It is a measure of the efficiency of production. Productivity is a ratio of
what is produced to what is required to produce it.
productivity=total output/total input
Technology:
It is the making, usage, and knowledge of tools, machines, techniques,
crafts, systems or methods of organization in order to solve a problem or
perform a specific function.
Reduces the production per unit cost.
Technology used becomes more eco-friendly.
Reduces the time of production.
Increases the income of employees.
Improves the quality of life of workers.
Quality of product gives customer satisfaction.
The world’s leading brand of coffee.
It’s origin was noticed in 1930 in the Brazil country.
The production was then handed over to the Nestle company.
After 8 years the coffee was named as Nescafe.
Some achievements of Nescafe:
•1938:introduced in Switzerland.
•1965: NESCAFÉ achieved an important breakthrough with the
launch of the first freeze-dried coffee in Europe - NESCAFÉ GOLD.
•1980: NESCAFÉ launches the first gourmet soluble coffees -
NESCAFÉ
•1984: NESCAFÉ launched trendy coffee products such as coffee
mixes, coffee mixtures, ready-to-drink coffee and flavored soluble
coffees.
Each step of production is carefully controlled and monitored to ensure
the best quality. It includes various steps:
1.Selecting green coffee and blend the green coffee.
2.Then the beans are roasted at the right time and temperature to
achieve the desired taste and aroma.
3.The beans are ground and brewed.
4.The coffee extract then goes through an evaporation and drying
process that turns it into granules or powder.
By reducing the water consumption.
By reducing the energy consumption
By lowering emissions of greenhouse gases from their
factories and transport operations.

3. 4C (worldwide common code of coffee community)-it brings
together the producers, trade, and industry and civil society ,make
them work together for more sustainability in the coffee sector. It
is recognized as the basis standard for sustainability.
Responsible farming saves water and improves profit(in
Ethiopia)
Converting waste into energy.
•Per unit cost of production is reduced.
•Technology used now are eco-friendly to some extent.
•Reduction in the amount of wastage.
•Near about 200 new coffee projects have launched since last
decade.
•Profit of company has also raised.
Nescafe’s next five year plan includes three areas of actions:
•Farming-the amount of Nescafe coffee bought directly from
farmers and their associations.
•Production and supply-to improve the environmental performance
of its Nescafe factories.
Energy use will be reduced by 20% per ton by 2020.
Water consumption will be reduced by 30%per ton by 2020
All Nescafe factories will use spent coffee grounds as fuel.
