I Hated Tonto, Still Do
The controversy surrounding race and racism has continued prosperous for years and will continue for years to come. However, racism has deeper
implications than what appears on the surface. As shown in the literary works below, misrepresentation of minority populations and unfair judgment
due to popular stereotypes instigate racism that can lead to conflicts in identity.
"I Hated Tonto, Still Do" is a piece created by Sherman Alexie describing his hatred for Tonto, an actor who looked like him and spoke like him, as he
found that Tonto was a misrepresenting portrayal of Native Americans.
In "Mother Tongue" written by Amy Tan, she discusses how the "broken" speaking of her mother induces Americans to bring upon disrespect causing

Because the image of this savage is so frequently shown, as a society, most of us think that an Indian must in fact look like that. This belief that we
hold pressures Indians to wearing that combination of clothing further discourages variety in appearance and this is detrimental to the individuals of
Native American societies as clothing is a way of expression, and by subjecting a group of people to a certain stereotypical image denys their liberties
as an American. Similarly, Alexie writes, "There must be one murder, one suicide, one attempted rape" taking into account topics of moral controversy
(21). Notice the diction that Alexie uses in the word must. There must be a murder, there must be a suicide, there must be rape. Just like African
Americans, Indians are being targeted for these depressing events happening daily. Living a life where one is never doubted for committing a crime
can have severe implications on the individual and may result in confusion in moral

Louis Theroux: The Most Hated Family In America
"The Most Hated Family in America," is a 2007 BBC documentary film by Louis Theroux, who followed members of the Westboro Baptist Church, in
Topeka, Kansas, in order to document their outrageous and controversial views. Theroux spent three weeks with the Phelps family, descendants of Fred
Phelps, who founded the Westboro Baptist Church in 1955. Members of the Westboro Baptist Church strongly believe that soldiers killed in combat, are
God's punishment for homosexuality and the increased support and acceptance of homosexuality in America. They display their views by having
anti–gay protests and picketing the funerals of veterans, with signs like "God Hates Fags" and "Thank God for Dead Soldiers." Theroux tells Shirley,
the daughter of Fred Phelps, that the church's protests are most likely putting people off the word of Jesus Christ, and she responds by saying their job

They display themselves as "Holy–rollers" while spreading hate. I don't understand the views of the Westboro Baptist Church because they seem to be
completely opposite of the teachings of Christianity. If given the opportunity, I would tell the members of the church that they need to refer back to
Matthew 7:1, James 4:11, and Luke 6:37, and work on themselves, before they try to tell someone that they are "going to Hell." I would then
commend Theroux, for lasting three weeks around the Phelp's family. Watching this documentary helped me to understand how people manipulate the
bible, and any other holy book, to fit their agenda. What is understood from the bible is up to interpretation, and it is easy for someone to twist the
words of the bible to support their beliefs. Although I completely disagree with the teachings of the Westboro Baptist Church, I enjoyed watching this
video because it shows that not everyone who can quote the bible should be allowed to teach the word of

I Have Always Hated Writing Essay
I have always hated writing. I never knew where to start and always ended up off topic. Even in middle school writing was never fun for. I never had
an interest in writing about something I didn't like, know, or had any kind of interest in. Every year I would have different writing assignments that I
thought was difficult to do. I would turn my papers in only to get a low grade in return. When I first started writing I could only write about topics I
could relate to. This limited my writing skills because I had many classes that uninterested me, like religion or any type of writing classes. I would
turn in my paper and get back a grade that was lower than was hoping for. Then I would read through my paper and notice many mistakes that I
overlooked. It was very disorganized and even sometimes off topic. My papers always sounded way better before I turned them in. I figured that I
was good at writing about personal topics because I had a good understanding of those. My first improvement to my writing skills was doing
research. I always research the topic to make sure I have some type of understanding that way the writing comes easy and my paper makes sense.
Another issue was disorganization. My information in my paper would be all over the place. I had to develop the habit of using an outline. I would
go online and download a blank outline and fill in my paper. Class after class I would receive essay assignments. I eventually had to come to the sad
reality that I would have to

Minimum Of 10 Indications Of Prejudice : The Most Hated...
Identify a minimum of 10 indications of prejudice.
The Most Hated Homophobic family in america
In the video with the westboro baptist family church they hate all gays and homosexuals.
(1.)(2.)(3.)Their picket signs showed a man lean over and another man behind him indicating what she called homosexual act that all gays are doing is
just her own prejudices and beliefs that homosexual is nasty it is her own idea. Stereotype two all those in the act of sexualness not between one man
and one woman are condemned and going to hell. One of her own prejudices is that god hates all gays. She mentioned that being gay was also a sin
again very prejudice. She stated to the interviewer that married men are going behind the wife's back and are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Me calling her crazy is changing my schema from an observer to talking bad about the lady. I think they are hated family for a real
reason.(7.)Prejudice is natural because everyone can be prejudice so maybe it is maybe it is not it's who the person deciding to be prejudice decides
if they want to be prejudiced or not. (8.)The video influences my behavior to redirect my attention somewhere else. I got exhausted from watching the
entire long length video. (9.) Stereotypes are mostly wrong if they a generated to be the world norm of a certain race or group because not every race or
group and person are all going to fit into one stereotype. Stop the stereotyping that is violent and harmful it is okay to observe patterns but even those
change and so do stereotypes. They need to stop.
Unexpected racism of tv show
(1.)(2.)(3.)The polynesian man speaking had lots of things to say about black people he did not like blacks because they always feel the world owe
them something. I don't feel or think the world owes me nothing and i am a black person. This stereotype is not true at all and the black man stood
up against this racist polynesian man. He said he is a minority and where he from the islands that the experiences that he has had with blacks shapes
is reasoning why he does not like all black people. (4.)He basically stated clearly why his schema is the way that it is because of his bad experiences
that's not to say that everyone has bad

Indira Gandhi was a Loved, Hated, and Respected Leader of...
"All my games were political games; I was, like Joan Of Arc, perpetually being burned at the stake." These are meaningful words of the ever so
loved, hated, and looked up to woman of India: Indira Gandhi. Indira Ghil;678andhi, as the late prime minister of India, is still is remembered to this
day for the impact she had on the world. As the prime minister of India during a time of political turmoil and being a vulnerable target, it was hard for
her to use her power for benefits. Although the obstacles that made her struggle, she maintained standing her ground and ended up leading India to
where they are today politically. Indira Gandhi was born on November 19, 1917 to Jawaharlal Nehru and Kamala Nehru. Indira was practically born
into the political world. Her father, Jawaharlal Nehru, was the first prime minister of India. Indira was constantly around politics and became very
used to the idea of what being a prime minister is like. Indira was mostly taught by tutors in her home growing up. When she did attend school it
was not year round. This let her spend as much time at home with one on one tutors as much as she needed to. As a child, the only time she was
around her father was when he wasn't away because of his job. Most of her childhood, she was home with her mother, Kamala. It was hard for Indira
most of the time because while her father was always working and not home, her mother was bed ridden because of multiple illnesses. Although her

Comparing Mark And Amy Bishop Hated Their New Neighbors
Mark and Amy Bishop hated their new neighbors, they had only been here for less than a month and already they found them loud rude and
completely into themselves. Each day they found themselves finding another problem, another subtle nuisance that that made their blood boil. "I
can't believe their playing music at this time of hour" "don't they know other people are trying to sleep" Amy would complain. They just let their
trash pile up outside it makes our entire neighborhood look bad Mark would say as He looked out the window to see the mountain of trash that
had been made from old pizza boxes and half drunken beer bottles and although Mark and Amy would try to ignore to the best of their ability they
found themselves all too often at ends with them. I "just want to tell them off, you know like who do you people think you are?" Mark was going
off one his rants again, the same rant he would always go off on since the neighbors moved. Amy rolled her eyes "of course dear you'd show them",
"I mean it",,Mark was getting red "They just walk around like they own the place". "Just watch the TV please" Amy responded "we both know you
can't say anything" "yea replied gruffly" "That doesn 't mean I don 't want too". Sitting on the couch Mark and Amy had been watching some nature

THE MOST HATED MAN IN TOWN
THE MOST HATED MAN IN TOWN... 500 words
As a young child, he was beaten, humiliated and grew up feeling unloved and degraded. His one wish was that when he grew up, he would have many
people who loved him.
The irony of life.
I had been living in Aspen, Colorado, for about six months and writing feature stories for the local newspaper. My assignment was to find interesting
locals to write about.
One day while riding down Main Street, I saw a police officer directing traffic and wondered what it would be like to be a part of a famous ski resort's
police force. I ran the idea past my editor, he waved me onward. I arranged to do a ride a long and found myself in a squad car a few days later.
I asked him about his life before ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His voice became sad as told me about his dysfuncitonal childhood growing up feeling unloved, especially by his mother. His main wish for his future
rolled up with the hope that he would have a lot of friends and people who loved him.
Interesting enough he created the opposite. Marc accepted an assignment that brought him to Aspen as an undercover narc, lived among the drug
community for approximately 8 months and when he surfaced, he busted all the people he had been hanging out with during this time. People he did
dope with, partied with and skied with.
All his time undercover, was quite lonely as he only had one contact in town who knew about his assignment and at times felt quite isolated from the
world..
Aspen was a very tight knit community in those days and people of all socio economic levels interacted. Not only were the drug people incensed
about what he did but he was surprised at the ill will of the straight part of the community.
In spite of all the hatred people felt toward him, he chose to stay in town and joined the Aspen Police Department.
He cleared his throat and said, ""They tried to kill me."" It was hard for me to believe tthat could happen in this community; however, after we got into
the meat of the story, I more than believed him.
Mark felt ostracizsed where ever he would go in town. People slipped drugs in his drinks when he went to bars and set him for fights. After

Alice Hated Imperfect, Sloppy Looking Reports More Than...
Alice hated imperfect, sloppy looking reports more than she hated lateness. The idea of a misspelling, or an incorrect photo, a missing chart, or
God–forbid an incorrect color scheme–that would send her into a frenzy. So much so, she would stay up all night on her stylish, albeit uncomfortable
sofa, with her laptop neatly placed on her legs working on her report until every single detail was exactly the way she envisioned it.
When it come to her work, Alice wouldn't except anything less than perfect. Although this didn't spill into all areas of her life (her apartment was
always a mess with laundry pilled high for weeks on end, and she always took days to reply to non–work related texts), but it was exactly this striving

Max doesn't know why Alice works so hard, admittedly she has a good job that isn't easy to come by, but she doesn't earn commission on the
properties, and that's where the money is made. He also doesn't completely understand why instead of having an alcohol infused night out (with the
added potential to meet the love of her life), Alice will spend the night working on a report just to give to Cameron. Max doesn't push her further on
the matter because Alice will say the same thing; that Cameron is going to be a partner soon, and then she'll get a promotion and the commission will
be rolling in, but Max knows that's not solely the case. It's true that Cameron is intended to make partner, and Alice will be in line for a promotion, but
her relationship with Cameron is somewhat complicated. On the surface its simple–Alice and Cameron are two friends that work together and have
known each other since college (a now distance memory). Alice dated Cameron's roommate for 4 years and he was the one to introduce them. They
appear to others like close friends, relatives even. Cameron has said that Alice is like his sister to others, though he might not say it to Alice for fear of
pushing her away, and Alice would never imply that Cameron is like a brother because that would rule out any romantic involvement between them.It
isn't crazy that

Mary Tudor: The Most Hated Queen In British History
Mary Tudor was the most hated Queen in British history. England was complete chaos because of her. She was born on February 18, 1516, at the
Palace of Placentia in Greenwich, England. She took the throne in 1553, when she was the first queen regnant of England and Ireland. She died at
St. James Palace in London on November 17, 1558. She was the only child of King Henry VIIIn and the sister of Queen Elizabeth. She was
baptized as a Catholic shortly after her birth. Mary had endured several false pregnancies and was suffering from what may have been uterine or
ovarian cancer. She was unable to have children, this is why it is speculated that she chanted "I stole your baby!!" Her nickname Bloody Mary came
from the number of Protestant Tudors who were executed during her reign. The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

flesh. Bloody Mary created such terror. "There were nearly 300 burnt in about three and a half years in Mary's reign, which was actually more
than the Spanish Inquisition and the French Chamber Ardente put together the same period." Mary never forgave her father for divorcing her
mom. She didn't accept his break with Rome either. She set out on a mission to return to England to the Church of Rome. This caused death of
innocent people who Mary saw sinful due to their lack of faith in the catholic religion. Mary's religious perspectives made her extremely unpopular.
There is lots of myths and made up stories about "Bloody Mary" that have been carried on throughout the years. I believe that this is the real story
of Bloody Mary. They say that if you hold a lit candle or a light into a mirror in a dark room while chanting "Bloody Mary" 3 times.. she will appear in

President Obama Hated On Friday Essay
President Obama hated on Friday what he called a Republican (series of actions to reach a goal) to deny voting rights to millions of Americans as he
stepped up efforts to motivate and excite his political base heading into a competitive midterm campaign season.

"The right to vote is threatened today in a way that it has not been since the Voting Rights Act became law nearly fifty years ago," Mr. Obama said in
a hotel large room (for dancing) filled with cheering supporters, most of them African–American. "Across the country, Republicans have led efforts to
pass laws making it harder, not easier, for people to vote."
Speaking a day after a (meeting to discuss things/meeting together) in Texas remembering (with honor) the 50th (yearly recognition or celebration) of
the Civil Rights Act, Mr. Obama linked the issue to the movement that helped pave the way for him to become the nation 's first black president.

kids and their (children of children)," he said.

College Admissions Essay: Why I Hated My Life
I hated my body growing up. My nearly 6–foot frame made it awkward to fit in with my classmates, as I towered over a majority of my peers and
teachers at the tender age of twelve. If my height did not distract them, my massive build did, as the chorus of "Whale" and "Lard" was uttered
behind my back multiple times per week. Notes soon began pouring into my locker full of vicious and vile words that no twelve–year–old should
recognize. Full of the appalling and disgusting acts they wished to enforce on me, because of my size. At this point in my life, I felt trapped. A

The Importance Of Hate Speech
"The way that you know he`s failing is I`d almost still bang him. It`s just.....it`s just a man in a dress, isn't it? " said Milo Yiannopoulos while giving a
speech at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee where he denigrated a transgender university student in front of everyone showing her picture on an
enormous screen. Not only Milo, but there are numerous people in our society who misuses the right of free speech by using hateful and awful words
in their speech in the name of Free Speech. Even the Congress does not take any action against the hateful speech, but the public tries their best to stop
the hate speech. However, it is the government`s responsibility to protect its citizens from any mishappenings. Speech in the United States is as free as
it could ever be because Congress does not violate what an individual says, regardless of how odious; although, U.S. government should take crucial
steps against hate speech.

Analysis of Hughes's You Hated Spain
In You Hated Spain, Hughes explores the character of a woman and her relationship with her husband. You Hated Spain is set during the honeymoon of
Plath and Hughes and is part of Hughes' collection of poems titled Birthday Letters. Plath's suicide was the result of a forced breakdown of
communication with Hughes. Hughes' use of free verse and enjambement creates a natural progression of thoughts. The autobiographical,
'letter–writing' genre suggests that these poems are a form of therapy, used to communicate Hughes' unresolved feelings to a fictional Plath. You Hated

Hughes further depicts the woman as being unaccustomed to Spain. He inserts imagery of unknown and foreign things which she is unable to forge
relations with. Hughes introduces this in the beginning of the poem, "The wrought–iron grille, death and the Arab drum". The list of three is a tableau
encompassing theSpanish history. The dissonance of "wrought–iron grille" creates an unpleasant and sombre tone and connotes imagery of prison bars.
The noun "death" connotes darkness, sorrow and pain and links to the Spanish Civil War, the Peninsular War and World War II. However, the woman
fails to acknowledge that violence, struggle and pain exist in her homeland too, merely viewing it as a clean and honest country. The "Arab drum"
hints at the existence of diverse cultures and races in contrast to the 1950s largely white America. The reader feels sympathetic to the woman as she
has been uprooted from her idea of normality. Hughes also stresses that the woman cannot tolerate residing in Spain. Hughes states that "... the welding
light Made your blood shrivel." Hughes' choice to use "welding" is significant as it is an industrial term suggesting that the heat is unbearably
scorching and savage. The

A former member of the Westboro baptist church, Lauren Drains, believes the former Westboro leader,Fred Phelps, was homosexual orientation. She

Since the early 1990s, the car market has become saturated with sport utility vehicles. While SUV's have been enthusiastically received by a wide
spectrum of the demographic – everyone from teenagers to soccer moms –– not all are excited by its arrival. Some of the current complaints with SUVs
have to do with their ridiculous size and relative fuel inefficiency. Others criticize the vehicles as being unsafe, and certainly unnecessary, for the tasks
for which they are commonly used. But even with the recent campaigns to educate the public on the possible physical and environmental risks posed

It is apparent that safety is on the minds of SUV and car drivers alike. The anti–SUV argument gives statistics that show SUVs high center of gravity
that makes them prone to flipping. These statistics also show that rollovers account for a large portion of vehicle deaths (National Highway Traffic
Safety Administration) . A solid argument is made by showing that lots of deaths are due to vehicle rollovers because SUV's account for the majority
of these types of crashes. Other stats show that in crashes containing both SUVs and cars the car generally loses. There are some problems with the
statistics used by anti–SUV groups. Some statistics are not brought up when discussing personal safety because they would weaken the argument being
made. By only telling part of the statistics the argument is flawed because it is built on numbers that are slanted. The anti–SUV arguments are not lying
when they say that SUVs are less safe than cars; as a general rule, this is true. However, in the case of a SUV versus car crash, the SUV is safer: The
occupant death rate in SUVs is 6 percent higher than it is for cars – 8 percent higher in the largest SUVs. The main reason is that SUVs carry a high
risk of rollover; 62 percent of SUV deaths in 2000 occurred in rollover accidents." (Mencimer)
Personal safety is very important to most people; using this pathos base, a logos argument is built by showing how driving a SUV is not as safe for the

The Radical Enlightenment Hated Everything That Was Religion
REL 2011 Midterm Essay
QUESTION 2 The radical Enlightenment hated everything that was religion. This was a time where scientific naturalism was being applied to every
field of inquiry and everything, including religion, was under scrutiny. The philosophers during the Enlightenment each had their reasons for their
hostile view of religion. The distaste for religion began when Reimarus wrote "", which was published for the first time in 1972 and had 1400
pages of content. His book labeled the second coming of Christ a farce, he believed that the disciples stole the body of Christ and fabricated the
resurrection. Reimarus accused the disciples of using the idea of Christ coming back as a way to maintain a sense of power. He went as far as ... Show

Kant's stance leaned more towards understanding morality. He stated that you cannot go to religion for morality, due to it being the death of morality
itself. Moreover, Kant sheds light on the imperfections of the Bible. He viewed the God of the Bible in a different perspective, calling him an arbitrary
tyrant. A god that commands his followers to kill, to sacrifice, and one that damns people to hellfire. These statements by Kant led people to think that
religion altogether must be eliminated and people should focus more on reason rather than revelation. Schleiermacher and Hagel had a different view
of the radical Enlightenment and points made during it. Schleiermacher believed that Kant is undermining reason. He believes Kant is wrong because
in his view religion is ethics and the enlightenment has the wrong idea by trying to throw our religion. He understands the concept of god has to be
interpreted if we want to keep it. Schleiermacher wants to keep religion, not let it go the way the Enlightenment wants to, he wants to keep Christianity
and wants us to rethink Christianity. Hagel as well wants to be the savior of Christianity, he wants to rescue to the content. He sees the Enlightenment
as a necessary step in the development of god. Because we are a manifestation of the absolute, that's what the kingdom of god means, this world and
this process, it is the unfolding of the will of god and we are the agents of that process.

The Most Hated, Adolf Hitler
Adolf Hitler, one of the most hated men in history of the world, deemed Wilson examines the "Demon King of history" (pg. 185) in a new light in
"Hitler". A. N. Wilson, a prestigious, award winning biographer, took on this task, giving a short biography on Hitler, rather than the typical portion
of history taking place during World War II that most people are familiar with, he analyzes Hitler's entire life. The major points that Wilson discusses
in his book, which are very controversial in the world we live in today, are Hitler's idea of anti–Semitism and the concept that although Hitler was an
ordinary individual he had extraordinary abilities, which allowed for his great successes. The final concept that Wilson brings to the book is Hitler's
idea of Darwinism in society. Throughout the life of Hitler, many different factors led to his anti–Semitism views and the eventual genocide of the
Jewish population. This "hatred of the Jews was one important element in his early rise power" (pg. 4). Hitler was raised in a lower middle class

National Prohibition Was Loved By Many And Hated By Others
National Prohibition was loved by some and hated by others. According to Reverend Floyd W. Tomkins national Prohibition was a utilitarian necessity
that America needed. Tomkins recognized the "menace of intoxicating drink to the peace and safety of a community." His view was that the
consumption of alcohol could not be done in moderation and could not be confined to dive establishments. Tomkins saw alcohol as an infections
disease that infiltrated peoples family's and homes which in turn ruined their lives. Manufacturing businesses were also generally in favor of
Prohibition. General manager N.G. Spangler of The Jackson Iron and Steel Co. reaped the benefits that came from nationwide alcohol banning.
Spangler elaborates on how Prohibition... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These men were more focused on their family and improving their lives and planning for their family's future. Prohibition also received praise from the
citizens. It was an act of sacrificing their own desires, because "it has made very difficult the acquisition by them of the means wherewith to satisfy
their destructive thirst." In combining these opinions one can conclude that Prohibition despite the opposition it faces that it had thus been successful
and was there to stay. The utilitarian perspective of Prohibition supports the belief that the enactment of the 18th Amendment was a triumph for society.
During the same year as Tomkins, W. H. Stayton, member of the Association Against the Prohibition Amendment published a rebuttal to the argument
of the 18th Amendment being a positive addition to the American legislature. Stayton realizes the dangers of excessive drinking but identifies
Prohibition as an experiment by a legislature that has a distorted vision. Rather than banning liquor manufacturing Stayton suggests that there be an
investigation into why excessive drinking occurs in order to control the source. Stayton believes that rather than having an absolute prohibition there
should be regulation and restriction. His article seeks to answer the questions as to if national prohibition laws had thus far accomplished d their
purpose? Are there any benefits? The original intent of the Prohibition laws was to stop the use of

I 've Always Hated How Being Smart Is Taboo
I 've always hated how being smart is taboo. I can remember countless times my teachers would tell me "that 's not important" or "that doesn 't
matter" when I would ask one of the burning questions that popped into my head. In some of my classes, I was even told not to ask questions at
all. So in class I would sit, silenced by the figures who should have given me a voice. Finally by eighth grade, I got mad; my teacher was especially
cruel, and I was not the only one who felt their education was being compromised. With all the pent up anger, I decided to take my education into my
own hands. I studied. I 'd spend all nighters watching Crash Course and ASAP Science; Hank Green became my new best friend. I felt empowered as

Miles hated hiding, there 's just something about not facing a problem head on that wasn 't his style. He felt like a coward hiding in the bushes,
but he had no choice the enemy, he was facing was like no other he faced in the past. This was the first time he had ever faced a foe and felt fear.
Miles slowly crept out of his hiding place to take a quick scan of his surroundings, he was in a bush that was part of a ring of trees surrounding a
clearing. In the center of the clearing laid a small box resting upon a wooden pillar. Miles got up and started sprinting in pursuit of the object until he

College Admissions Essay: I Never Hated High School
I never hated high school. I never dreaded going to class. Although I never loved high school either. I never understood people who said "this is
the time of your life." Something significantly more had to be in the universe than the four years I would spend in high school. College, on the
other hand, gives me a sense of purpose. I feel that I am diligently working hard to secure a future for myself. High schools have a set core of classes
that each student must take and pass, mandated by the government. There is very little flexibility or creativity a student has to use as an outlet, class
wise. Students must all learn the same materials, regardless of future life goals. The objective of the class load in high school is to pass

Essay about Life Hated Mary Grace
Small drops of rain fell from the gray clouds outside the funeral home window. How fitting. This is the perfect weather for a funeral, isn't it?
Gloomy, dark, you name it. It didn't matter though. No one was affected by the sound of the rain. Nobody cared. Everybody, including me, was
too busy missing Margaret Grace. If only Margaret Grace was still here. She loved the rain because there would always be a rainbow after. She was a
happy person. Wow, I have to use the word "was" now, don't I? Her smile used to spread like wildfire; everybody else would smile too. She had a
natural glow. Every time she walks into the room, all the attention would be directed to her. She was loved by everyone, judging by the amount of

The biggest change was her smile. Before, her smile would be on her face all the time, but then her stunning smiles would appear less and less.
Soon, there wasn't a smile at all. Every time I visited her at the hospital, I would find her looking out the window. It's the same view everyday, so I
don't know why she keeps looking out there. Nothing changes outside that window for the most part. I would visit her five times a week, and each
time I see her, sadly, she looks more and more dead, which is clearly not a good thing. Her skin started to become translucent, her breathing became
raggedy as if it hurt, her limbs were becoming thin and bony as if she didn't eat, and it was as if that only her body was alive, not her soul. She let
the illness come and take her; she let herself become the illness. At that point in time, a smile was very rare, so I tried to tell her the funniest stories
and cheerful stories from school. Every time her soft, tinkling laugh filled the air–which wasn't often–I would feel as if there would be hope that she
would come back to school with good health and be herself again, but that was just a wish of mine. There was one day in particular that I will never
forget. It was a rainy Wednesday and as usual, I would go to the hospital and visit her. Usually, when I knock on the door and open it, she's looking

I Hated Her With A Passion
January 2nd 2014 Grimmway Penitentiary
I hated her with a passion.
I've wanted to cut her face into miniature pieces using a butcher knife and break her fingers off one by sandwiching it between a car door. I think
I've killed her many, many times in my mind over the past 8 years. Silently. Painfully. Every time I looked at her, my face would turn crimson red
with supressed burning rage. The bullshit that she sprouted would make me feel like as though a volcano was erupting inside of me; anger radiating
out of me like ferocious waves.
Even though I had shared the same womb as Aleena; I've never once considered us as sisters– in fact it was the complete opposite. One day I snapped;
I finally became a human being.

In the summer sun, her hair was bleached to a lighter shade of gold; not evenly, but in perfect streaks, leaving warm caramels in between that

Unlike me.
I weighed 82kg and I was 157cm tall. Yes, I was short and plump but some others would have called my shape sensual and voluptuous– in other
words, revolting. I had hair that looked like beached kelp after a storm – tumbled and tangled. An amorphous blob. It was jet black and covered with

What Are Two Reasons Why Mrs Ceracaroni Hated Magic
Mrs. Ceccaroni hated magic. Hated even the smallest whisper of fairy tales. So it was no surprise that when the little Samariah Belloc came into her
kindergarten class speaking of fairies in the garden, and gnomes on the jungle gym, that she was determined to squash that sort of thinking out of her
classroom. That was why she became a kindergarten teacher: to squash the individuality out of a child early enough that by the time they were an
adult, they would be a functioning member of society. Mrs. Ceccaroni had tackled some pretty tough cases before; a student who claimed that she was

Vladimir Putin, The Most Hated Man Of His Time
Vladimir Putin, who is the president of Russia, the man that is held responsible for tearing Ukraine apart into a battlefield. The eastern region of
Ukraine withheld a city (Crimea), which became the headlines of all western and global war for its significant role in the Ukrainian–Russian Conflict.
This was due to the city that was being fought over by the two countries. As Russia's president, Vladimir Putin was bashed by the world for being the
new modern Hitler; which Hilary Clinton had compared Putin's strategical methods on this crisis to. She compared it to the similar Nazi's of
1930; which she had said in her speech at the University of California. Although, no one can really understand why Vladimir Putin was the most
hated man of his time. Later it became evident that it was because of the propaganda that was created by the western media and news. We must
really think the fundamentals as to why Putin really entered Crimea, and who really is behind the new regime that has settled in Ukraine as well as
which part of the world is standing behind Ukraine. Former President Viktor Yankovich made a phone call to Vladimir Putin seeking help. He had
called while he was in hiding fleeing to Russia right after that conversation, around a two years ago shortly after over a 100 people were killed in a

Common Attributes of Peter Carey's Short Stories Essay
The Collected Stories of Peter Carey
An analysis of several of the stories in The Collected Stories of Peter Carey reveals numerous common attributes, leading to the aspects of entrapment
and isolation appearing as common aspects of the stories. These come across in both the physical and mental form. Often the entire experience of
entrapment and isolation is the result of the interaction of both forms.
The quality of entrapment seen throughout Crabs, Peeling and A Fat Man in History relies on lies. In Crabs, the main character and his girlfriend
become "stranded" at the drive in after their car parts have been stolen and the manager of the drive in tells them there is no way that they can leave, in
effect lying to them. The same form ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Instead, they stay inside the house unless working or involved in some scheme to steal or gather supplies for a highly irrational rebellion. Finally, in
Peeling the man is not physically trapped in his room, yet due to his unemployment he rarely leaves the house. The thick fog of the London day
feeds the idea of the physical side of entrapment. The frame of mind shown by the narrator due to this feeling is one that might be adopted by a
person with a terminal illness or a criminal on death row; it's the attitude of someone who knows their life will be over soon. This mindset is one of
everything must be superficial and savoured, that life shouldn't be rushed and moments of seriousness can be left to rot.
Love and inter–character relationships cause the characters of each story to become both isolated and entrapped within themselves. Peeling shows
the reader the effect of love on the narrator, as he knows exactly what Nile is doing by listening only to her footprints, although they are both
physically isolated the majority of the time. He isolates himself from her in his entrapped mindset, not wishing to discuss such deep, serious things as
feelings for abortion babies and their souls, yet loves her, or at least lusts after her, enough to know her schedule, talk with her about the mundane
going on in life and tell what she'd doing when she's rearranging the dolls on the floor above. It's only when the narrator is freed of his self–deception,

My Mom Hated Me Essay
Growing up I was an abused child who wanted nothing more than to break free of the horrible torture that was imposed on me every day of my

When I would escape I would go to my best friend's house. Her mother Denise despised my mother and always said that if she could adopt me that she

unspeakable obscenities. She knew that I would have rather been with my best friend's family than with her, and she would accuse me of not having a

I didn't care what she thought; in my eyes she was the monster; she was the one who couldn't accept the blame for anything. She was the one that would

It was obvious to me that my mother had a serious problem. The drugs that she would take just to get through the day and the abusive childhood had

Why I Have Hated Writing For So Many Years?
When did I realize why I have hated writing for so many years? Well, it was a Monday afternoon in the beginning of my senior year. Walking into
to my last class of the day, I realized I was in an exceptionally good mood. Soon I would no longer have to sit in these uncomfortable chairs of my
school. The classrooms of Blackstone Valley Tech were no different to jail cells; the concrete walls covered in cream paint, the yellow tile which
seems to break everyone's' phones and the lack of windows, restricting the outside view. I sat one of the blue plastic chairs with metal legs in the
back corner of my English class. The teacher, Mr. Kehowski, comes bolting in the room with a pile of papers in his hand. He was a tall man of
normal build, had thinning hair, almost balding. His eyes were sharp and his nose pointy, wearing the usual; a sweater vest and khakis. This man
was always jittering and super enthusiastic, which seemed to be a side effect of the 10 cups of coffee he had to drink each day. His voice was
deep and slightly raspy, similar to the voice of a smoker. Mr. Kehowski walked around the room frantically, passing out the papers he had earlier
possessed in his hands. He slammed the papers one by one on each of the 20 students desks. When I received my graded writing assignment, I
skimmed over it. I was so excited to see how well I did; there was only one red mark on my paper, which was crossing out the first sentence. But

The Most Hated Family In America The topic of homosexuality has been a very hot topic over the past several decades. The term homosexuality can
be defined as the "sexual desire or behavior towards a person or persons of one's own sex" ("Homosexuality"). There are many people who either
agree or disagree with the aspect of homosexuality, and there are others who are indifferent. Many Christian churches around the world, especially in
the United States, have stated their opinion against homosexuality. They based their beliefs in the verses in 1st Corinthians 6: 9–10, which says, "Or

If one reads this manual, especially how the Baptists base their doctrine, one would see that the Westboro Baptist Church is wrong in many aspects, to
such extent that they should not be called Baptists. The Westboro Baptist Church's main purpose is to promote hate; hate towards America, towards
the world, and towards anybody who lives in this world and accepts homosexuality, or "fags" as they call them, into our society ("God Hates Fags").
They use picketing as a source to express their opinion is a very hateful way, to the point that it makes any person passing by uncomfortable and even
express their anger towards them. In "The Most Hated Family In America" film, there are several instances where one can see the Phelps family
discouraging the population by yelling that they are all going to hell, and that God hates this world for accepting the ways of the world. They don't
care if the person is Christian or not, according to them, the world has no salvation (Theroux). In page 62 of the Baptist manual, it states that Baptist
should believe in "justification", because it "includes that pardon of sin" (Hiscox). This is clear evidence that the Westboro church does not go by the
manual of Baptists. The most horrifying thing that these people do is to picket at soldier funerals. With a smile on their faces and joy in their hearts,

When I got up to the front I started to freak out. I was sweating up a storm, and continued to do so for the next few periods, and I started to freak
out. My entire speech, the one that I had practically memorized, flew out the window, and I had no idea what I was going to say. I started to rush
dramatically, and even started stuttering over my words. I've never stuttered over my words in my life. I was absolutely terrified up there, and I
knew that it was going awful. I've never experienced that while giving a speech, so I hope to remedy that next time. There are lots of times in the
real world were you will have to, in some way or another, give a type of speech to let others know about you. When you meet new people the first
few words out of your mouth are going to leave an impression. Even if it's not a planned speech, it's going to tell them a lot about who you are. You
have to learn to present

I Hated Tonto, Still Do

  • 1. I Hated Tonto, Still Do The controversy surrounding race and racism has continued prosperous for years and will continue for years to come. However, racism has deeper implications than what appears on the surface. As shown in the literary works below, misrepresentation of minority populations and unfair judgment due to popular stereotypes instigate racism that can lead to conflicts in identity. "I Hated Tonto, Still Do" is a piece created by Sherman Alexie describing his hatred for Tonto, an actor who looked like him and spoke like him, as he found that Tonto was a misrepresenting portrayal of Native Americans. In "Mother Tongue" written by Amy Tan, she discusses how the "broken" speaking of her mother induces Americans to bring upon disrespect causing Tan to realize ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Because the image of this savage is so frequently shown, as a society, most of us think that an Indian must in fact look like that. This belief that we hold pressures Indians to wearing that combination of clothing further discourages variety in appearance and this is detrimental to the individuals of Native American societies as clothing is a way of expression, and by subjecting a group of people to a certain stereotypical image denys their liberties as an American. Similarly, Alexie writes, "There must be one murder, one suicide, one attempted rape" taking into account topics of moral controversy (21). Notice the diction that Alexie uses in the word must. There must be a murder, there must be a suicide, there must be rape. Just like African Americans, Indians are being targeted for these depressing events happening daily. Living a life where one is never doubted for committing a crime can have severe implications on the individual and may result in confusion in moral ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Louis Theroux: The Most Hated Family In America "The Most Hated Family in America," is a 2007 BBC documentary film by Louis Theroux, who followed members of the Westboro Baptist Church, in Topeka, Kansas, in order to document their outrageous and controversial views. Theroux spent three weeks with the Phelps family, descendants of Fred Phelps, who founded the Westboro Baptist Church in 1955. Members of the Westboro Baptist Church strongly believe that soldiers killed in combat, are God's punishment for homosexuality and the increased support and acceptance of homosexuality in America. They display their views by having anti–gay protests and picketing the funerals of veterans, with signs like "God Hates Fags" and "Thank God for Dead Soldiers." Theroux tells Shirley, the daughter of Fred Phelps, that the church's protests are most likely putting people off the word of Jesus Christ, and she responds by saying their job is not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They display themselves as "Holy–rollers" while spreading hate. I don't understand the views of the Westboro Baptist Church because they seem to be completely opposite of the teachings of Christianity. If given the opportunity, I would tell the members of the church that they need to refer back to Matthew 7:1, James 4:11, and Luke 6:37, and work on themselves, before they try to tell someone that they are "going to Hell." I would then commend Theroux, for lasting three weeks around the Phelp's family. Watching this documentary helped me to understand how people manipulate the bible, and any other holy book, to fit their agenda. What is understood from the bible is up to interpretation, and it is easy for someone to twist the words of the bible to support their beliefs. Although I completely disagree with the teachings of the Westboro Baptist Church, I enjoyed watching this video because it shows that not everyone who can quote the bible should be allowed to teach the word of ... • 3. I Have Always Hated Writing Essay I have always hated writing. I never knew where to start and always ended up off topic. Even in middle school writing was never fun for. I never had an interest in writing about something I didn't like, know, or had any kind of interest in. Every year I would have different writing assignments that I thought was difficult to do. I would turn my papers in only to get a low grade in return. When I first started writing I could only write about topics I could relate to. This limited my writing skills because I had many classes that uninterested me, like religion or any type of writing classes. I would turn in my paper and get back a grade that was lower than was hoping for. Then I would read through my paper and notice many mistakes that I overlooked. It was very disorganized and even sometimes off topic. My papers always sounded way better before I turned them in. I figured that I was good at writing about personal topics because I had a good understanding of those. My first improvement to my writing skills was doing research. I always research the topic to make sure I have some type of understanding that way the writing comes easy and my paper makes sense. Another issue was disorganization. My information in my paper would be all over the place. I had to develop the habit of using an outline. I would go online and download a blank outline and fill in my paper. Class after class I would receive essay assignments. I eventually had to come to the sad reality that I would have to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

(8.)The video influences my behavior to redirect my attention somewhere else. I got exhausted from watching the entire long length video. (9.) Stereotypes are mostly wrong if they a generated to be the world norm of a certain race or group because not every race or group and person are all going to fit into one stereotype. Stop the stereotyping that is violent and harmful it is okay to observe patterns but even those change and so do stereotypes. They need to stop. I don't feel or think the world owes me nothing and i am a black person. This stereotype is not true at all and the black man stood up against this racist polynesian man. He said he is a minority and where he from the islands that the experiences that he has had with blacks shapes is reasoning why he does not like all black people. • 5. Indira Gandhi was a Loved, Hated, and Respected Leader of... "All my games were political games; I was, like Joan Of Arc, perpetually being burned at the stake." These are meaningful words of the ever so loved, hated, and looked up to woman of India: Indira Gandhi. Indira Ghil;678andhi, as the late prime minister of India, is still is remembered to this day for the impact she had on the world. As the prime minister of India during a time of political turmoil and being a vulnerable target, it was hard for her to use her power for benefits. Although the obstacles that made her struggle, she maintained standing her ground and ended up leading India to where they are today politically. Indira Gandhi was born on November 19, 1917 to Jawaharlal Nehru and Kamala Nehru. Indira was practically born into the political world. Her father, Jawaharlal Nehru, was the first prime minister of India. Indira was constantly around politics and became very used to the idea of what being a prime minister is like. Indira was mostly taught by tutors in her home growing up. When she did attend school it was not year round. This let her spend as much time at home with one on one tutors as much as she needed to. As a child, the only time she was around her father was when he wasn't away because of his job. Most of her childhood, she was home with her mother, Kamala. It was hard for Indira most of the time because while her father was always working and not home, her mother was bed ridden because of multiple illnesses. Although her mother being sick, ... • 6. Comparing Mark And Amy Bishop Hated Their New Neighbors Mark and Amy Bishop hated their new neighbors, they had only been here for less than a month and already they found them loud rude and completely into themselves. Each day they found themselves finding another problem, another subtle nuisance that that made their blood boil. "I can't believe their playing music at this time of hour" "don't they know other people are trying to sleep" Amy would complain. They just let their trash pile up outside it makes our entire neighborhood look bad Mark would say as He looked out the window to see the mountain of trash that had been made from old pizza boxes and half drunken beer bottles and although Mark and Amy would try to ignore to the best of their ability they found themselves all too often at ends with them. I "just want to tell them off, you know like who do you people think you are?" Mark was going off one his rants again, the same rant he would always go off on since the neighbors moved. Amy rolled her eyes "of course dear you'd show them", "I mean it",,Mark was getting red "They just walk around like they own the place". "Just watch the TV please" Amy responded "we both know you can't say anything" "yea replied gruffly" "That doesn 't mean I don 't want too". • 7. THE MOST HATED MAN IN TOWN THE MOST HATED MAN IN TOWN... 500 words As a young child, he was beaten, humiliated and grew up feeling unloved and degraded. His one wish was that when he grew up, he would have many people who loved him. The irony of life. I had been living in Aspen, Colorado, for about six months and writing feature stories for the local newspaper. My assignment was to find interesting locals to write about. One day while riding down Main Street, I saw a police officer directing traffic and wondered what it would be like to be a part of a famous ski resort's police force. His main wish for his future rolled up with the hope that he would have a lot of friends and people who loved him. Interesting enough he created the opposite. Marc accepted an assignment that brought him to Aspen as an undercover narc, lived among the drug community for approximately 8 months and when he surfaced, he busted all the people he had been hanging out with during this time. People he did dope with, partied with and skied with. All his time undercover, was quite lonely as he only had one contact in town who knew about his assignment and at times felt quite isolated from the world.. Aspen was a very tight knit community in those days and people of all socio economic levels interacted. Not only were the drug people incensed about what he did but he was surprised at the ill will of the straight part of the community.
  • 8. In spite of all the hatred people felt toward him, he chose to stay in town and joined the Aspen Police Department. He cleared his throat and said, ""They tried to kill me."" It was hard for me to believe tthat could happen in this community; however, after we got into the meat of the story, I more than believed him. Mark felt ostracizsed where ever he would go in town. • 9. Alice Hated Imperfect, Sloppy Looking Reports More Than... Alice hated imperfect, sloppy looking reports more than she hated lateness. The idea of a misspelling, or an incorrect photo, a missing chart, or God–forbid an incorrect color scheme–that would send her into a frenzy. So much so, she would stay up all night on her stylish, albeit uncomfortable sofa, with her laptop neatly placed on her legs working on her report until every single detail was exactly the way she envisioned it. When it come to her work, Alice wouldn't except anything less than perfect. Although this didn't spill into all areas of her life (her apartment was always a mess with laundry pilled high for weeks on end, and she always took days to reply to non–work related texts), but it was exactly this striving for flawlessness ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Max doesn't know why Alice works so hard, admittedly she has a good job that isn't easy to come by, but she doesn't earn commission on the properties, and that's where the money is made. He also doesn't completely understand why instead of having an alcohol infused night out (with the added potential to meet the love of her life), Alice will spend the night working on a report just to give to Cameron. Max doesn't push her further on the matter because Alice will say the same thing; that Cameron is going to be a partner soon, and then she'll get a promotion and the commission will be rolling in, but Max knows that's not solely the case. It's true that Cameron is intended to make partner, and Alice will be in line for a promotion, but her relationship with Cameron is somewhat complicated. On the surface its simple–Alice and Cameron are two friends that work together and have known each other since college (a now distance memory). Alice dated Cameron's roommate for 4 years and he was the one to introduce them. They appear to others like close friends, relatives even. Cameron has said that Alice is like his sister to others, though he might not say it to Alice for fear of pushing her away, and Alice would never imply that Cameron is like a brother because that would rule out any romantic involvement between them.It isn't crazy that ... Plath's suicide was the result of a forced breakdown of communication with Hughes. Hughes' use of free verse and enjambement creates a natural progression of thoughts. The autobiographical, 'letter–writing' genre suggests that these poems are a form of therapy, used to communicate Hughes' unresolved feelings to a fictional Plath. The dissonance of "wrought–iron grille" creates an unpleasant and sombre tone and connotes imagery of prison bars. A solid argument is made by showing that lots of deaths are due to vehicle rollovers because SUV's account for the majority of these types of crashes. Other stats show that in crashes containing both SUVs and cars the car generally loses. There are some problems with the statistics used by anti–SUV groups. Some statistics are not brought up when discussing personal safety because they would weaken the argument being made. This was a time where scientific naturalism was being applied to every field of inquiry and everything, including religion, was under scrutiny. A god that commands his followers to kill, to sacrifice, and one that damns people to hellfire. Wilson, a prestigious, award winning biographer, took on this task, giving a short biography on Hitler, rather than the typical portion of history taking place during World War II that most people are familiar with, he analyzes Hitler's entire life. The major points that Wilson discusses in his book, which are very controversial in the world we live in today, are Hitler's idea of anti–Semitism and the concept that although Hitler was an ordinary individual he had extraordinary abilities, which allowed for his great successes. The final concept that Wilson brings to the book is Hitler's idea of Darwinism in society. Throughout the life of Hitler, many different factors led to his anti–Semitism views and the eventual genocide of the Jewish population. This "hatred of the Jews was one important element in his early rise power" (pg. 4). Hitler was raised in a lower middle class family, which he determined to be his fate, as mentioned in his manifesto, "My struggle." Being from a poor family, he experienced many of the common problems associated with the lower middle class during his early years. In combining these opinions one can conclude that Prohibition despite the opposition it faces that it had thus been successful and was there to stay. The utilitarian perspective of Prohibition supports the belief that the enactment of the 18th Amendment was a triumph for society. During the same year as Tomkins, W. H. Stayton realizes the dangers of excessive drinking but identifies Prohibition as an experiment by a legislature that has a distorted vision. • 30. Why Were African Americans Hated In 1863 African Americans were Hated in 1863 because the foreigners did not want them to steal their jobs and the Southern whites believed if the slaves were free, who would take care of their crops or plantation which would result in money loss. Most of the New York Irish communities supported the Democrats and the Democrats believed in slavery. The Democrat party warned the New York Irishs and Germans to prepare for the emancipation and the labor competition with the free slaves. The New York Irishs and Germans were in fear that their jobs would be lost. Then in March 1863, the nation passed a law which enlisted every citizen who were men 20 to 25 and unmarried men 35– 45 to the military. African American weren't subjects to law because they were ... • 31. The Westboro Baptist Church, A Radical Christian Group The Westboro Baptist Church is a radical Christian group known for their hate. They often protest Military funerals with signs that read "God hates America" along with other various and more vulgar signs. Even though they are a widely disliked group, they have been protected by the first amendment. Which has led to many debates and even a case in the supreme court on whether or not their protest against America and her people should be protected by this amendment, Hopefully that question will be answered in this essay. The Westboro Baptist Church, evil as they are, should be protected by the first amendment. First lets review the first amendment. They believe all of the tragedies that happen in America is God punishing the Nation for it 's policies on homosexuality, divorce, and abortion laws, etc. Along with this they believe Obama to be the Anti Christ and the first sign of the apocalypse. Though it is also important to address that not everyone in the family is rotten. Many of the members over the years have left the church, primarily the younger kids as they gotolder. To which Westboro responds "If you are a true follower, you lose members of your family." ( Fred Phelps Jr.). On March 10th 2006, The Westboro Baptist church picketed the funeral of Marine Lance Corporal Matthew A. Snyder. On June 5th 2006, the family sued WBC for defamation, invasion of privacy, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. WBC had even gone as far as to say that the Snyder 's raised their son for the devil. They dishonored the fallen soldiers memory on the internet and in their protesting. • 32. Common Attributes of Peter Carey's Short Stories Essay The Collected Stories of Peter Carey An analysis of several of the stories in The Collected Stories of Peter Carey reveals numerous common attributes, leading to the aspects of entrapment and isolation appearing as common aspects of the stories. These come across in both the physical and mental form. Often the entire experience of entrapment and isolation is the result of the interaction of both forms. The quality of entrapment seen throughout Crabs, Peeling and A Fat Man in History relies on lies. In Crabs, the main character and his girlfriend become "stranded" at the drive in after their car parts have been stolen and the manager of the drive in tells them there is no way that they can leave, in effect lying to them. Finally, in Peeling the man is not physically trapped in his room, yet due to his unemployment he rarely leaves the house. The thick fog of the London day feeds the idea of the physical side of entrapment. The frame of mind shown by the narrator due to this feeling is one that might be adopted by a person with a terminal illness or a criminal on death row; it's the attitude of someone who knows their life will be over soon. This mindset is one of everything must be superficial and savoured, that life shouldn't be rushed and moments of seriousness can be left to rot. Love and inter–character relationships cause the characters of each story to become both isolated and entrapped within themselves. Peeling shows the reader the effect of love on the narrator, as he knows exactly what Nile is doing by listening only to her footprints, although they are both physically isolated the majority of the time. He isolates himself from her in his entrapped mindset, not wishing to discuss such deep, serious things as feelings for abortion babies and their souls, yet loves her, or at least lusts after her, enough to know her schedule, talk with her about the mundane going on in life and tell what she'd doing when she's rearranging the dolls on the floor above. • 33. Why Andrew Jackson Hated The Indians Andrew Jackson was the seventh President of the United States. During his presidency, Jackson took part in removing Native American Indians to the west. Because he was the President and he was the face of America at the time. Americans today blame him for the harsh removal of the Indians and make Jackson out to have been racist against the Indians. Although, during the Creek War Jackson found an abandoned Creek Indian baby. He took the baby to the Creek Nation and tried to find a mother to take the baby but no one wanted it. So, Jackson sent the baby home to his wife and they adopted him. They would later name him Lyncoya. This to me defeats the idea that Jackson hated the Indians. • 34. My Mom Hated Me Essay Growing up I was an abused child who wanted nothing more than to break free of the horrible torture that was imposed on me every day of my childhood. My mother hated me, and she was not shy in saying so. She would belittle me as if it gave her some kind of sick pleasure in destroying my fragile, developing ego. Naturally, I would grow up to be a person who didn't have any ambition or goals for the future. This was because I focused all of my energy on the thought of getting away. I just wanted to be free, somewhere, anywhere; it didn't matter to me. I am not sure exactly when my mother decided that she hated me, but it was definitely apparent in all of her actions. When I would escape I would go to my best friend's house. Her mother Denise despised my mother and always said that if she could adopt me that she would do it in a New York minute. I loved to be there because I felt safe. My mom hated Denise and would insult the family and call them unspeakable obscenities. She knew that I would have rather been with my best friend's family than with her, and she would accuse me of not having a loyal bone in my body. I did though; I was loyal to what I thought was right and true, and it definitely wasn't beating an innocent child because I hated my own life. I didn't care what she thought; in my eyes she was the monster; she was the one who couldn't accept the blame for anything. She was the one that would never apologize no matter how much pain she had put me through. It was obvious to me that my mother had a serious problem. The drugs that she would take just to get through the day and the abusive childhood had played a role in the person that she had become. Her father had started the cycle of abuse and my mother let it continue turning her into the weak domineering, selfish evil mother that I never wanted or deserved. I always blamed myself for her behavior, partly because every time that she would punch me, I always told myself that I would never forgive her. I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Why I Have Hated Writing For So Many Years? When did I realize why I have hated writing for so many years? Well, it was a Monday afternoon in the beginning of my senior year. Walking into to my last class of the day, I realized I was in an exceptionally good mood. Soon I would no longer have to sit in these uncomfortable chairs of my school. The classrooms of Blackstone Valley Tech were no different to jail cells; the concrete walls covered in cream paint, the yellow tile which seems to break everyone's' phones and the lack of windows, restricting the outside view. I sat one of the blue plastic chairs with metal legs in the back corner of my English class. The teacher, Mr. Kehowski, comes bolting in the room with a pile of papers in his hand. He was a tall man of normal build, had thinning hair, almost balding. His eyes were sharp and his nose pointy, wearing the usual; a sweater vest and khakis. This man was always jittering and super enthusiastic, which seemed to be a side effect of the 10 cups of coffee he had to drink each day. His voice was deep and slightly raspy, similar to the voice of a smoker. Mr. Kehowski walked around the room frantically, passing out the papers he had earlier possessed in his hands. He slammed the papers one by one on each of the 20 students desks. When I received my graded writing assignment, I skimmed over it. I was so excited to see how well I did; there was only one red mark on my paper, which was crossing out the first sentence. But when I turned the page to look at the rubric, I ... I thought some jobs would be great but eventually turned out to be not for me. Some jobs I quit after a few minutes, even jobs that I expressed to my boss what I thought about him. That wasn't always the best idea. I am so grateful that after a great deal I can honestly say I am glad to have a career. At one point I had a job I very much disliked yet it was funny at the same time at one particular moment. The job was trying to sell a "special" vacuum cleaner. He was in the course of closing the door but as a determined salesman, I put my right foot between the door and the frame. He slammed the door directly on my foot. "So you're the type that put the foot between the doors huh" He said. I then smiled; a sore smile but still a smile. I then looked into his place, "You have a gorgeous place and I am certain it is well kept, you seem to be a sensible man and all I need is ten minutes of your time". "Well ok, ten minutes is all you get," he declared powerfully. So I entered his living room and unpacked the equipment. "Sir, first I will show you how powerful the vacuum is". I had my personal cup of soil that I was going to display to him. "I will prove to you that this vacuum will suck all of this right up clean and still be able to clean your carpets and sofas." • 37. The Most Hated Family in America Essay examples The Most Hated Family In America The topic of homosexuality has been a very hot topic over the past several decades. The term homosexuality can be defined as the "sexual desire or behavior towards a person or persons of one's own sex" ("Homosexuality"). There are many people who either agree or disagree with the aspect of homosexuality, and there are others who are indifferent. Many Christian churches around the world, especially in the United States, have stated their opinion against homosexuality. They based their beliefs in the verses in 1st Corinthians 6: 9–10, which says, "Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? If one reads this manual, especially how the Baptists base their doctrine, one would see that the Westboro Baptist Church is wrong in many aspects, to such extent that they should not be called Baptists. The Westboro Baptist Church's main purpose is to promote hate; hate towards America, towards the world, and towards anybody who lives in this world and accepts homosexuality, or "fags" as they call them, into our society ("God Hates Fags"). They use picketing as a source to express their opinion is a very hateful way, to the point that it makes any person passing by uncomfortable and even express their anger towards them. In "The Most Hated Family In America" film, there are several instances where one can see the Phelps family discouraging the population by yelling that they are all going to hell, and that God hates this world for accepting the ways of the world. They don't care if the person is Christian or not, according to them, the world has no salvation (Theroux). In page 62 of the Baptist manual, it states that Baptist should believe in "justification", because it "includes that pardon of sin" (Hiscox). This is clear evidence that the Westboro church does not go by the manual of Baptists. The most horrifying thing that these people do is to picket at soldier funerals. They appear in various styles of literature, i.e., epics, myths, legends, urban folk, fairy tales, and in other art forms such as sculptures. Alvin proceeded to ask as to why he's been stopped, only to have none of the three officers respond with legitimate reasoning, instead receiving threats of bodily harm and arrest just for "being a f***ing mutt," as one officer retorted. "I felt like they was trying to make me resist or fight back," Alvin told The Nation.
