This document discusses styles of articles for an indie magazine. It compares the question and answer (Q&A) style to free flowing style. The Q&A style sets questions and answers in different colors and adds images. Free flowing articles are in large paragraphs with few images. While free flowing articles provide more information, the document concludes the Q&A style would be better for engaging a teenage audience with less reading through use of color and brevity.
4. Women normally wear a lot of
makeup and its usually dark
around their eyes. They usually a
lot of makeup around their eyes.
They usually wear eye shadow,
foundation, power and they
contour. Indie rock artists also
wear dark coloured lipstick
however they also tend to wear
nude colours.
Men are minimal with makeup,
they don’t wear a lot. They
mostly wear a bit of foundation
and powder. Their makeup is
usually done really lightly so you
cant really tell that they are
wearing any.
7. Free flowing or Q&A
Q&A style magazine normally has the question in one
colour and the answer in another. It is usually set out in
columns. There are normally images added onto the page
to make the page look better instead of just having text
everywhere. Most magazines tend to use Q&A it’s easier
and more interesting when reading. From doing research I
think that indie magazines tend to do free flowing articles
for their magazines.
I prefer Q&A style articles because I think they are easier
to read and look more interesting. Q&A type articles
tend to b shorter the Free flowing and I think that my
target audience who are teenagers would appreciate
something with less writing and more colour.
8. Free flowing articles are normally in big chunks and I think it’s
a lot harder to understand and I think it looks boring
compared to Q&A styled articles. Free flowing articles are
normally placed in columns but tend to look boring and don’t
use different colours. The text is usually put into paragraphs
with no pictures except one maybe above the text.
Free flowing articles can be interesting to people who like to
read a lot and enjoy reading a lot of information. I think that
free flowing makes the article look professional and more
sophisticated compared to Q&A.
I don’t think that a free flowing article would appeal to my
target audience because just from looking at the article you
can tell that there is alot to read and this might put the reader
off so for this reason I would say that the Q&A style is a better
choice.
