CONTENT
Those Winter Sundays tell’s us the poet’s own experience when he was a boy. He recalls how
he could not recognize or never appreciate his father’s deep love in his childhood.

AUSTERE
Teacher asks some questions to the learners Father is very strict and serious

Teacher: Yes, as compared to mother, father is very strict and
serious. So the word austere means strict and serious in appearance
and behaviour.
BLAZE
Teacher : What happened when kerosene put on fire? It will burn more strongly
Yes, so the word blaze means ‘to burn brightly and Strongly.
ACHE
Teacher : What was the condition of the patients The patients felt a kind
at the time of bed rest? of pain in their body.
Teacher : Yes the condition of the patient is always
bad. They felt pain/ache in their body. So the
word ache means ‘to feel a continuous dull
