This document outlines copyright law in Nepal. It defines copyright as the legal rights given to creators to protect their original works. Copyright protects literary works, artistic works, music, and computer programs from unauthorized reproduction, adaptation, translation, or distribution. Copyright protection lasts for the life of the creator plus 50 years after death for most works, or 25 years for photographs. Exceptions are made for research, review, reporting, and teaching.
