Psychologist Louis L. Thurstone's theory of intellegence can be preferred because he offered a
differing theory of intelligence. Instead of viewing intelligence as a single, general ability,
Thurstone's theory focused on seven different "primary mental abilities." The abilities that he
described were:
Verbal comprehension
Reasoning
Perceptual speed
Numerical ability
Word fluency
Associative memory
Spatial visualization
I possess Logical-mathematical intelligence because i have ability to calculate, quantify, consider
propositions and hypotheses, and carry out complete mathematical operations. It enables us to
perceive relationships and connections and to use abstract, symbolic thought; sequential
reasoning skills; and inductive and deductive thinking patterns. Logical intelligence is usually
well developed in mathematicians, scientists, and detectives. Young adults with lots of logical
intelligence are interested in patterns, categories, and relationships. They are drawn to arithmetic
problems, strategy games and experiments.
Because different theories are based on different concepts of intellegence.
Assessing a child intellegence is important because we can know his ambition, his future
prospect, so that we can frame a strategy by taking in to account his type of intellegence. So we
can choose a relevent field for him.

Psychologist Louis L. Thurstones theory of intellegence can be pre.pdf

  • 1. Psychologist Louis L. Thurstone's theory of intellegence can be preferred because he offered a differing theory of intelligence. Instead of viewing intelligence as a single, general ability, Thurstone's theory focused on seven different "primary mental abilities." The abilities that he described were: Verbal comprehension Reasoning Perceptual speed Numerical ability Word fluency Associative memory Spatial visualization I possess Logical-mathematical intelligence because i have ability to calculate, quantify, consider propositions and hypotheses, and carry out complete mathematical operations. It enables us to perceive relationships and connections and to use abstract, symbolic thought; sequential reasoning skills; and inductive and deductive thinking patterns. Logical intelligence is usually well developed in mathematicians, scientists, and detectives. Young adults with lots of logical intelligence are interested in patterns, categories, and relationships. They are drawn to arithmetic problems, strategy games and experiments. Because different theories are based on different concepts of intellegence. Assessing a child intellegence is important because we can know his ambition, his future prospect, so that we can frame a strategy by taking in to account his type of intellegence. So we can choose a relevent field for him. Solution Psychologist Louis L. Thurstone's theory of intellegence can be preferred because he offered a differing theory of intelligence.
