Editor's Notes
- Good morning everyone . I am ashvini Head of computer Science department warmly welcomes you all in the departmental presentation of computer science department. This is a team effort and I would like to present here on the behalf of all my colleagues.
- “As seed grows and becomes a tree” like our department established in 2008 with Bsc(C.S) and gradully growing up with Msc(c.S) in 2009 and MCA (Sci) in 2012.
- Our department mainly based on 7 values and ethics Honesty towards delivering the knowledge Trust among students faculties and management Boldness to achieve goals Freedom of creativity innovations and suggestions Team spirit to work like a family Modesty for enhancement of students as well as faculties Fun without no organization can grow.
- The main objectives of our department is To make student proficient in problem solving techniques Analysis of complex problems Synthesis of solutions to that problems Comprehension of modern software industry principles
- Our department offers various courses ..some are core and some are interdisciplinary Core courses Like Bsc(C.S) Msc(C.S) and MCA Sci and interdisciplinary courses are BCA and MCA (Comm).
- As we have seen in earlier slide.. we have started in 2008 with few students and now I m filing proud to mention that with the continuous efforts of management and faculties our department became largest department of pcccs. In this year we have around 451 students out of 1700 from CS Department.
- In the graph We can see consistent growth in Fy Admissions . And because of our student centric environment we are able to maintain stable admissions in PG classes .
- To cope up with large strength we have sufficient number of qualified and experienced teaching and non teaching staff. We have around 12 faculties in-house , 3 visiting faculties and 4 lab assistants .
- Because of ample number of staff we have maintained standard ratio of students & teacher as per norms of SPPu.We have 1 teacher behind every 20 students at practicals and 1 teacher behind every 60 students at theory lectures.
- We always believe in quality . And I have a team of young and dynamic faculties with updated expertise,faculties of our department are devotedly participating in a curriculum and self development.
- Research is the Soul of every department and our faculties and students are putting their innovations in form of research papers ,book publications and participation in various workshops and seminars . If we see summarize data of research of our department .. Around 45 workshops attended by faculties 43 research papers presented in various national and international conferences Book and publications and 3 are in process
- At the same time they are proving themselves in research process also. among 13 faculties 2 are NET/SET qualified, 2 faculties are pursuing Ph.D 6 have cleared PhD entrance and now they are preparing for Final round. And I am confident that next year all faculties of our department will be in Research Process.
- This are glimpses of book publication by faculties
- “ Motivation and Appreciation” is remedy of every problem. And our lucky faculties always received appreciation and awards from our management as well as different reputed institutions. Few i like to mention Mrs Aprna recived award as best teacher and Best Performance in academics by PCCCs And Mrs Ashvini Received award Vidybhushan from INSA and I have also received First Prize in Zonal Level Avishkar.
- These are some glimpses of Faculty achievements
- “Results are outcome of continuous efforts” and i am filing proud to tell we have maintain better results as compared to university and neighbourhood colleges. Because of our dynamic and expert faculties we have maintained vertical growth in results maximum times.
- We can see result analysis with respect to sppu we have better record of results and Our results are always in between 83 % to 88 % for Msc (C.S)
- But exceptions are everywhere and to overcome this exceptions our department is putting maximum efforts.
- To improve results we appoint Subject matter Experts to provide expertise knowledge of subject Then we have remedial teaching for (UG) clasess And Bridge course for UG as well as PG classes
- To Provide consistent quality in academics we have structured and well defined teaching process. We provide academic planner at the beginning of semester for PG classes Lectures /Practical to provide thorough knowledge Various Teaching approaches for better understanding of subject Internal Examinations and class tests to analyze students understanding.
- For overall development of students we have arranged various activities like knowledge enhancement programs ,OMTs ,Placements and Infotainment (that is informative sessions arranged followed by entertainment.
- These are few knowledge enhancement programs I would like to mention 2 national level seminars 1 state level seminar 5 days workshop on android Practice sessions of general and technical aptitude
- Mock interview sessions Personality development workshops Career counseling Session on BI and Agile This programs are arranged to improve detail knowledge of subject expertise.
- These are glimpses of KEP
- This is the recent knowledge enhancement program organized by our department on Business Intelligence and Agile Methodology
- To make students aware with corporate world , industry requirements ,we invite eminent and renowned scientist guest speakers to guide our students Mr Atul kahate, Dr Pardeshi,dr basant rajan,Dr sachin kdam are the few famous names I would like to mention over here
- Students are improving academically but physical fitness is mandatory and our students are actively participating in various sports like basketball cricket yoga and many more. Recently our student ketan received award for his contribution in pune cricket board.
- To provide the knowledge of effective team building, every year our management arrange outdoor management tour for all PG classes.
- Senior students arrange fresher's induction for first year students so they can get familiar with pcccs family
- Student participate in extracurricular activities to explore their talent in art music and dance.
- Our students are our stars and some stars are always shines more .These are our achievers who have received various awards and reorganizations in various competitions.
- Some glimpses of our achievers
- Social ethics and social responsibility is our value . We are not doing anything as a charity but we take things as a responsibility. There are various activities we do as social responsibility .
- This are glimpses of a donation for new year to poor peoples by our management and students
- A mega event “ Job Fair “to provide employment to unemployed youth all over india
- Skills and knowledge are the driving forces of economic growth and social development for any country. So we are running various skill development courses ..some are directed by sspu and some are implemented by management. We are running German Language And soft skills by the support of management.
- We believe in continuous growth and increasing value of human Resourse and Placement is always a strong point of our department . At the same time our placement cell always working well for that.our talented students placed in various MNC’s like Infosys, KPIT Wipro Capgemni and many more
- This are glimpses of our talented stars
- But some stars are different and they think differently and become entrepreneur .our CS entrepreneurs proving themselves in their own organizations.
- We do have mous with different institututions
- We have well maintained infrastructure for comfort of students and staff. It includes clasrooms with ICT facilty Well Equpped labs with modern configurations Updated Library And Research and deveopment Cell with modern amenities
- Glimpses of our Labs.. We have four labs
- We have updated library with more than 3000 books for computer science subject only our departmental library have 125 reference books and 66 text books . We do have cds also with many national and international periodicals
- RDC for research activities , It have 24 hrs internet facility and sufficient number of journals and e journals.
- Our department is consistently performing better because of our strengths. Qualified and experienced staff Continuous good results Well maintained infrastructure Good contribution in research Planned activities Disciplined environment And good track of placement
- But weakness is always a scope of opportunity and we are taking our weaknesses as a opportunity, We are lacking in consultancy and involvement of student in research and we are working hard on that
- The main challenge we are facing about to maintain consistency in curriculum development , continuous growth And consistency in delivering the knowledge
- But we know this is not enough so we are planning to arrange various FDPs and QIPs for development of Faculties , maximum number of research journals and collaborations for development of research aptitude and more skill development programs and art classes for overall development of students.
- This are some cherished moments I want to share with you all
