This document outlines 25 steps for safely doffing, or removing, personal protective equipment (PPE) according to guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The steps include checking PPE for leaks or tears, engaging a trainer, removing outer gloves and shoe covers while disinfecting gloves between steps, removing additional protective equipment like suits and masks from the outside in, disinfecting gloves throughout, removing inner gloves and disposing of used PPE, performing hand hygiene, and exiting the doffing area. Strict adherence to the protocol is noted to be important for safety.

14. Disinfect inner gloves by applying sanitizer all over
15. Removethe Gown – in to out direction
16. Remove innergloves – in to out direction ( apply sanitizer on glovesprior
removing)
17. Weara pair of gloves
18. Removedisposable medical mask followed by N95 mask
19. Disinfect inner gloves (thensit on clean chair)
20. Disinfect yourshoes/ slippers with cotton /gauze Wipe
21. Disinfect inner gloves by applying sanitizer all over
22. Removeinner gloves & wrap the Worn PPE in Yellow polythenebag, drop in
designatedarea
23. Perform Hand hygiene– Hand wash with soap andwater (as per W.H.O
technique)
24. Self-inspect outersurface for anycontamination
25. Exit theDoffing area/ room
