DESCRIPTION OF LIVE EXPERIENCE
This project rather job was my first experience to the hard core reality of the real world. Before joining the organization there was many curiosities and queries in my mind about the corporate world and life style.
I still remember my first day in the organisation my BOSS (Mr.Azmat Ali) introduced me with the other member of the organisation. It was a great experience for me because before that if someone would have introduced me it was my family or friend. Apart from them there is also a world and too recognizes me is a great thing to notice. It gave me immense pleasure and enthusiasm towards the job.
First few days were very much challenging because fresh the college I was in the organisation so it took me some time to keep pace with them. But again thanks to the college, which had cultivated us in such a manner that, in the few days I was amalgamated with organisation and its culture.
My BOSS told me learns as fast as possible and the main stream from next week. I was very eager to do some work and handle some responsibility. To my surprise I was assigned to the job with the full responsibility to represent the organisation.
It was a responsible job for me to give all the answer of the respected customer’s queries. But I accepted the challenge. My Boss on the very first day told me it’s a very responsible job; do your best and do not let me down. It gave me some sorts of confidence and very soon I began to enjoy the job and it gave to me a better result.
Mean while I used to utilize my spare time in understanding the organization operations and handling customer’s queries. The time duration that I spend in the organisation helped me a lot in my first induction programmed. I handled the situation very well and was very much satisfied with the things going on for me. In very short span of time I learned a lot and this span of time taught me lot for my successful life in future.

India is largest producer of dimensional stones in world accounting for about 27% of the word's stone production and also a leading exporter of stones which ranks 3rd (Third) in terms of tonnage. By having strength for India in marble it is not shown much interest. Splendid varieties of marbles are found in Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh etc. There are international standards and government policies which are taking initiative to develop the marble industry.

7
Marble polishing uses a variety of products and applications. There are a couple of things you need to consider prior to polishing marble. 1. Identify the type of marble. 2. Determine the desired finish. Many people assume marble surfaces can only appear to look a certain way. Typically marble floors have a highly polished finish, but most are not aware that they can also have a medium, low or even honed or matte finish. The marble polishing process When marble surfaces are scratched, dull or heavily worn, it is time for a process called diamond polishing to bring back the natural look of the marble. This process will gradually polish out any unnatural imperfections and prepare the surface for a final polishing.
8
The degree of wear, density of the marble and desired finish will determine what diamond pad to use and how many processes are required. To complete the marble polishing process a surface compound is used to achieve the desired finish. When marble surfaces are scratched, dull or heavily worn, it is time for a process called diamond polishing to bring back the natural look of the marble. This process will gradually polish out any unnatural imperfections and prepare the surface for a final polishing. The degree of wear, density of the marble and desired finish will determine what diamond pad to use and how many processes are required. To complete the marble polishing process a surface compound is used to achieve the desired finish. Polished marble surfaces tend to give the appearance of a more formal look. Maintenance-wise they will show stains and scratches more easily than a honed, matte or low luster finish, which gives the appearance of a more casual look. With these non glossy finishes the stains, scratches and wear patterns are less noticeable. WARNING: DO NOT attempt to create a polished appearance on your marble by using a wax or a topical finish or sealer. This application will block the pores of the marble, the finish will easily scuff and scratch and general soiling will build up quickly on the surface, which will create additional work and cost more money when restoring the marble back to its original finish. Considerations for selecting a marble polishing company: Learn as much about the company you’d like to hire that you can, such as 1. Verify the length of time they’ve been in business and how much of this type of work they actually do. 2. Find out if they specialize in marble polishing or if it is one of a number of services they provide such as tile cleaning, carpet cleaning, janitorial cleaning, floor stripping and waxing, etc. This will determine how experienced the technicians are in the area of marble polishing. 3. Ask specific questions about the products they use and their procedures as this should give you a good idea of what they have done and how they operate. Do-it-yourself products that are available for marble polishing: There are polishing products that you can apply to countertops and vertical surfaces that are easy to use. I suggest that you find a product that does more than polish marble. There are products that clean and polish with just one step and if you can find one
9
that conditions the surface that is even better. Protecting your marble: When looking for a product to protect marble find one that • allows good vapor transmission as marble needs to breathe, • does not change the color or appearance of the marble, • Penetrates deep into the surface providing ultimate protection. Visually, you can’t tell whether a marble surface has been properly sealed as it should not alter the appearance of the marble surface.
10

PERIODIC PROFESSIONAL CARE: Periodic honing and polishing by a floor maintenance contractor will maintain the luster and more importantly, significantly inhibit resoling and deterioration.
12
FLOOR RESTORATION: If a marble floor is scratched, deeply soiled, or has a build-up of yellowed wax or discolored sealers, the luster and natural color can be restored by wet sanding and chemical stripping. SEALER:  Sealing makes the stone more stain resistant.  Several factors like hardness, density, how porous is the stone etc must be considered prior to determining if the stone should be sealed
13
Never attempt to remove stains or deposits by scraping, scouring, or indiscriminately applying bleaching agents, liquid marble cleaners, or other harsh chemicals. MOISTURE DAMAGE:  Water penetrating exterior wall cavities through defective flashing or unsealed joints can cause efflorescence, a mineral salt residue left on the surface of masonry when water evaporates.  It is recommended that you contact your stone professional for a remedy.
14
IDENTIFYING & REMOVING: Identifying the type of stain on the stone surface is the key to removing it. Stains can be oil based, organic, metallic, biological, ink based, paint based, acid based. STONE CARE PRODUCTS such as marble cleaners, granite cleaners, marble polishes, etch or spot removers, sealers or a soap and scum remover for your shower MARBLELIFE can help.

Contribution of the marble industry in the Economic Development: This is one of the biggest contributions of the industry from the socio-economic point of view. Today the marble industry of Rajasthan employs more than 5 Lakhs persons (as stated above) in the various sectors of the industry like mining and processing and many more are getting their employment indirectly from this industry like transporters, mechanics / workshop owners, masons (for laying and fixing of stones), artisans etc. In Rajasthan the overall industrial development is not much and the major portion of the population depends on the agriculture which in turn is very poor due to water scarcity and high dependency on monsoon. In such conditions the contribution of marble industry though small, but is important and vital for employment generation, that too of in-situ nature. The in-situ employment is the employment for which the workers need not rush to city. Revenue Generation: The revenue generation from the industry is in the form of royalty on mineral dispatched, excise, sales tax and surcharge on finished products and taxation on machines and various incomes. The industry is generating huge revenue for the state in the form of mineral royalty. As per the available data marble mining in the state generated revenue of Rs.5, 65,178 thousand (approx.) in the year 2003-2004. Processing and sales of marble also generates huge revenues for the state and the Central Government in the form of Sales Tax Excise respectively Sales tax is applicable on marble slabs at the rate of 12% of the total sales value with 15 % surcharge added over the tax value. Besides this, excise is levied for the sales over 1Crore at the applicable
21
rates. These two generated huge revenues for the Government. Apart from this Rajasthan is also a big market for the imported marble. Government levies huge levies on the import of marble. At present Indian Government gives licenses for the import of marble at the rate of US $450 per metric Tonnes of marble slabs and US $ 300 per metric tonnes of marble blocks. These import duties are basically levied to safe guard the interest of Indian producers and to counter the dumping policies of countries like China. Earning of Foreign Exchange: India produces roughly 10% of total marble production of the world and Rajasthan counts for more than 95% of total production of marble in the country. The exports of Marble from country Counted to 1, 05,864 Tonnes in the year 2004 and the value of these exports were Rs.1742.55 Million (approx.). Total value of exports of marble and products thereof from India in the year 2003-04 counted up to Rs. 2135 Million approximately. Major portions of these exports were from Rajasthan, this way; the industry plays an important role in the development of the state as well as the country by generating big amounts of foreign exchange. The main consumption of Rajasthan marble is within the country; even then it has occupied 10th position in the list of commodities exported from Rajasthan. The export has been facilitated with the exhaustion of Italian marble deposits (which has already started) and strict controls of safety and environmental laws in the European countries.

24
Summary of Learning Experience
Coming to the learning experience it was a great time to be with the organisation. The working environment and the support that I got from the superiors and the colleagues were appreciable.
Before joining the organisation I was very much susceptible about it but very much relevant to the industry also.
For that matter my communication skills improved so was my personnel skills. One thing I realized was that every day brings new experience in the life and you do not have to wait for things get done but you have to push the things so that they could be done.
25
Conclusions and Recommendation
What I concluded from the project was that theory and practical life is something different. We need to apply that theory in our practical life for better and effective results. I can say it confidently because there were many of my colleagues who were/are working with the organisation from a long time and they are also doing well but what they lack is the art that we learn in the classroom. The same job that we can do with a greater fineness they are unable to do because of organised management learning. In sort we are molded in such an environment that we enjoy work which may not be true for others.
 Quick Service facilities.
 Make reasonable price.

I hereby put my sincere thanks to one and all. I express my sincere gratitude to Mr. Azmat Ali, Manager – Operations (Marble Life, Gulf), for his able guidance, continuous support and cooperation throughout my project without which the present work would not have been possible. • 3. 3 DESCRIPTION OF LIVE EXPERIENCE This project rather job was my first experience to the hard core reality of the real world.

  • 7. 7 Marble polishing uses a variety of products and applications.
  • 8. 8 The degree of wear, density of the marble and desired finish will determine what diamond pad to use and how many processes are required.
  • 9. 9 that conditions the surface that is even better.
  • 10. 10 MARBLE and STONE POLISHING & RESTORATION SERVICES to restore repair or maintain your ceramic, granite, limestone, marble, porcelain, quartz, slate, travertine, or terrazzo surfaces MARBLELIFE can help you get it done right. • 11. 11 repair, and polish them. Once the restoration process is complete, your marble, granite and tile surface is returned to their original beautiful condition, maintenance services can insure a consistent appearance. PERIODIC PROFESSIONAL CARE: Periodic honing and polishing by a floor maintenance contractor will maintain the luster and more importantly, significantly inhibit resoling and deterioration.
  • 12. 12 FLOOR RESTORATION: If a marble floor is scratched, deeply soiled, or has a build-up of yellowed wax or discolored sealers, the luster and natural color can be restored by wet sanding and chemical stripping. SEALER:  Sealing makes the stone more stain resistant.  Several factors like hardness, density, how porous is the stone etc must be considered prior to determining if the stone should be sealed
  • 13. 13 Never attempt to remove stains or deposits by scraping, scouring, or indiscriminately applying bleaching agents, liquid marble cleaners, or other harsh chemicals. MOISTURE DAMAGE:  Water penetrating exterior wall cavities through defective flashing or unsealed joints can cause efflorescence, a mineral salt residue left on the surface of masonry when water evaporates.  It is recommended that you contact your stone professional for a remedy.
  • 14. 14 IDENTIFYING & REMOVING: Identifying the type of stain on the stone surface is the key to removing it.

  • 20. 20 and cash equivalents Contribution of the marble industry in the Economic Development: This is one of the biggest contributions of the industry from the socio-economic point of view.
  • 21. 21 rates. VISION To be a Globally Benchmarked Organization in Marble Life, through our value-added products with continued focus on Quality and Customer Delight, and to have revenue of Rs.3000 crores by FY 2015. MISSION To deliver superior value to our customers, shareholders, employees and society at large with increased focus on living by our values.
  • 22. 22 Analysis of Data Feedback obtained by customers through the physical survey method to know their opinion about MARBLE LIFE performance was also analyzed through various clients’ opinion with the help of questionnaire format, so that it would be easy to analyze the data and reach to conclusive point.
  • 23. 23 Summary of the Findings Various techniques of research shows that -  The service of Marble Life Company is enough good in comparison to other companies.  The performance of Marble Life Products and services are excellent.  The franchise and dealers promoting Marble Life services are highly satisfied with the quality & support.  The Marble Life customers faces only problem with the pricing as compare with the competitor.
  • 24. 24 Summary of Learning Experience Coming to the learning experience it was a great time to be with the organisation.
  • 25. 25 Conclusions and Recommendation What I concluded from the project was that theory and practical life is something different.
