6. Removing barriers to internet access
“Charlotte” lives near Eastwood.
She lives on a fixed income and can’t
afford internet in her home.
She comes to the LEC to access the
high speed wireless so she can skype
and email her family and friends.
7. The LEC hosts “Computer Café” twice a week, offering
free internet, use of a laptop...and of course, coffee.
8. Thanks to interactive video capabilities, families
can experience far away places together
9. Community leaders can share information
Recently the LEC hosted the
presentation of market study
data to community leaders.
The LEC’s new media
capabilities make it easier
to share information
and interact as a group.
10. Enhanced community programs
The Eastwood LEC Choir
uses the media equipment
for community sing-a-longs.
They can also share their
performances online for
long-distance friends and
relatives.
11. Unfolding future possibilities…
• Training webinars
• Live news/science events
• Video-conference meetings
• Continuing education webinars for local health professionals
Editor's Notes
We would like to see the LEC used for training webinars for city, county and local agencies.
