and shelter.
4. Safety and Security
• Safety : is the feeling people get when they
know no harm
• Security : is the feeling people get when their
fears and anxieties are low
5. Love and Belonging
• The third level is love and belonging.
• These needs are met through
relationships with: family members,
friends, peers, classmates
6. Self-esteem
• People need to sense that they are
valued and by others and feel that they
are making a contribution to the world.
7. Self-actualization
• The highest level of the hierarchy
• Self-actualized people have realistic
perceptions of themselves, others
and the world around them.
