Mohan started a diaper business in Mumbai in 1974 and later concentrated on developing an electronic mosquito destroyer called the EMD. He received financing from a private lender, Indian Bank, and Sumitomo of Japan to start production. By 1992, Good Knight had become very successful with over 2.5 lakh retail outlets, 500 distributors, and 18 branches due to aggressive marketing including TV commercials and a large market share, despite competition from other brands.
