Moshel, R. (2018). Enterprise risk management implementation
challenges: A case study in a petrochemical supply chain.
Today, a lot of firms are working on implementing ERM in their
firms to reduce the impacts of risks. This article is highlights
challenges that a firm is likely to face when implementing
ERM. This article majorly revolves in the petrochemical firm
and highlights the difficulties a firm or a manufacturing
industry is likely to phase while implementing ERM. The article
highlights the advantages an industry is likely to achieve in
implementing ERM as it ensures there is the protection of the
12. company assets and quick response to any risks. As the articles
put, it is essential for manufacturing industries to ensure their
assets are protected as they play important roles in the
economy. These articles highlight most of the challenges
organization faces when it comes to implementation of ERM,
which includes employee's resistance to change, poor
organization culture, lack of qualified personnel and many
organizations find no value in implementing ERM. The article
tries to explain some of the significant challenges that make
organizations reluctant to implement ERM and how
organizations can ensure to implement ERM.
I believe this article is essential to reference material. The
information contained in this article can help other
manufacturing companies to effectively come up with better
ERM projects by avoiding some of the challenges highlighted in
this article. The article is not biased in my view, as it
encompasses the thought and contributions of different scholars.
Mottaghi, N. (2012). What Leads Firms to Enterprise Risk
Management Adoption? A Literature Review.
Even without an increase in cyber threats and a lot of insights
from researchers, most organizations and firms are reluctant
when it comes to the adoption of ERM. This article tries to
identify and highlight and identify different frameworks in
which different organizations, including manufacturing
industries, can apply to enhance ERM adoption. The article
highlights some of the considerations that different
organizations look at when it comes to adopting ERM, some of
this includes firm size, the complexity of the firm, what the
firms deal with as well as firms the structure of the firm.
This article, in detailed, looks at different factors that are
associated with ERM adoption and well factors that fuel the
implementation of ERM. This article tries to show different
studies by different studies by different authors that have been
used to try and understand the compelling reason towards
adopting ERM. I believe this article is important as it highlights
13. the reason why most firms are reluctant when it comes to the
adoption of ERM and the measures an organization can put in
place to ensure effective adopting of ERM. This article serves
as a good reference material for firms that are in the process of
adopting ERM as it highlights important factors to be put in
place when it comes to the adopting of ERM. The article is not
biased as it contains different scholars and researcher's
contributions. This article will be important in my research as it
will help me identify some of the factors that should be
considered when it comes to adoption ERM.
Kashif Shad, M., & Lai, F. (2019). Enterprise Risk Management
Implementation and Firm Performance: Evidence from the
Malaysian Oil and Gas Industry. International Journal of
Business and Management, 14(9), 47.
doi:10.5539/ijbm.v14n9p47
This article looks at the influence of ERM adoption and
implementation on the performance of the firm. The article
revolves on different public companies and gas and oil
industries. To assess the effect of ERM adoption on the
performance of the organization, the study collected different
organization data applying the content analysis method, putting
into consideration the organization's ERM practices as well as
the organization's financial performance. To access
organizations' financial performance, the study measured the
company's return on assets rates. To fully understand and find
the importance of ERM adoption in an organization, the study
identified eight hypotheses and tested them using different
regression analyses. After conducting the study, the team found
that ERM plays a key role in supporting an organization in
setting its objectives when it comes to monitoring and
controlling its activities, supporting its internal environment as
well as helping an organization when it comes to predicting
about the future. From the finding of this study, it is clear the
ERM can help manufacturing companies to achieve its goals and
objectives effectively.
14. I believe this is an important study asset and will help me in my
project, especially when it comes to data collection analysis and
interpretation. Also, the article poses excellent information
about the importance of ERM adoption and how firms can
benefit from it. The article is clear and thus not confusing, and
its arguments are well phrased and easily understandable;
therefore, an important resource for my project.

Management and Its Effect on Firm Value in Turkey. Journal of
Management Research, 8(4), 86. doi:10.5296/jmr.v9i1.10124
This article that was published in the year 2017, tries to
evaluate the effects of enterprise risk management in more than
130 manufacturing firms operating in Korea. The article starts
by clearly defining ERM as an approach that is used when
considering risk in business strategy context and how to ensure
there is proper risk management. This article tries to explain
how an increase in risks has pushed different businesses and
industries to come up with different methods and ways to
manage risks and remain operational. As the article puts, it is
due to this risk that different businesses and industries,
including the manufacturing industries, have adopted the use of
ERM. The study that was conducted involved different
regression channels models to different financial data that was
collected from public disclosure platforms for a total of 130
companies. The article highlights different methods that were
used to measure the performance of the ERM in various
manufacturing companies. According to the finding of the
report, the use of ERM enhances the performance of different
companies and thus improving firm rating and investors’
confidence. I believe this article is essential in my project,
especially when it comes to how to measure the performance of
ERM. Also, the article is a better guideline on how to conduct
ERM, as well as understanding how different ERM adoption
time is likely to affect the performance of an organization.
Also, the article exposes me to different methods of analyzing
15. data.

Performance, the Mediating Role of Competitive Advantage and
the Moderating Role of Financial Literacy. Journal of Risk and
Financial Management. 11. 35. 10.3390/jrfm11030035.
This article was published in the year 2018 and tried to examine
the advantages businesses obtain from ERM, especially in the
current times when there is such an increase in the security
breaches. The article particularly tries to cover the competitive
advantage of ERM and the performance of SME. The study was
done in Pakistan, including around 304 emerging markets. The
study had several hypotheses that it was testing to fully find out
the relationship between ERM and the firm performance. The
study involved 304 SME that had less than 250 employees
participating in different industries, including the
manufacturing industries. The study included mostly structured
questionnaires, where managers were involved. The study used
various methods to analyze the collected data to come up with a
conclusive and insightful conclusion about the data. The study
found that there is significant of ERM to the performance of
SME. SME needs to have formal policies about ERM practices.
Small enterprises need to ensure that their risk reduction as the
study found that for microenterprises to perform better, they
should adopt ERM practices. Financial education is also
paramount and goes hand in hand in with the adoption of ERM
for the success of SME. I believe this article will be of great
importance to my project. The report exposes me to different
methods of data collection and how to analyze the collected
data as well as different ways of data correction. This article
does not have any contradictions at all. It contains different
scholar's ideas and thought and thus a valuable reference
material.

Management: Factors Associated with Effective
Implementation. SSRN Electronic Journal.
doi:10.2139/ssrn.2735096
This article highlights the factors that organizations should put
in place to ensure there is an effective adoption of ERM. The
articles highlight why most organizations are in the process of
adopting ERM, but most of them are facing a lot of challenges
when it comes to the implementation. According to the article,
an organization needs to be able to access and evaluate the
various sources of its risks so that it will be able to come up
with a better ERM program. These articles highlight the major
differences between ERM and traditional risk management. This
article is keen to highlight the advantages that different firms
get from adopting a holistic risk management practices as well
as how to measure different levels of risk management stages.
17. The other important aspect of this article is on how to sample
and collect relevant data for the study as well as how to analyze
the collected data. This article proves to be an important
reference material for my project as it tackles the whole project
of ERM in detail, highlighting all its aspects and how it should
be implemented. Been a peer-reviewed article and the latest
article having been published in the year 2018, I believe it has
the right information that pertains to the implementation of
ERM.
