can a hydrogen bond occur between two atoms of hydrogen
Solution
No. The bond between two hydrogen atoms in an H2 molecule is a covalent bond, in which the
two atoms share an electron pair.
Hydrogen bonds occur between molecules in which hydrogen is bound to another atom, giving
these molecules a polarity. The classic example is the water molecule, H2O, where the oxygen
atom carries more negative charge than the hydrogen atoms, so there are hydrogen bonds
between water molecules.
