Adult Learning Process Analysis
Academia has arguably never had a shortage of instructional techniques, backdrops or targeted audiences, however, the "best way" to facilitate a
learning process has yet to be codified. Over the past ten years I have had the privilege of being a Soldier, under graduate student, instructor, course
manager and quality assurance officer, therefore my ideologies on adult learning have been firmly grounded on personal experience, observation and
experimentation. With that stated, my general philosophy regarding a professionally conducted and exceptionally beneficial adult learning
environment is based upon four pillars of design;
Competence: The subject matter expertise of the facilitator blended with the general knowledge and aptitude of assigned adult learners permits a
balanced two–way field of information sharing.
Agility: A balance between technology, equipment, and conceptual comprehension must be achieved in order to ensure fundamentals are not lost in
translation.
Relevance: The course material should become and remain fluid, in other words the course material should mirror current field conditions in order to
obtain a realistic essence.

Consequently, in most cases the creation of working groups which are effectively managed by doctrinal authorities and composed of reputable,
experienced facilitators have proven to be the most effective. Although processes such as Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and
Evaluation (A.D.D.I.E.) have shown promise, if improperly conducted the results fall in danger of becoming bias, opinionated, impractical and

Motivation And The Motivation Of The Learning Process
As an important starting point, motivation is the prime motivation of the learning process. This is also true for research.
Motivation is one of the most crucial factors leading to success. It is the motivation that keeps me in the field for the last ten
years. Motivation is not the spur–of–the–moment curiosity at the beginning; it is more a fascination which lasts a long time.
Learning is an instill–digest–absorb process requiring effort and more importantly persistence. Without motivation, the
learning process is boring and sometimes painful. As a teacher, I wish the students in my class are motivated by passion
instead of routine. Thus I motivate students by showing them varieties of engineering applications in different fields such as
renewable energy, construction machines, automotive, aerospace, robotics and manufacturing. Instead of giving an inane
introduction, I embed my research topics in the lectures so students can get an idea of how the technology is applied to the
real world. I intend to soften the boundary between teaching and research so that students in my class realize they are not here
for spoon–feeding but for solving a practical engineering problem.
After students get motivated, it is time to show them the big picture of the course. That is, what they can achieve finally and

Learning is an ongoing process; it starts at birth and continues till ones death. New life experiences aid the learning process. Individuals learn
something new almost every single day and therefore learning is on of the most essential and important processes. Learning involves acquiring and
modifying knowledge, skills, strategies, beliefs, attitudes and behaviors (Schunk, 1996). Learning takes place in many forms, such as cognitive,
linguistic, motor and social skills as well. It is a basic concept that must be learnt by every individual in order to be able to function daily. An
individuals' environment plays a major role in their learning process, we learn certain actions and behavior patterns from our surroundings. People
learn when they become capable of doing something different. Learned actions and responses must last over a long period of time, only then does it
count as learned, if an individual can reproduce a certain action or behavior within a few seconds of seeing or learning it, that is knows as imitation,
whereas, if the person is able to exactly reproduce it after a few hours or days, it becomes a learned behavior. Another criterion for learning is
experience. Observation occurs through experience. Language is the best example to portray this. We learn how to speak through social interaction that

Learning the Research Process
This proposed research work was a qualitative research in its very nature of data collection and analysis. It has covered the empirical type of research
methodology as for data collection the researcher had to visit the spot and talk to the stakeholders directly. Besides, from the point of authenticity and
nature of data collection it can be categorized as the ethnographic research, as well.
According to Brikci and Green (2007) "Qualitative research is characterized by its aims, which relate to understanding some aspects of social life, and
its methods which (in general) generate words, rather than numbers, as data for analysis." This research focused on the evaluation of the English
language programme of Radio Pollikontho FM 99.2, therefore, the research work conducted by Al–Hasan, Anandi & Abdul–Maliki (2011) on Simli
radio in Ghana was taken as a guideline for data collection. In that research, they used both desk–works as well as field level data collection tools for
collecting authentic data. Here, also some table works or document analysis tools were used to develop the concept of radio programme, in particular,
FM radio programmes.

As we grow older, we trade information in other subgroups that improve our ability to learn. Service groups allow us to put what we learn into action.
They allows us to examine the relationship between practice, theory and statistics.
The teacher can be a mentor, an authority figure, a guide or a reality censor where we can test the validity of information we absorb. Tutors can
reinforce what the teacher is teaching using interaction similar to that used by cross–functional teams in many of the nation's businesses.
Cross–functional teams combine the talents of individuals, interacting as equals to diagnose problems and find solutions. In the cross–functional team,
a great deal of learning takes place as people from different departments share information held within their departments. Team members draw on their
differences of information, backgrounds and combine abilites to learn the effects of problems and why they occur.
Curiously, the first part of learning is confrontation, where practices of the members own department are questioned and often have to be defended. As

Bandura's Effective Learning : The Process Of...
In the video clip "Children See – Children Do, we see observational learning. "We observe others and then do our best to imitate their behavior. We
also often learn our attitudes and appropriate ways to act out our feelings by observing good and bad models." (Griggs) Observational learning,
based on the work of Dr. Albert Bandura, also known as modeling and is described as the process of learning through observing others, storing the
information, and then later imitating the behaviors that were observed. Through experiments performed by Dr. Bandura, specifically the Bobo Doll
experiment, he theorized "by using aggressive and nonaggressive actors, that a child would tend to imitate and learn from the behavior of a trusted
adult." (Learning From Role Models) and that learning could happen by simply observing someone else's activity. In the video, the observational
learning that the children received in the video was an example of imitating aggressive model behavior. Dr. Bandura arranged his findings in a

The brain is a very important part of the body that helps human beings process information. In addition to processing information, the brain also

To me, taking ownership of learning means understanding that the only person who is capable of getting me to learn something is me. Even in highly

The adult learning process is complicated to explain because one definition cannot truly encompass all the different ways and reasons people are
continuing to learn after mandatory schooling. Jack Mezirow came up with a concept known as transformative learning to describe the adult learning
process (Merriam, et al., 2014). Transformative learning is defined as making meaning out of one's experiences (Merriam, et al., 2014). Creating
meaning for our experiences allows adults to learn once reflection has occurred. Many stages are involved in the process, but reflection is the one that

These issues were brought up in discussion in two different articles by Lowell Monke and Laurie Fendrich "Charlotte's Webpage" and "Bad Student
Writing? Not So Fast", respectively. Fendrich and Monke take two different stances on the use of technology, like computers, for learning but few
similarities can be seen. Both can agree that technology and its unique uses are a major part of the learning environment for the younger generations.
Fendrich's article expresses the positive advantages of the use of technology in the younger generation. She discusses how the older generation
believes "that these irresponsible young people have not been trained properly" (par. 2). The older generation may be reluctant to "embrace new ideas"

Reflection is the method of analysing an activity with a view of changing an existing approach or adopting a new perspective on an experience
(Nguyen et al 2014). Boyd and Fales (1983) state "that this process is central to understanding the experiential learning process". According to Trottier

Understanding The Cognitive Learning Process
Understanding the cognitive learning process is something teachers should all know. You are teaching children with the goal for them to remember it
and be able to apply it in the future so grasping the concept of how they do this should be important for all educators. In my education courses now I
can say that we do often discuss how children learn, what works best and how to cause a better chance for them to remember. For the process to run
smoothly and successfully the child has to have information to build off of. Learning is an extending process of what we already know says the book.
We can't introduce a topic that is irrelevant and anything and everything previously done in the class. They can't make it to the attention and perception
stage without common ground. Like you mentioned in the lector students with attention issues can have more trouble. ELL students might have
trouble in the process due to lack of english language skills. Knowing the process of cognitive learning allows the teacher to be more aware of the
teachings she provides to students. Its the teachers job to be aware of the students skills and knowledge and give them lessons that will feed the
cognitive process not hinder it.

The Impact Of Robotics On The Learning Process
In recent years, robots have been implemented in educational plans to assist in the learning process. The following will discuss specific studies on the
effectiveness of using robotics in education and whether there is a significant difference in the skills and ability level of students who were exposed to
robotics compared to those who weren't. The intention is for the use of robotics in education to increase due to students developing important skills as a
direct result. In a study done on two–year–olds, it was found that children are more inclined to participate in class and interact when a robot is present.

  • 2. Motivation And The Motivation Of The Learning Process As an important starting point, motivation is the prime motivation of the learning process. This is also true for research. Motivation is one of the most crucial factors leading to success. It is the motivation that keeps me in the field for the last ten years. Motivation is not the spur–of–the–moment curiosity at the beginning; it is more a fascination which lasts a long time.
