Led Zeppelin give rock a heavier feel and become one of the most popular 70s bands, they
start the genre of hard rock.
Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon is released in 1973, goes on to become one of the most
popular, influential rock albums of all time
Bands such as The Sex Pistols and The Clash form punk.
1990s - Present
Nirvana's 'Nevermind' is released in 1991, taking the world by storm and making
alternative rock/grunge popular
Bands like Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Foo Fighters become popular in the 90s
As we come in to the 21st Century, a new wave of rock and alternative music becomes
popular, inspiring countless young people and adults across the world.
