Organized by Australia International Trade Association (AITA), the much-anticipated event
Shaanxi-Australia Investment & Trade Forum was successfully held in Sydney on 23rd of March, 2017.
Over 200 representatives from the government, associations and companies of Australia and Shaanxi
attended the forum.
The Governor of Shaanxi Province, Hu Heping, led a 50 entrepreneurs strong investment & trade
delegation from more than 30 multinational enterprises participated in the forum. The delegation
proposed to build cooperation in the fields of tourism, agriculture, energy and infrastructure.
Over 200 people attended the forum
Representatives from both Governments and Private sectors including the Australia federal
government, Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and South Australia
attended Shaanxi-Australia Investment&Trade Forum. With the facilitation of this forum, Australia has
full access to the benefits of One Belt One Road Initiative in investment, infrastructure, tourism and
agriculture

MOU signing ceremony
USD$70 million deal was signed in the fields of deep processing agricultural product, iron ore
purchase, electric information and culture tourism. The Governor thinks highly of the role AITA plays in
organizing international events for China and Australia and thus China Council for the Promotion of
International Trade Shaanxi signed MOU with AITA.
Hu Heping, the governor of Shaanxi,
delivered the opening remark, emphasizing on
promoting cooperation between Shaanxi and
Australia in the following five aspects.
▪ Port trade, warehousing and logistics;
▪ Technology;
▪ Agriculture;
▪ Mining resources;
▪ Tourism and education.

Shaanxi delegation visited City of Sydney
Council and reached consensus on trade and
tourism collaboration.
Governor Hu and the councilors took this
picture in the city council with the sculpture of
Terracotta Amy which is the most famous tourist
attraction in Xi’an, capital of Shaanxi.

Conclusion: Shaanxi delegation had a fruitful visit in Australia and the Investment & Trade Forum built
an efficient platform to promote international exchanges. Both sides expressed sincere gratitude to
AITA and the hope for AITA to further assist the government, associations, companies and
organizations in China and Australia by organizing forums, trade missions and expos and exploring
new projects .
