perspective economic industry. Past the industry era, traditional financial
performance measures such as return–on–investment and earnings–per–share were deemed no
longer competent in the ever–changing market. The view of focussing on either financial or non–
financial perspectives alone were regarded as one–dimensional and ignorant of other crucial factors
in both the company and the market.
In 1992, Kaplan and Norton introduced a revamped management system that focusses on not only
the financial measures of a company, but also the operational measures. This system comes after a
realisation that no single measure can provide a vivid performance target on the critical areas of a
business. The system provides managers the platform to view the business from four vital
perspectives; Customer, internal, innovation and learning, and financial perspectives.
These perspective are interdependent, they collaborate to form an efficient system that can track
flaws in the companies to improve and hence provides a clearer target for companies. The
companies view the perspective from customers objectively, by doing so they can understand what
customers want or do not want. This insight then allows the company to tweak on their internal
processes to provide such services.

relationship between firms and their IT department also take a new trend of collaboration called the

Innovation is the process by which organizations use their resources and competencies to develop
new or improved goods and services or to develop new production and operating systems so that
they can better respond to the needs of their customers. Innovation can result in brilliant success for
an organization. Apple's ipod has changed not only the music listening industry but also music
purchasing and now they are moving into the mobile phone industry.

Quantum innovations are likely to cause major change sin an environment and to increase
uncertainty because they force an organization to change the way they do business.
Incremental technological change represents a refinement of some base technology. Incremental
innovation refers to products or operating systems that incorporate those refinements. The evolution
of Intel's chip over time represents incremental innovation.
The introduction of quality management systems to auto manufacturing are examples of incremental
innovation. They improved the quality of cars and forced manufacturers to make incremental
changes in response to a new competitive environment. There is a major focus in incremental
innovation in today's business place. Companies are developing new methods to determine how
consumers use their products to determine everything from minor to major adjustments, add–on
products or design elements to further entice the consumer to purchase.
As you might expect, quantum innovation is relatively rare. Every once in a while an innovation
appears that commands the attention of an industry. These innovations create a cost or quality
advantage that shakes the foundation of their business. When this type of innovation occurs, it
usually sets off a period of intense competition among companies in an industry to develop a design
that will become the dominant model which others will copy. After the development of a

Radical innovation should present a new product, service, practice or solution that significantly
differs from previous experience. It usually comes with higher risks as there is no prior knowledge
and competences are low (Schilling, 2011:vi). Introducing of a third generation (3G) telephony
could be a good illustration of a radical innovation. 3G was launched with an increased bandwidth
that could not only transmit a voice, but support more diverse multimedia applications
(http://searchtelecom.techtarget.com). To switch from 2G to 3G the telecommunication service
required significant investment in development of relevant equipment and infrastructure, such as
larger device display, memory and battery capacity, etc. Besides, it was not quite clear how would
customers react to this innovation. So, companies and their managers, had to evaluate different risks
simultaneously, including technical achievability, reliability, costs, and demand.
Incremental innovation, on the other hand, does not need to be an exceptionally new or
revolutionary. It can be the same product, service or process with simple adjustments or minor
advancements (Munson and Pelz 1979). For example, difference between two generations of
iPhones – iPhone 6 and iPhone 7 – could be considered as incremental while improving camera

We Are Our Greatest Assets Essay
"People are our greatest assets (Tidd, J. & Bessant, J., 2016, p107)." People, especially those who
have high knowledge and capabilities, are doubtless a fundamentally utmost resource in an
innovation. However, putting the identically capable people in the two similar firms can lead to
significantly different accomplishments (Christensen, C.M., & Overdorf, M.. 2000). This is not only
caused by some subtleties between the two firms, but also the working environment–in other words–
innovative culture.
While processing and managing innovation, the particular innovated spirits and substance of a
company, including innovated values, beliefs, norms, company's structure and working
environment, is fostered and advanced. According to Margaret Rouse (2015), innovative culture
cultivated by a company's leader "generally subscribe to the belief that innovation is not the
province of top leadership but can come from anyone in the organization."
For seeking a dominant position while competing among a market, both tangible forces–including
people, equipment, and technologies–and intangible forces–like product designs, brands, and
reputation–are required to a company. Innovative culture in these, is an intangible force. As it
involved every employee in a company, innovative culture can set up a company's working spirit,
stir creative thoughts, motivate people to work efficiently, and empower a company's core
competency among the markets. Thus, creating and maintain an innovative culture

How to Make Large Chinese Companies More Creative
Gunpowder, compass, waterwheel, paper money, long–distance banking, the civil service and merit
promotion were invented by Chinese (Abrami, Kirby and McFarlan, 2014). Therefore, it could be
argued that China was a famous nation with creative power at the ancient and modern times.
Nowadays, however, many opinions supposed that most of the creative business scholars and
innovators were in west countries (Abrami, Kirby and McFarlan, 2014), while breakthrough
innovations were rarely seen in China. There are some different viewpoints about the reasons why
China cannot innovate. Lim (cited in Abrami, Kirby and McFarlan, 2014) argued that Chinese
companies' managers do not have creativity to the consideration of new ideas. The Chinese
government fails to take good protection of intellectual property rights leads to this situation
similarly. Furthermore, according to Miyazaki (cited in Abrami, Kirby and McFarlan, 2014),
Chinese education system which makes students absolutely concentrate on the test scores cannot
make Chinese teenagers become innovators. Based on these opinions, this essay focuses on the
creativity in large Chinese companies.
Under the circumstance about the backwardness of Chinese innovation development, the creativity
in large Chinese companies is exceedingly difficult. There are some reasons for this situation. Large

midlife crisis" and needed to change as a whole in order to still remain competitive (Jick et al., 2003,

What Is The Success Of Consumer Innovation In The...

  • 1. What Is The Success Of Consumer Innovation In The... Secondly, by involving consumers in this stage of the innovative process, the businesses usually realize that although all innovative ideas have something to offer, not all of them are good enough to be actually implemented. The intelligence of a business is to identify and separate the ideas by selecting only the ones that are worth implementing. Every idea has its own set of benefits that it offers and a set of problem that comes with it. There is a certain monetary or brand image benefit associated with each innovative idea. Balancing all these factors, a business can decide if an idea is worth investing the time and money or not. One common method that businesses use in this situation is to collect consumer feedback while screening ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is a very viable solution to develop a prototype and go to the consumer market to get feedback on it. Once that is done, further experimentation can be done to finalize the prototype the best suitable for the consumer needs. By going through the process of experimentation, the organizations like Whatsapp decide if a particular idea is suitable for them at a particular point in time or not (Muzrahi, 2014). Another suitable example here would be M16 rifle used in Vietnam War. The earlier version AR–15 was reliable, while the M16 advanced version was not. The additional features added to it were not as suitable for the situation as the original version. Due to lack of experimentation and involvement of the end users in providing feedback about the product, it was an innovation that did not work well for the makers. Moreover, the IDEO example could also explain the fact that creating a prototype to get consumer feedback is very important for the innovation idea to be successful (Scarbrough 2017). Thirdly, Commercialization is mainly about the sales volume and the marketing of the product through the collaboration of individuals with different expertise. Indeed, from a business point of view, an idea would be suitable if it generates a return on investment. Therefore, at this stage, consumer involvement in the innovation process becomes unnecessary. If an idea cannot be commercialized, investing time and energy on the same will not be a very wise idea for any ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

With such high percentage of consensus, it can be perceived that great numbers of enterprises will integrate social media strategy in their business process in the future. VI. Effectiveness of Social Media in NPD Social media creates value to any phase of product development process. It builds a customer– centric organisational structure that increases the interaction and intimacy between the company and its consumer. It has the capability to change the market structures and relations between market participants profoundly (Piller, Vossen & lhl, 2011). Small companies usually prefer social media in NPD to increase its market potentials and resources, stay competitive and be connected with its consumers. Large organisation, similarly, used social media to improve the relationship with the consumers and expand the user community. With social media technologies, companies can easily monitor online communities, develop new communication channels, and enhance their understanding on the customer needs (Rajagopal, 2013). Source of innovation can also be gathered with relatively low investments. The network can even grow bigger when a social user recommends the community platform to another user. Speaking of management innovation, after Steve job's employment, Apple's management style is successfully transformed from relaxed style to controlled one. Evaluation of Steve Jobs as a strategic leader Steve Jobs is known to be eccentric when it comes to strategy and business because he strives to become a market leader by dominating the competitors in customer loyalty, distribution and coverage, perceived value, price, profit and promotional spending. This is evident when we compare Apple and Microsoft because when Microsoft shows profit by sheer quantity, Apple competes strongly with the quality of its products and services. As an innovative leader, Steve Jobs is legendary which is reflected on his company motto "Think different!" Rethinking, reinventing and revitalizing are the three main ways of doing business according to Steve Jobs. Simplicity and innovation in terms of the product range gave Steve Jobs the edge over other competitors. A well–known example for this is the annual launch of new and updated versions of the iPod with a simple change in colour, form–factor and memory capacity. • 10. Evaluating Health Informatic Systems It is important to evaluate any health informatics system since it operates in the complexity of a real world system with a multitude of interactions between system and human. Human and organizational concerns are crucial in the development and implementation of a new innovation in a health care setup. (Kaplan, 2001). Overall satisfaction both individual and organizational in a specific setting proves that a new innovation that has been introduced is helpful and effective in an organization. (Ash et al, 2000). However, some argue that there are no exact or superior ways to evaluate a system. Global evaluation depending on specific setting or site of implementation is paramount in multi dimension approach to analyse this complex interaction between system, man and organization. Evaluation of information system in general can be divided into pre development stage of a system known as formative or post development of an established system also known as summative. This is considered a practical distinction before we start an information system evaluation process. Besides the complexity and immaturity; whether it is a pre or post development stage evaluation, we should also study the time line of the evaluation process and the desired output that is to be measured since evaluation can be time consuming and resource demanding. It is dynamically a process of improvement and adaptation that gives the organization ability to survive in a business environment and thrive. A good innovation process is proactive and not reactive and can have all or some of five elements; 1. Recognition or identification of a problem or opportunity that can be pursued. This is in terms of human aid provision. 2. Inventing a solution. This aids in addressing the problem recognized or seizing of an opportunity. 3. Development of innovation. This is done by creating plans and guidelines that are practical and actionable. 4. Implementation of innovation. This is done in small phases and in controlled setting. It tests the innovation to show how it compares to the process that already exists. 5. Adoption of innovation that is successful. This involves taking the innovation to a wider scale and adopting it. This process of innovation looks linear. This however might not be the case. Innovation stages can be overlapping phases in which many innovations pass (Cantner, 11/10/2010). In reality the process is iterative and nonlinear. Some innovations are discarded before they even get passed some stages and later revived after a different application. There is no defined path for innovation. Most are random and it takes moments of good or bad fortune to be successful. Innovation does not guarantee ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Example Of Disruptive Innovation Disruptive innovation was a term coined by Professor Clayton Christensen (A US Scholar and Teacher) of the Harvard Business School in his 1997 book, 'The Innovator's Dilemma'. Professor Christensen said, in order for a business to be disruptive, it must gain a foothold in a low–end market (Christensen Institute, 2017). Disruptive innovation can be described as a specific way that smaller companies can outcompete, and probably even destroy bigger rivals in the same industry. Sometimes this could even be a corporate strategy to gain a foothold in industrial domination or a greater market share. Over the past few decades, there have been several kinds of disruptive innovations that have changed markets globally, thus affecting our daily lives. For example the gratification of having cell phones to make phone calls at any given place to the time when we need only our cell phone as the single gadget replacing our camera, Walkman, recorder, alarm clock, torch, computer, telephone, TV and much more. According to Pearce & Robinson (2011), organizations are innovative when they succeed in turning ideas into revenues. However, Petkovska (2015), states that it takes more than ideas to be innovative, firms have to invest in their time, resources as well as technology in order to bring the ideas into fruition. Firms must decide which type of innovation to focus on as there are several types. The chosen innovation will determine if the firm would like to breakthrough the market with a new product, service or redesign existing product or services. This paper is going to analyze Alexander Mann Solution's innovative strategy in relation to the competition. Types of innovation Incremental and breakthrough innovation are two of the most commonly used innovation in the RPO industry. Incremental innovation makes changes to the firm's already existing product or service; breakthrough or disruptive innovation often disrupts the existing market with a new product or service. Breakthrough or disruptive innovation. According to Christensen, McDonald & Raynor (2015), a disruptive innovation enters and disrupts an industry or a market. • 29. Innovation And Its Impact On Innovation Innovation brings changes, and for bringing desirable and appropriate changes, a clear understanding of innovation is vital. A plethora of discourses indicates what innovation is, but it remains fuzzy because of contextual biases and disparity (Crossan, M. M., and Apaydin, M., 2010). The literature of innovation, on the other hand, refers to innovation as a category covering a wide spectrum of issues that include a source of change (cause), a changing process, and a changed state (effect), which appears ambiguous because the cause, effect and the process in–between cannot be the same. Ambiguity in understanding innovation as a phenomenon makes the process of innovation arduous and uncertain. As a result, innovation occurrences in business and social contexts as and when required appear uncertain especially when the exigence for innovation at all levels of social life has been heightened by many folds, especially to face the challenges of the 21st century. This study, thus, intends to investigate innovation determining (a) the meaning of innovation representing people's present beliefs and ideas, and (b) an easily adaptable and acceptable process of innovation that can help people in general to be innovative. In this process, this study accentuates human factors representing different personal constructs associated with the innovation process. The literature on innovation also confirms the significance of human factors in innovation occurrences (GII 2014 report, p. xvii) ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Difference Between Internal And External Crowdsourcing According to several scholars (including Villarroel and Reis, 2010; Boudreau and Lakhani, 2013; Carlson and Wilmot, 2006; Chesbrough, 2006a, 2006b; Byren, 2013; Yap, 2012; Howe, 2006, 2009; Brabham, 2008b, 2009, 2013), the main difference between internal and external crowdsourcing can be summarized as follows: i) the internal crowd (employees) is known to the firm; ii) the crowd can be all employees of the firm, a subsidiary of the firm, or may also include partners and suppliers; iii) the crowd is specifically used for problem solving or aggregating ideas for innovation purposes; and iv) the crowd may also be anyone with internet or mobile remote access capable of participating in a crowdsourcing contest and vote on the ideas of others. Internal crowdsourcing is easier to implement in companies where social media acceptance is high (Yap, 2012); crowdsourcing attempts within companies don't measure up to the external crowd (Boudreau and Lakhani, 2013). Crowdsourcing forms such as idea marketplaces and idea jams lack the capabilities and fall short to the external crowd 's full capacity. Boudreau and Lakhani (2013) believes employees are discouraged from seeking challenges; Yap (2012) says that internal crowdsourcing unveil innovations from employees which otherwise would not be captured. He mentions that the user is involved in the first three stages and that hereafter the manufacturer commercializes the product. The schematic view of his perception is illustrated in figure 1. What you measure is what you get" – In the journal 'The Balanced Scorecard – Measures that drive performance' by renowned professors, Kaplan and Norton (1992), a new management system was introduced to a peripheral perspective economic industry. Past the industry era, traditional financial performance measures such as return–on–investment and earnings–per–share were deemed no longer competent in the ever–changing market. The view of focussing on either financial or non– financial perspectives alone were regarded as one–dimensional and ignorant of other crucial factors in both the company and the market. In 1992, Kaplan and Norton introduced a revamped management system that focusses on not only the financial measures of a company, but also the operational measures. This system comes after a realisation that no single measure can provide a vivid performance target on the critical areas of a business. The system provides managers the platform to view the business from four vital perspectives; Customer, internal, innovation and learning, and financial perspectives. These perspective are interdependent, they collaborate to form an efficient system that can track flaws in the companies to improve and hence provides a clearer target for companies. The companies view the perspective from customers objectively, by doing so they can understand what customers want or do not want. This insight then allows the company to tweak on their internal processes to provide such services. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It usually comes with higher risks as there is no prior knowledge and competences are low (Schilling, 2011:vi). Introducing of a third generation (3G) telephony could be a good illustration of a radical innovation. 3G was launched with an increased bandwidth that could not only transmit a voice, but support more diverse multimedia applications (http://searchtelecom.techtarget.com). People, especially those who have high knowledge and capabilities, are doubtless a fundamentally utmost resource in an innovation. However, putting the identically capable people in the two similar firms can lead to significantly different accomplishments (Christensen, C.M., & Overdorf, M.. 2000). This is not only caused by some subtleties between the two firms, but also the working environment–in other words– innovative culture. While processing and managing innovation, the particular innovated spirits and substance of a company, including innovated values, beliefs, norms, company's structure and working environment, is fostered and advanced. According to Margaret Rouse (2015), innovative culture cultivated by a company's leader "generally subscribe to the belief that innovation is not the province of top leadership but can come from anyone in the organization." For seeking a dominant position while competing among a market, both tangible forces–including people, equipment, and technologies–and intangible forces–like product designs, brands, and reputation–are required to a company. Innovative culture in these, is an intangible force. As it involved every employee in a company, innovative culture can set up a company's working spirit, stir creative thoughts, motivate people to work efficiently, and empower a company's core competency among the markets.
