During the same week, I conducted voter registration drives at UNLV and registered eight students.
During the month of October, I also wrote many letters to the editor on the Las Vegas Sun and the
Las Vegas Review Journal regarding my opposition to the NFL stadium being built. I also attended
many legislative hearings on the stadium bill that was debated in the Nevada State Legislature.
Additionally, I attended a hearing regarding the stadium bill by the Clark County Commission over
whether or not to fund this stadium. During these hearings, I used social media to inform our
followers on Facebook and Twitter about the situation with respect to the commission's vote on the
stadium. In the same month, I helped organize a LGBT panel at UNLV that included individuals
such as our Battle Born Progress Executive Director, Annette Magnus, UNLV Spectrum (student
organization) Director Caitlyn Caruso, and former Nevada State Legislator, Lucy Flores. During the
panel's discussion, I took pictures of the guests and posted content on our social media pages. One
of the valuable things I learned when doing live tweeting is getting the main points of each person's
discussion. While at UNLV, I used this opportunity to conduct additional voter registration drives,

Harry Mason Reid, born December 2, 1939 is a U.S. Senator from Nevada and a associate of the
Democratic Party. He has remained Senate Majority Leader as of January 2007, and formerly
assisted as Minority Leader and Majority and Minority Whip. He is the third of four sons along with
his mother Inez Orena, and father Harry Reid. All of Reid's childhood was spent living in a shack
without an indoor toilet no hot water or telephone. Searchlight his home town did not have a high
school and as a result Reid lived with relatives about 40 miles away in a town called Henderson,
Nevada, and went to Basic High School. There he played football, and also participated in boxing.

The Sparks Heritage Museum is an important architectural facet of the Sparks area. The building
was built in 1931, by Rousch & Belz Contractors, and designed by Frederic J. DeLongchamps to
serve as the Sparks branch of the Washoe County Library. The building served as the first public
library in area and is located at 814 Victorian Ave, Sparks, NV (all PDF). The building was placed
on the Nation Register of Historic Places in 1984 (Website) and displays influences from the

Just raising the cost of water is not sufficient, as it does not discourage people from using more
water because they are not forced to use less. An acceptable, humane amount of water per person
should be decided upon by the water conservation act, and if this amount is exceeded, the cost for
additional gallons of water should be triple what is normally paid. This would be effective in
discouraging people from using too much water and depleting the supply. It might sound harsh, but
imagine that Lake Mead actually did dry up because of global warming. The effects of losing a
major water supply to the Southwestern United States would be devastating, and would affect many
more people than just those living in Clark County, Nevada. The question remains, how will Las
Vegas ever become conservative with its water when it is the Entertainment Capital of the World?

sciences, which would try to figure out how the accident occurs when mechanics are involved such
as cars and roads. Engineering sciences were able to help officers determine what the speed of the
vehicle was going at when the incident occurred. With their help they were able to determine the
speed of the vehicle and that it was going at a speed of 75 mph on I–15. Forensic pathology was also
necessary to determine the death of the victims and identify them for the families as well as identify
their wounds.

Las Vegas today is known as the gaming capital and the sin city of the world. Tourism drives the
economy. About 37 million people visit the city and the spending is a high of USD33.7 billion. At
least 20% of the jobs are gaming related. Even though Las Vegas held the gambling monopoly for
40 years, by 1978, there were over 19 states allowing some form of casino style gambling. However,
Las Vegas continued to outperform the rest of the states. In fact, the Las Vegas Strip's gaming

Case Study : Nevada's Licensed Brothels
It's important to recognize these biases because there isn't much press coverage about this industry
and it usually errors on the melodramatic side. On the other hand, Barbara Brents the foremost
expert on Nevada's licensed brothels, has come to very different conclusions about the state's most
controversial industry. Brents is a professor of sociology at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas
(UNLV) and she, along with her colleagues, has over 15 years of field research studying Nevada's
licensed brothels. Brents, the co–author of The State of Sex: Tourism, Sex, and Sin in the New
American Heartland describes those brothels in a very practical and academic style. Brents says,
"Sometimes I say I'm shedding light into a dark closet, a place nobody really knows what goes on
inside. And then, when you shed the light, you find out that it's not at all what you thought it was –
it's neither dangerous nor awful, nor is it as titillating."
The safety of Nevada's brothels is one of the main elements highlighted by Brents and other
researchers. For instance, Brents found that 84% of the women that she interviewed felt safe.
"Workers report that they felt safe largely because the police, employers and co–workers were there

every day and night to complete the construction. The purpose of building the dam was to provide a
reliable water supply for the southern California and control the flow of the Colorado River [1]. It is
one of the famous dams in the United States with a height of 726 feet, a length of 1244 foot, and a

provides information that was taken from the day of the trip. The power output of the dam was 395

Resources has different bureau's which addresses needs of the public. The Bureau of Children and
Families serves populations from children, youth, and adults. The Bureau of Children and Families
also ensure facilities are licensed, and the children in those facilities are safe. The licensing unit is
housed within the Bureau of Children. The expectations within the licensing unit are to ensure the
youth housed in those facilities are safe and secure within federal and state regulations. Reviews are
conducted to ensure the children's needs are being met, and that staff has completed trainings,
background checks, and APS/CPS checks. This is done to ensure that the children in state's custody
are receiving care that meets their needs.
The Community Context of Practice: The licensing unit addresses facilities across the state of West
Virginia. Also, due to children being placed out of state, workers travel out of state to those facilities
to ensure they are in compliance with West Virginia laws. The one thing that congregant care
placements lack is addressing the individual needs of each child. Also, employees at the facilities are
often neglectful, and use forceful tactics to deal with children's behaviors. This is not effective
practice and diminishes the system's theory approach
