ABOUT
WILLIAM
BLAKE
4. Ah Sun-flower! weary of time,
Who countest the steps of the Sun:
Seeking after that sweet golden
clime
Where the travellers journey is
done.
Where the Youth pined away with
desire,
And the pale Virgin shrouded in
snow:
Arise from their graves and aspire,
Where my Sun-flower wishes to go.

AH!
SUNFLOWER
5. The sunflower
represents a man who
is bound to earth, but is
pinning for eternity. The
face of the sunflower
follows the course of
the Sun in the hope of
reaching a land which
is indifferent to
frustration and
restriction.
