IKEA
INTRODUCTION :- The video starts with Adi Ignatius and Joshua Macht who are
from HBR and later joined by the Jesper Brodin who is CEO Ingka Holding
B.V.(IKEA) the video is about how will be the business strategy of IKEA after
covid-19. Firstly the CEO was asked aboutthe effect on the global business of IKEA
like how many stores were closed and how did they survive in this worst period?
IKEA have 90% of their store closed and due to this 90% of their revenue has been
cut out. They are also shifting their business in the digital platform and they are also
looking for more safety measures for the people so that it will be a good place to
visit and the customers can buy the products. In respond to the current situation at
USA where there is racial discrimination the CEO responds that the company have
a huge diversity in gender and ethnicity as well.
OBJECTIVES :-
 To give customer a good experience by keeping in mind about the safety first.
 To overcome the losses faced by the company in this pandemic.
ASSUMPTION :-
 There is no racism in IKEA.
 IKEA can recommend people to plan for their purchase in advance and
consider a non-peak time or later date to shop if the need is not immediate.
 Special shopping hours for the seniors and at-risk customers may bedeclared.
 There could be longer wait times.
 Instead of customers visiting physical stores they would prefer to shop online.
PROBLEM ANALYSIS :- How to help customers to buy their products in digital
platform as the furniture items are needed the physical touch to understand the
productand there is high chance that customer sees variety of things there choice of
the product changes.
SOLUTION :- As I said to chosethe furniture a customer needs that physical touch
so the store have to come up with a business model where they can have safety of
customers and their business as well.
CONCLUSION :- The store was fast to make decision when the pandemic started
but there is a lot of change from the starting day to now as covid is in its peak
situation so there is a fear in human mind not to go outside much and the losses of
job has also take place much in recent days it will be very hard to get the sales on
track so the only solution is covid vaccine.
