Repeats. Seeking the possible perfection.
• Review technical screenplays, types of shots. Working with the format to
compositional and spatial level . The importance of the OFF. Suggest well as
display. Consistency in planning the project objectives.
• The location. Working on Set. Practical impact on the work of the Director
before and during the shooting. Tutoring works with the rest of the team.
• Producer – Director, strategies of self- integration into the labor market.
• Practicum of direction jobs: First Assistant Director and Assistants before
and during the shooting.
• The job of Script II. Working in a shooting as Script. Practice Axes. Viewing
the racords of the Edition.
2.- Workshop: Directing actors II.
• The direction of actors is not the interpretation. Why the choice of actors?.
The (audiovisual) constructions of the character. Transmission of the character.
Searches for characterization. Definition of rhythm and gesture. Speaking and
listening. Are the reheasals outside the shooting necessary? A special relations-
hip. Lead what you see. Express what is not.
• The preparation of castings and test for the actors before shooting.
• Rehearsals and characterization.
• The work with the actor in and out of the frame.
• Droop and dynamic performance.
• Narrativity versus expressiveness.
3.- Art Direction II.
• Construction of the set and atmosphere of the Red Epic projects to shot
during the course depending on what the scripts (themes, situations and
characters) supervised by Professional Artistic Directors.
• Practical work on costumes and makeup.
• Optimization and re-use Props from the narrative and expressive point of
view.

Objectives and structure
The Fourth Year of our Degree in Film
Direction aims to get Directors to widen their
perspectives toward different ways of make
cinema and understand it. Students will
realize short films in 35mm, Red Epic and
Red One Digital Cinema with coordination of
the projects and a detailed follow-up of the
work of the different film crews. All students
will realize several audiovisual projects. We
want the student to search for his style as a
creator and to acquire self-confidence
working in a professional environment. At
the end of the Third Year in addition to the
project in 35mm and Digital Cinema shot
during the course, 6 projects are chosen to
be filmed in 35 mm and Digital Cinema by
the students who have shown the best
evolution in all the exercises filmed during de
Bachelor.
2. 4.- Narrative and Screenplay IV.
• Writing is rewriting, active work on the scripts for Red Epic projects.
• Workshops dialogues, the character is the owner of the silence and slave of
their words. The subtext from the script.
• Practical workshops writing film scripts.
5.- Language and Aesthetics VIII. New Cinema.
• Viva Italia: From Antonioni, Fellini and Visconti to the ugliness of Pasolini.
EastWinds. Brazil:The aesthetics of hunger and violence. Cinemas of the Far East:
Eros and Thanatos. Young Swedish and a huge filmmaker (Bergman). Germany
again. Belgium: Between the fantastic and hyperrealism. Stateless.
• The view. The tone. The theme and tempo.
• Hollywood in the era of new cinema. The renewal of the comedy. The
Twilight and Wild: Peckinpah. The TV generation: Mulligan, Lumet, Pollack...
European influence. Neoclassicism. Great Expectations.The domain of technolo-
gy. Rise and Fall. Proper names: Coppola, Scorsese, Bogdanovich, Allen, Spiel-
berg, Lucas... Box office, disasters and show.
• Other areas II: both easts and Africa . Iranian teachers . Throughout Turkey.
Classic China and Different Chinese. From Korea to a new Japan. The Egyptian
cinema and Cinema of Palestine and Israel.
• Today 's cinema.
6.- Project IV (Includes Grade Final Project).
• Project preparation in Red EPIC to shoot by students.
• Exposure of the project by the director. Direction and script memory and
project viability. Continuous work on projects to shoot during the course
• Multidisciplinary shooting practices with tutoring.
