The documentary follows conventions of real documentaries through its editing, camerawork, interviews, and use of archive footage and voiceover.
The editing uses cuts between interviews and related archive footage to flow effectively. The camerawork uses techniques like pans, zooms, and tilts. The interviews are filmed using proper lighting, framing, and positioning of the interviewee. Relevant archive footage is included and effects are used. The voiceover and music bed match professional standards.
The print advertisement catches attention with an image and bold slogan linked to the documentary topic and channel logo, matching features of real print ads.

Documentary uses conventions of real media
1. Q1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
2. Documentary The documentary, Radio Trailer and Newspaper Advert does not challenge the conventions therefore my production as a whole follows the codes and conventions which can be compared to real media products on a professional level.
3. Editing - In most documentaries cutting is the most common editing and this is shown throughout my documentary. An example of cutting in my documentary is cutting from an interview to archive material which relates to what the interviewee is talking about. At the beginning of some interviews I used the dissolve effect to stop there being a jump cut. In a documentary, editing is important because it makes it flow effectively as a whole. 4. Camerawork - Most real media products use professional technology for camera work to get the best quality. This is exactly what I done whilst filming, I used a video camera with a tripod and a microphone for sound levels if needed. Throughout my documentary I tried to use various camera work such as pan, zoom, tilt etc. Interviews - Before filming interviews I thought hard about the mise - en -scene because as well as following the conventions, I also wanted the mise - en - scene relating to the interviewee. Comparing my interviews with professional ones I used graphics that shown the name of the interviewee and their relevance. I made sure their eyes with a third of the way down the frame and finally I made sure the interviewee was positioned right or left to the screen using medium close up or close up. Also, before filming the interview I made sure the interviewee knew not to look directly into the camera. The lighting of the interviews can be compared to professionals because it wasn't filmed in front of a window which causes bright light.
5. We added archive footage of Travis Barker because it relates to one of the interviews. Also, the archive material made it more appealing with using effects and zoom. One of the interviewee's talks about Travis Barker’s tattoo on his neck therefore we put archive material of his tattoo over the interview to relate to what she was talking about. The voiceover is an important element to all documentaries. We used a voiceover that followed the conventions of real media products. For example; we used someone that was in the same generation as the target audience of the documentary and they spoke standard English. We used a music bed throughout and we made sure that the sound levels fitted perfectly.
6. My print advert matches professional print adverts through a number of factors. Firstly, it contains a striking image to catch the audiences attention with the slogan bolder than the scheduling of the documentary. The slogan should like to the print advert and also the documentary itself. My print advert can also be compared to a professional because it contains the channels logo. Print Advert
