The boiler can be defined as a device also known as steam generator that generates
steam at desired rate, temperature and pressure by burning fuels.
Boilers according to purpose:
1. Utility boilers
2. Industrial boilers
3. Marine boilers
Fire tube boiler:
A fire tube boiler is named because the product of combustion passes through its tubes
and flues which are surrounded by water
Water tube boilers:
In these types of boilers, the water flows through the tubes and flue fueles flow outside
them.

2 ton/hr. Capacity.
• It is manufactured by Wakeel &
sons.
• This high Pressurized and high
temperature steam is used for
different processing units in a
liquid medicine manufacturing
plant.

• The fuel used in this industry is the diesel.
• Firstly, pressure gage determines the pressure of the supplied fuel
• The governor then regulates the pressure of the fuel according to the boiler
requirements.
• The fire safety glass allows us to check the flame status.
• The Steam comes out at a pressure of about 6-7 bar .

10. • Water treatment generally
comprises of reverse osmosis.
• The water is sent to soaping
tank where it is further
cleaned.
• PH of the water is maintained
between 10-11. PH prevents
scaling and it is maintained
through different chemicals.
• The T.D.S. of water is
maintained btw 3000-3500.

• The Main Gate Valve is installed at the outlet of the boiler, it controls
and adjusts the flow of steam.
• Steam Separator separates the steam from the water.
• Steam Header collects stream from the boiler and supply it for the
further applications.
• The Steam traps are installed and is used to separate condensate and
steam.
• Steam Flow Meter shows the flow rate of steam produced by the boiler.

to visit Herbion Naturals (PVT)
LTD and examine the working and
components and specifications of
steam generator. We were able to
see everything we learned in class
being put into practice in a real-
world setting.
