2. INTERNET MARKETING
• The internet has become a large part of marketing
with promotions such as YouTube videos and
adverts on the side of internet pages. This is a good
marketing technique as people will be viewing
content on the internet then see a advert and
maybe click the link allowing the consumer to view
the product advertised. Music videos can be also
advertised on YouTube by videos popping up
saying “new” or “exclusive” making people excited
to view the content.
3. SOCIAL MEDIA
• This would link to internet marketing as social media
is a big part of the internet and social media is also
a good marketing technique as band members
with thousands of followers would tweet or put up a
status via twitter or Facebook and loads of people
would see this and a hype would come around that
new song or album. Bands could also you hashtags
to promote the new song
4. EXAMPLES OF INTERNET MARKETING
• On YouTube there is now a place where you click
to view all the latest music.
• Then there is a “music” on the best of YouTube
5. WORD OF MOUTH
• Word of mouth is also a good marketing tool. If the
music video has positive reputation then people
are going to speak about it good and then other
people will then want to check it out. If that person
has gone to a gig then feel the band or song is
good then they will praise the band and more
people will want to know what all the buzz is about.
• Also if bands say “tell a friend” about them then this
is a good marketing technique as the consumer
feels they have or want to so that the band gets
more interest.
6. PRINTED MEDIA
• Printed media like billboards or large scale posters
attract and interest consumers if the band
advertises the album or song well with strategically
placed posters etc.
• Printed media is more expensive then online and its
may not get as much sales for the band as online
adverts can be widely viewed whereas posters and
billboards can only be viewed by certain people
passing by
