2. Introduction
Osteoporosis: A condition in which a bone mineral density of 2.5 standard deviation or more
below the mean peak bone mass, measured by dual energy X-ray absoptiometry.
Primary: Post-menopausal(Type-1) & Senile occurs after the age of 75 with ratio
2♀:1♂(Type-2)
Secondary: Can arise in any age with equal sex ratio.
3. Background or Hypothesis
Investigation: In Vivo Observation and verification of the ameliorative effect of L.C on
Osteoporosis on mice 6 week old female
It has being subjected that L. chinense is most popular for counter effect on muscular Skeletal
diseases.
This concept was performed in ovarie-ectomized mice subjected with the extracts of the L.C
fruit using ethanol and B.M.C, B.M.D, concentration of Osteocalcin & Calcium was
determined to prove the hypothesis.

7. Discussion
In the study ovariectomy decreased the femoral B.M.C & B.M.D, which is restored with oral
administration of L.C at 1mg/Kg & 100mg/Kg much higher then OVX set.
Controlled remodeling between osteoblasts and osteoclasts mainly occurs to maintain bone
homeostasis. Moreover osteocalcin and calcium are classic markers of osteoblastic maturation.

8. Conclusion
The administration of L.C ameliorate osteoporosis in OVX. Moreover the shattering of bone
structure & replenishing of B.M.C and B.M.D were recovered by L.C along with Bone
markers.
