Implementing A Nutrition Education Component On The Double...
Project design: This project seeks to implement a nutrition education component in the Double Up
Food Bucks program at the Oakland County Farmer Market The first step in achieving the goal of
increasing the purchase and consumption of SNAP beneficiaries in Oakland County is to increase
the participation rates of the DUBF program. A good way to accomplish this is through promotion.
Promoting the the DUFB program and what is has to offer will increase awareness and educate
participants of the benefits they are able to receive when they shop at the farmers market. Starting
two months prior to the beginning of the farmers market season, the community dietitian will have
developed numerous promotional advertisements . With the help of an assistant, the advertisements
will be sent out and displayed at local businesses, community centers, government agencies and
libraries within Oakland County. Promotional marketing types will include newsletters, flyers,
brochures, and websites. Each advertisement material will include information about the farmers
market, such as day and time of operation and location of market, as well as information on the
DUFB program, the SNAP incentives offered, and benefits of participating. Additionally, the
marketing material will promote the opportunity of nutrition education and ability to speak with a
RD to answer any questions they may have. Newsletters will be sent out local residents homes,
especially those in close proximity of the Oakland

A Model Of Governance Through Capitalistic Ideals
Want to know a little known fact? Local government is one of the most influential factors in the
American way of life, but it is not even mentioned in the U.S. Constitution. Essentially the
Constitution set up national and state governments but leaves local governments out creating a gray
area. This area has been filled with many different methods and types of government. One of the
ideas which pertains to filling this gray area is the Tiebout model. In essence this is a model of
governance through capitalistic ideals. In the Tiebout model cities and metros are divided up into
micro–jurisdiction entice or deter specific citizens based on the jurisdicition's services and taxes.
This train of thought assumes things about the people who live in these cities. These assumptions,
applied to a simple majority, would surely ensure this methods success, but it may not be feasible.
Because many dislike the Tiebout method revision can be made and there are numerous alternatives
also.
In order for the Tiebout model to be successful, at least two assumptions must be made about
citizens. The first assumption that must be made is that the average, or at least the majority, of
citizens are both informed and motived to stay up to date on policies. Each citizens would need to
commit to enough different news sources to understand local politics and its entirety. This applies to
obvious things like watching tax changes in their local government, as well as other areas. It also
entail

Statement Of Purpose: My Journey To Bucks County Community...
After 2 years of going to Bucks County Community College under a Business Administration
degree It was time for me to transfer. At this point in my academic career I wanted to move onto
better things that would make my educational path more involved and help me be more successful
when it comes to my career. I felt that Rider University was the best option for me and the path I
plan to take. Waiting was never an option for me, I want to transfer right after I acquire my
associates degree from Bucks County Community College. I'm the type of person that is very
assertive and dedicated when it comes to mostly everything but mainly my career. I plan to be very

Aiding In Racial Profiling
"Racial profiling occurs when a police officer selectively focuses on a person's race where the
harass, detain, or arrest the individual"(Cooper,2001). Racial profiling is a serious issue that has
gone rampant in the united states today; people being scared to do everyday activities because of
their race is terrorizing and they culprits should be look at as terrorist. The government system is not
set up to benefit the minorities, the iron triangle is a connection of groups that are placed to try and
benefit the people, but sometimes they only benefit themselves and people alike. Aiding in racial
profiling is an institutionalized form of terrorism and needs to be stopped at the source, and these are
the steps we should take. In the case of the Milwaukee Bucks basketball player John Henson who
was just trying to buy some jewelry he experienced racism. Henson was going to a jeweler to buy
some merchandise and wasn't allowed into the store because he store workers felt intimidated.
Henson was a 6'11" millionair basketball player that looked scary to the store workers, so for the
workers to protect themselves they locked the doors and ran to the back of their office where the
employes proceed to call the police. When the police arrive at the scene they have to suspect that
Mr. Henson was dangerous in some way due to the description given, the police officers were able
to asses the situation and confirm that Henson did not mean any harm. The profiling of Henson was

Eminence: The Common Persons Perspective
Eminence : The Common Persons Perspective According to Merriam Webster Dictionary, Political
Geography is a branch of geography that deals with human governments, the boundaries and
subdivisions of political units (as nations or states), and the situations of cities. Political Geography
concerns itself with trying to understand how spatial distributions of structures effect relations and
how relations between governments work. Our Geography Project group chose to focus onto a more
unusual, yet simple question; "What do citizens think the problems are in Eminence and is the local
polity concerned with said problems." We felt that Eminence doesn't face any large issues, so if we
were to try to find one we would need to rely on the opinions of ... Show more content on

The most common problems people had with Eminence were the lack of a good grocery store,
drugs, lack of things for kids to do, and the need for more employment. By talking to some of the
locals, I found that Norms was the local grocery store, but it went into debt and is currently going
out of business. During our interviews, it was clear that Norms going out of business was very
upsetting. The only places people could get their groceries from is Shelbyville causing people to pay
more just to get their food. Drugs is a different kind of issue. I relied on the minutes of the council to
find the monthly police department report. When analyzing the reports there was a noticeable
amount of arrests purely dealing with drugs. Looking back at August through March, there has been
a steady amount of arrests, no signs of decline. Next, to find out why people thought there was a
lack of employment, I used the Chamber of Commerce business list for Henry county. The few
business that are in Eminence are either family owned or small. Many people are either left to find
laborious work or travel to nearby cites. Finally, we were unable to make any conclusions about why
people thought there was a lack of activities for kids. None of our collected data showed that people
had kids. This was our fault though and would definitely be something we would change if we were

Personal Narrative: My Decision To Go To Bucks County...
All decisions come with consequences, whether they are good, or bad. I believe that G–d has
everything to do with the decisions I, and, others make in this world. If I get into some sort of
trouble, G–d wanted me in that trouble, to teach me a lesson for the future. If I do something
positive, someone then later phrases you, by doing something good to you. Deciding where I would
go to college was a crucial decision I had to make. I had to make sure it was convenient and, where I
wanted to go. Before choosing to go to Bucks County Community College I was accepted to a few
other colleges, one of which was even out of state. I chose to come to Bucks County Community

County Commission Definition
The county commission is pretty neat. They decide what our taxes go towards and try to improve
our lives as citizens of West Virginia. Also they give us parks and parks are good for tag. Most of the
money goes towards public works projects and keeping the capitol in good condition. But what does
my county commission do for me? The taxes we pay go towards making the state better as a whole.
The county commission is there to make sure our taxes are not wasted. If we have more parks and
attractions more tourists will come and that will create more stores. The more stores the more jobs
and jobs help make West Virginia the best it can be. If the county commission can create jobs, then
more people can support their families. The county commission

Design Of Maximum Power Point Tracker With Mechanical System
ABSTRACT
The present report describes the different modules involved in the design of a maximum power point
tracker with mechanical system (MPPT). The system uses four light dependent resistances (LRD) to
measure the light intensity on the four sides of a solar panel then, using two steppers motor, rotates
the panel in the direction of the LRD which measures the maximum light intensity. The power
output from the panel is used to charge a twelves Volts battery through a DC–DC buck converter.

Matt Bollero Is The Director Of Staffing For The Milwaukee...
Matt Bollero is the director of scouting for the Milwaukee Bucks after accepting the position in the
summer of 2017. Before that he was a pro personnel scout for the Minnesota Timberwolves, and he
graduated from DePauw University in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology. The Bucks are a
professional basketball team and a member of the National Basketball Association (NBA) after
being founded as an expansion team in 1968. The team currently has one of the top ten players in
the league with the twenty–three–year–old Giannis Antetokounmpo, and they are believed to be one
of the up and coming teams in the near future. Contact information for both the Bucks and Matt can

The last quality of a scout is usually the hardest to come by as one might guess because of being on
the road for so long. It is tough to keep a family in this job because of time commitments, and the
starting pay can be quite low. Scouts usually report to the director of scouting, and then the director
reports to upper management such as the general manager, assistant general manager, vice president
of global scouting, and director of strategy. It is also possible that scouts and the director will also be
heavily involved with coaches within the organization. The information gathered will help teams in
many ways. It allows them to draft the best possible player and to get the best free agents for the
right price, but it helps them prepare for games against opposing teams. These three parts are vital
when it comes to winning in the present but also in future years. Matt said that the most exciting part
about his job was being able to win and being such a big part of the process. Matt gave some advice
to me that would be good for any college student looking to get this job or a similar one. Get
involved in the basketball career field as soon as possible doing as much as possible. Experience is

Call Of The Wild Conflict Analysis
In the novel Call of the Wild, Buck, the protagonist struggles with the constant duality between his
"Love of a Man" and his pull towards savagery. The civilization that greeted Buck in the Santa Clara
Valley was one that was based on Southern Hospitality, but the savagery that slowly ripped and
consumed Buck was one of an unforgiving nature, destroying anyone or anything that was
unfortunate enough to see it. One major confliction Buck battles with is his "Love of a Man" while
he is in the presence of civilization. In the beginning of the novel, while Buck is still on Judge
Miller's place, London states, "His father, a huge Saint Bernard, had been the judge's inseparable
companion, and Buck bid fair to follow in the way of his father"(12). Buck enjoyed being in the
company of the Judge's family and was comfortable in the ways of civilization. On page 23, the
novel states, "Francois's whip snapped less frequently, and Perrault even honored Buck by lifting up
his feet and carefully examining them." When Perrault did this, it made Buck feel that "love of a
man" that he strives for. Later in the novel, John Thornton saved Buck from his previous owners
Hal, Charles, and Mercedes, and took care of Buck until his wounds healed and he regained his
strength. "But love that was feverish and burning, that was adoration, that was madness,it had taken
John Thornton to arouse"(58). Buck had never experienced true love for a man, all his previous
"relationships" had been of a business

Emotional Stress In Eveline
Stress can be paralyzing. The condition of emotional strain resulting from detrimental circumstances
is sometimes so consuming that its victims are no longer capable of moving. This is mental
paralysis. People that experience mental paralysis are so damaged by their life experiences that they
cannot hardly act or make decisions on their own. In James Joyce's "Eveline," Eveline's sad life
constantly reminds her of deaths, troubles her with difficulties, and begs her to leave, and she is
presented with a perfect opportunity to escape to a new life and land with her boyfriend Frank, but
she cannot seize it because her emotional damage leaves her disabled.
Eveline's home life gives her countless reasons to leave, providing her only the memories of what
she has lost and the demands of her abusive father. Everyone good in her life left or is leaving her.
Her mother, Tizzie Dunn, Ernest, and Harry have died, the Walters have gone back to England, and
now Frank is leaving too. If Eveline does not leave with Frank, the only person she will have left is
her abusive father. He verbally abuses her, he physically abused her mother and siblings, and she
fears he might her soon as well: "She sometimes felt herself in danger of her father's violence"
(Joyce). Eveline's father fights with her about money and hints that he is a drinker: "The invariable
squabble for money on Saturday nights had begun to weary her unspeakably. She always gave her
entire wages... but the trouble was to get any

Literary Analysis Of Eveline
James Joyce's "Eveline" is a short story about a nineteen–year–old Eveline, who contemplates
abandoning a life she is accustomed to and moving to a distant land with a man she hardly knows. In
one hand she holds the weight of uncertain happiness, in the other, inevitable misery. Eveline needs
to make a choice between two contrasting lives; one in which she is a servant to her father, in other,
a respected wife. Following her mother's death, Eveline assumes the role of a parent and inherits all
the chores accompanying it. She works hard at home and "the Stores" (Joyce 74), but for all her
troubles, Eveline gets little respect in return. Now with one brother dead and other away on
business, she is left alone to keep the family together and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Being at the bottom of the hierarchy, Eveline's only means of escape is a man who will take her
hand in marriage.
Eveline's father is the second most important character in the story, yet Joyce chooses not to reveal
his name. That is because he is only a father in a biological sense, falling short at every other
fatherly duty. Mr.Hill is a failed provider who takes his offspring's earnings only to hand it back,
allowing him to feel like a "man of the house". He is abusive and flaunts his dominance by
"threaten[ing]" (Joyce 73) Eveline well into her adulthood. The threats seem unprovoked and
random, indicating father's attempts to instill fear rather than curb or abolish an offending behavior.
Compensating for his failures, the father uses aggression and control to get what he wants. "Her
father was becoming old lately, she noticed; he would miss her" (Joyce 75), the narrator draws our
attention to the aging of the father and impending helplessness following it. Though Joyce does not
clarify how the father will miss Eveline, judging by his past conducts, it is safe to assume that he
would miss Eveline's help around the house and money the most. Still, as she contemplates leaving,
Eveline sees good in him and "tries to balance her father's increasing capacity for violence by
remembering three random acts of kindness"(Trudell) that seemingly undue all the wrong he has
done in the past. No matter

Texas Politics Essay
Chapter 11 of the textbook, 'Texas Politics", it is primarily about the purpose and structure of the
local governments within the state of Texas. Texas has 254 counties, the most of any state. Each
county is governed by a five–member Commissioners Court, which consists of a County Judge
(elected at–large) and four Commissioners (elected from single–member precincts). The County
Judge has no veto authority over the decisions of the Court, s/he has one vote along with the other
Commissioners. In smaller counties, the County Judge also performs judicial functions, while in
larger counties his/her role is limited to the Court. Elections are held on a partisan basis. Counties

Disadvantages Of Synchronous Transverter
Another advantage of the synchronous converter is that it is bi–directional, which lends itself to
applications requiring regenerative braking. When power is transferred in the "reverse" direction, it
acts much like a boost converter.
The upsides of the synchronous buck converter don't come without cost. To start with, the lower
switch normally costs more than the freewheeling diode. Second, the multifaceted nature of the
converter is unfathomably expanded because of the requirement for a reciprocal yield switch driver.
Such a driver must keep both changes from being turned on in the meantime, a blame known as
"shootthrough". The most straightforward procedure for dodging shootthrough is a period delay
between the kill of S1 to the turn–on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

multiphase CPU power supply for an AMD Socket 939 processor. The three periods of this supply
can be perceived by the three dark toroidal inductors in the closer view. The littler inductor
underneath the warmth sink is a piece of an info channel.
The multiphase buck converter is a circuit topology where fundamental buck converter circuits are
put in parallel between the information and load. Each of the n "phases" is turned on at equally
spaced intervals over the switching period. This circuit is typically used with the synchronous buck
topology, described above.
This kind of converter can react to load changes as fast as though it exchanged n times speedier,
without the expansion in exchanging misfortunes that would bring about. Subsequently, it can react
to quickly evolving burdens, for example, present day chip.
There is additionally a noteworthy diminishing in exchanging swell. Not exclusively is there the
reduction due to the expanded viable frequency,[4] but any time that n times the duty cycle is an
integer, the changing swell goes to 0; the rate at which the inductor current is expanding in the
stages which are exchanged on precisely coordinates the rate at which it is diminishing in the stages
which are turned

The Ethical Theory Of Ethics
What is the right thing to do when you're faced with corruption in the work place? Should you
simply condone the behavior, participate in it, or remove yourself from the situation? Is there more
at stake here than just your own interests and prosperity? This essay will look at a case study
involving corruption in a local county government. In this case, Jenny must decide whether or not to
expose the rampant corruption prevalent in her workplace. Should Jenny turn a blind eye thereby
avoiding any negative consequences, or should she expose these actions and possibly compromise
her career aspirations? In considering her case, I believe the best choice Jenny should make involves
her exposing the corruption. I will argue for this position through the utilitarian theory of ethics.
Before I argue for what Jenny should do, we should first look at the options available to her. Jenny
could choose to ignore the obvious theft and misuse of public funds and property. Additionally, she
could accept the nepotism displayed by the rest of her coworkers. The immediate benefit to her
would be in maintaining the status quo. Jenny would continue to work here until such time as she
would be able to move onto another government work place. But choosing this option would mean
she would be indirectly approving of the behavior we know has made her uncomfortable. Besides
the guilt she would experience, Jenny would also be subject to possible prosecution once the
corruption was discovered. For

An Overview Of Maximum Power Point Tracking
MPPT: An overview of Maximum Power Point Tracking
Only 30 to 40 percent of the incident solar irradiation converts into electrical energy by solar panel.
For improve the efficiency of the solar panel Maximum power point tracking technique is used,
which track the maximum power of solar panel.
The Maximum Power Point Tracking works on the impedance matching theory.
When the Thevenin impedance of the circuit (source impedance) matches with the load impedance
maximum power output of a circuit is obtain. this is according to maximum power transfer theorem.
Boost converter is connected to a solar panel in source side which is used in order to enhance the
output voltage that can be used for different applications.
Source impedance and load impedance can match by appropriately changing the duty cycle of the
boost converter.
Different MPPT techniques:
Few of the most popular techniques used to track the maximum power point is as below:
1) Perturb and Observe (hill climbing method) 2) Incremental Conductance method
3) Fractional short circuit current
4) Fractional open circuit voltage
5) Neural networks
6) Fuzzy logic
1.Perturb & Observe:
In Perturb & obserbe (P&O) only one sensor is used that is voltage sensor which is used to sense the
PV array voltage.
The cost of this method is less and it is easy to implement. Time taken by this method is very less.
On the reaching to the MPP it doesn't stop at MPP and keeps on perturbing on the both the
directions.

The Formal Mission Of Collin County
Collin County is a governing body north of Dallas that has been experiencing rapid growth over the
past decade. Planning for the population growth, businesses expansions, and county debt has been
needed in order for the county to be sustainable during the great recession. The formal mission of
Collin County is to deliver services including justice, public safety, infrastructure, and public health
as mandated by the State of Texas and to execute other priorities as determined by the
Commissioners Court (Collin County). The mission statement is very concise and specific at times
by mentioning the main services that are provided, such as justice, public safety, infrastructure, and
public health. Length of mission statements can be cumbersome at times to understand because of
conflicting views. Collin's mission provides insight into the purpose that the organization is trying to

particular actions or policies because it is there for public relations. Collin County does not have a
clear strategic plan for the county in general. There are a few strategic plans that are current in the

unintentional, taking credit for someone else 's work is wrong, students should consistently cite
work while, professors should be aware of any plagiarism errors in order to correct them.
Administrators should also voice plagiarism and enforce it, and most importantly the community at
large should become aware of the wrongs in plagiarism to avoid further piracy.
First and foremost, students should consistently cite work because they should become aware of the
wrongs in plagiarism. The fundamental skills developed when writing if work is plagiarized will not
exist. Consequently, the hard work that was credited to its rightful owner is no longer there. Authors
work hard on their text just like students work hard on theirs. A statement from the facility, Bucks
County Community College expresses that "By valuing the ability to analyze and make reasoned

Relationship Between State and Local Government Essay
Forms of Local Government
The basis for county, city and special district governing and authority are laid out in the State
Constitution and Government Code. Counties in California are responsible for providing limited
services to unincorporated areas. The state Legislature created the Local Agency Formation
Commission (LAFCO) in 1963 to control local government fragmentation. The Local Agency
Formation Commission (LAFCO) gives counties the power to tax, create special districts and annex
unincorporated land to cities in the county (League of Women Voters, 1992).
There are three classes of county government. The main differences are in the organization and
selection of governing bodies and officers. General Law counties elect ... Show more content on

Municipalities may also provide parks, public housing, and various utility services. Cities are
required to develop a general plan, environmental reports and review of their capital improvements
program (League of California Cities, n.d.). Charter municipalities may have increased powers,
requiring a vote for adoption and amendment. Incorporated cities and towns have the power to levy
taxes. Special districts provide focused service. They only serve specific designated areas and
provide only one service. That service is a public service or program constitutes want. While county
and city service are mandated by federal and state government, special districts provide what the
public wants. Local agency loss of property tax revenue and competition for existing revenue leaves
fewer dollars for services. Residents and landowners can form a district to pay for an increased level
of service or other services they desire. Local citizens can receive services at the price they are
willing to pay (League of Women Voters, 1992).
Special districts are not state government. They are accountable to the voters. State government does
look over financial reports and requires state law be followed for public meetings, bonded debt,
record keeping and elections. They provide public services and infrastructure that help communities
but not direct economic development (CSDA, n.d.).

Est1 Task 1 Local Government
Establishing a formal government on the newly secured property called Pequena Isla would take a
great deal of consideration to ensure prosperity in the future.
Local government
Pequena Isla will use a general purpose and perform essential services such as law enforcement,
park services, maintaining roads, human services and public works (Dye & MacManus, 2015). To
ensure quality educational services, they will also use a special purpose government to establish and
maintain school districts (Dye & MacManus, 2015).
Form of government
A rural county government would make for an excellent political structure while giving the residents
common services. It would also give private businesses opportunities for maintenance, healthcare,
waste disposal services, and recreational services, which would not only bring business and jobs but
more citizens as well. The services our government would provide ... Show more content on

Management system
To allow future growth Pequena Isla will utilize the more professional and versatile county
administrator structure Isla. This type of government would let the local elected officials work on
the legislative aspects while hiring a highly qualified individual to manage the county operations. It
would also be beneficial because some of the elected county members may not be experienced
leading a county, but this would give the count the opportunity to hire a knowledgeable and capable
person to manage the county.

Importance Of The County Commissioners For Our County
The county commissioners do a lot for our county! They make our county have nice EMS places

anything, we would have to go out of county just to get groceries. That would give that county more

Analysis Of James Joyce 's ' Araby '
In the short story Araby, James Joyce provides the audience with a glimpse if 19th century Ireland
seen through the eyes of an adolescent young man. It is this adolescence and the navies of the world
that is under attack. Joyce masterfully reveals an innocence held by Araby by contrasting it with a
setting filled with symbology that eludes to the hopeless reality in which he lives. Joyce injects a
sense of unrealized bleakness for the protagonist by the imagery that he puts forth. "North
Richmond street, being blind was a quiet street except for the hour..." (Joyce 200), immediately sets
the atmosphere as one that is almost desolate, with iron gray clouds heavy with grief for the people
below. The with the ending phrase," except for the hour" (Joyce 200), reinforces this feeling. Only
one hour, where life and movement grace this street but fleeting, like freshly minted snowflake
landing on a cheek flushed with embarrassment. Much like a crepuscular ray, pushing through
clouds, when gone, do the clouds not seem darker. The path to adult hood for Araby rests under
these skies and winds thorough a morass of self–truth and a sense of predestined caste. The reality
of Arabys life comes into focus early on. His poor and reality destitute situation made apparent
mainly by where he lives. "An uninhabited house...stood at the blind end, detached from its
neighbors (Joyce 200)", is revealing to the economic station of Araby. The fact that he lives with his
uncle suggest that in his

General-Purpose State Governments
American local governments sprouted in response to a combination of citizen demand, interest
group pressure, and state government acquiescence. As a consequence, no scientific system of local
government exists. General–purpose local governments perform a wide variety of governmental
functions, and counties, municipalities, and towns and townships all fall into this category. Special
purpose local governments generally focus on a specific purpose and one function. Best known of
these are the school districts. Regardless of name, it is state government that gives local
governments of all types their legal life.
Counties were created to function as appendages of the state, but modernization and population
growth have put pressures on counties ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are some 33,000 special districts around the country, and their number is growing. They
overlay existing general–purpose governments and differ in their organization–they are minuscule to
mammoth. They continue to exist because of technical and practical limits on the general–purpose
local government, the special debt and tax advantages under which the special district operates, and
the political power that they accrue. They accrue political power because of restrictive annexation
laws faced by cities and the limits on county government authority. Once created, the special–
district interests fight encroachment by general–purpose governments. Supporters argue they are
efficient in providing a service and are responsive to constituents whose needs were not met by
general–purpose government. However, many scholars look at them with a jaundiced eye, because
they feel that they operate without enough political accountability and that well placed groups are
their special beneficiaries. Some states are taking action to give general–purpose local governments

The Mayor Case Study
The Role of the Mayor
Introduction to the Issue
This essay aims to examine the role of the mayor in regards to the politics of local government in
Ontario. The process of the development of public policy has shifted considerably during the last
few decades. Due to the advent of globalization and of social media, public sector decision making
has expanded to include more stakeholders than ever before. As a result, mayors have come under
significant pressures to engage not only political actors in decision making, but also communities
and individuals as well, which changes the way that they operate in their public role. This indicates
that the idea of municipal governance may also be changing within the minds of citizens. This essay
will draw on a case study based on the city of Mississauga and its needs from the mayor and city
council. This essay strives to provide insight into the process of developing a strong mayoral
strategy using the example of the city of Mississauga, looking at its current and future plans for

Leadership : A Successful Leader
Leadership isn't easy. In the moments of push and pull and on the spot decision making, all of the
responsibility and possible repercussions of a bad spur of the moment decision rests on a leaders
shoulder. It can be overwhelming, stressful, and even intimidating at times. At what point do I know
that I am and will continue to be a successful leader? That can be a difficult question for one to
answer, because success, as I have learned, is different to everyone. A great place to begin is to point
out all of the things I am doing wrong as a leader. After the reading and understanding of "What Got
You Here Won't Get You There", I've come to learn I have a few of the "bad habits" the author
pointed out. It's a little too easy to look over the list of habits the author discusses and silently think
to myself that at one time or another I am probably guilty of each one. A few that I am most guilty
of are: Passing judgement, Starting with NO, BUT, HOWEVER, Failing to give proper recognition,
Not listening, and Passing the buck (Goldsmith, 2007). Though I may not portray all of these bad
habits on a daily basis, it's the fact that I have exhibited them at some point in the past that is toxic to
my leadership skills. I must not only point out and take responsibility for these habits, but it is also
important to know how they negatively affect others around me and how I can easily change them
with small behavior adjustments. It's definitely always easier to pass judgement on others

The Effects Of High Compliance Rate On Municipal City Of...
Research Design and Methodology
4.1Introduction
The purpose of this study is to find out what are the causes of the high compliance rate in property
taxes in the municipal city of Portmore, Jamaica. Taxes are of essential importance to small
developing countries as they do not have much needed resources. As further developments takes
place in the municipal city property values will increase, hence the amount of property tax collected
by the Portmore municipal council will also increase. This increase however, is not a guarantee that
the tax collection will be sufficient in the maintenance of the community due to the rising cost of
goods and services. Hence continuous voluntary compliance is essential and important as it most
efficient for both the tax payer and the tax authorities.
This section gives the hypothesis or research perspectives, the design of the research and the
methods that were used to gather the data.
4.2 Hypotheses/ Research Perspectives
My research perspective on the Municipal City of Portmore attaining the highest compliance rate
property tax collections in Jamaica are:
That the tax payers have recognised the need and importance of property tax to the community.
The taxpayers are knowledgeable about property tax and the consequences if not paid.
The local authorities are ensuring that the community is well maintained by effectively and
efficiently using the tax collecting in providing services such as timely collection of garbage,

Organizations bear economic, legal, and ethical obligations to provide useful information about the
risks and benefits of their products, policies, and services. Failure to fulfill those obligations can be
costly. Financial analyst estimate that 70% of a typical private firm's assets are intangibles, like
goodwill, that can be lost when communication fail. Public institutions' reputations often depend on
their ability to communicate (Fischhoff).
It is important to know that organizations are vital with providing guidance and advice for an
arrangement of objectives and methodologies of serviceable divisions. Moreover, these procedures

Government responsiveness identifies with capability to react to evolving requests. Differentiation
can identify with items or administration characteristics, quality, notoriety, or client administration.
A few associations concentrate on a solitary methodology while others utilize a mix of
methodologies.
Systems give center to choice making. As a rule, public sectors have general techniques called
authoritative methodologies, which identify with the whole public/private sector. They likewise have
utilitarian procedures, which identify with each of the practical territories of the agency.
The useful systems ought to back the general techniques of the association, in the same way that the
hierarchical methods ought to back the objectives and mission

Little Canada, Questions And Answers
Question 1: Why are you interested in this position?
From what I have learned city governments provide some of the most challenging, dynamic,
learning–centric environments where opportunities to make a difference abound through numerous
opportunities. Often from what I have seen the staff is smaller, and so is the budget and other
resources and yet the issues that arise didn't shrink as well, so creative and quick solutions are more
frequently needed. I want to start building experience working in government and I want to do it at
the local level because I see meaningful and challenging work. Moreover I have spent many years

working in Little Canada will allow me to take the next step while doing something that matters to
Minnesotans. This important job will give me the opportunity I have been seeking to further develop
my skills while offering my love for creative solutions when the opportunity arises. From what I

A Landmark Surgery
At approximately 10:30 AM on the 19th of October 1927 Carrie Buck was escorted back to her
room to begin the short recovery period she was required to take after having had an inch of flesh
removed from each of her Fallopian tubes with the loose ends then being professionally and caringly
cauterized and sutured closed. This woman had just undergone a landmark surgery, not because of
the highly technical aspects of the surgery, or anything of the sort, but rather because the entire
procedure had been performed against her will. Following Carrie out of the operating room was Dr.

It is in other countries where we are most familiar with the process, most specifically Nazi Germany.
The efforts of the Third Reich to create a genetically superior race of Aryans was another example
of the application of eugenics (Leuchtenburg 12). The most basic tenant of this practice is the
premise that 'weak ' parents will lead to weak offspring, who will in turn produce more of the same
genetically deficient specimens and in time degrade the integrity of the entire human race. Upon
entering the legal battle that would decide who had the right to preside over her reproductive
decision, Carrie Buck knew that the outcome of the case would not only have an effect on her future
but that of thousands of others who were having their rights brought into question as well. Beyond
merely giving the go ahead for her own sterilization, the loss of the case would bring about a new
set of legal justifications for the systematic, controlled extinction of those who were not considered
of the ideal genetic makeup. This wasnt just a fight for an individuals freedom, it was a fight for
equality as promised by legislature that even then threatened to strip away what it had promised in
its governing documents. The official name of the case is Carrie Buck v John Hendren Bell

The Hunt For Bullwinkle
The Hunt For Bullwinkle "Are you going hunting today or not Buck"? Father had asked. "In just a

years now. The deer has earned the nickname of Bullwinkle. Trail cameras that had been set out to
try and capture this humongous beast, has only captured his picture one time...and only half of his
body. It could be seen that he was the largest buck around the place. "Well I am going to the woods
now, I can feel it in my blood and bones that Bull will come out today" exclaimed Buck. Buck was

The Case Of Buffalo For Real
The narrative that gets told about a city influences public policies, economic development
initiatives, and even civic morale and engagement. For example, in the case of Buffalo, pervasive
myths about high property tax rates have influenced the public's perception about the funding of
public programs and fed the desire for irresponsible tax cuts. Similarly, stories that fail to
acknowledge issues of poverty, inequality, and segregation marginalize certain groups and hinder
constructive dialogue on how to fix these issues. Many of the solutions previously proposed to make
Buffalo prosper, assumed that the city was in dire straits. While it is true that Buffalo had been hit by
hard times, haphazard attempts at economic developments only exasperated ... Show more content

In 2010, the poverty rate was 29.6% and the unemployment rate is currently 12.4%. In addition,
most of the poverty is concentrated on the west side and the east side. These issues have been
compounded by a dwindling population as many choose to avoid the inner–city poverty in favor of
living in the surrounding suburbs. With that being said, Buffalo has many underutilized or
unrecognized resources. First, Buffalo has access to the Great Lakes. As water scarcity becomes a
more pressing issue, the Great Lakes will become an even more valuable resource. Buffalo needs to
recognize the value of this resource and stop dumping raw sewage into the water. Second, the city is
located near Niagara Falls, one of the biggest tourist attractions in the world. The only problem is
that Buffalo doesn't have as many attractions to keep tourist in the area for a longer period. Also, its
rich past has endowed it with magnificent architecture and historic landmarks. By accentuating these
locations, Buffalo could increase its tourism traffic. The economic situation in Buffalo has been
bleak, but its proximity to Toronto could lead to a resurgence if the city's prime location is utilized.
By taking stock of the resources that it has at its disposal, Buffalo can change the narrative about its
future

Why We Need An Urban County Government
Why We Need an Urban County Government
For too long this area has taken a back seat to the larger cities around us. We need to join the rest of
the progressive regions in this state and establish a new, more efficient form of government. Pulaski
County and the cities of Somerset, Science Hill, Ferguson, and Burnside need to merge together and
create an urban county government. This will help to consolidate duplicate services, provide better
representation for the citizens of Pulaski County, and strengthen the economy in this region.
We live in a magnificent part of the state of Kentucky. We have picturesque landscapes, really
pleasant residents, and a magnificent lake that supports a huge part of our economy through tourism.

As a result, it is possible for the citizens to vote to implement this type of government. Therefore, in
April of 2013 the Somerset–Pulaski County United group formed and began the process of having
feasibility studies done to see if the formation of an urban county government would be an
alternative that would serve our area well. According to the Commonwealth Journal, a newspaper in
Somerset, Kentucky, "A group of about 60 community leaders, clustered as Somerset–Pulaski
County United (SPCU), is embarking on a study to determine if a consolidated or united
government in Pulaski County would be more efficient and more responsive to the county's 63,000
residents." (Mardis and Shmidheiser). This group, a cross–section that well represents the residents
of this county, believes that the formation an urban county government is a great opportunity for all
our futures.
Unfortunately, the SPCU has faced much antagonism in this initial phase of work. Many current
government leaders are afraid of what changes might do to their positions of power. But these same
leaders are also the ones who create problems and allow current ones to continue. Having a council
of peers will give a voice everyone in the area, not just the few who reside in the

On January 8, 2014, the U.S. Attorney has stated that the BISD school District Finance Officer and

However, eleven days after the last transfer, the FBI raided on BISD headquarters and the homes of

This is because the fraudulent activity was reported by a local news magazine that decided to take
interest in why McCraney was upgrading home and cars excessively. The reporter was able to
uncover that McCraney purchased his home upgrade in cash. This was estimated to be about
$125,000, which was upgraded immediately and expanded within a couple of months.
Also, it was reported that he purchased an estimate of $200,000 in cash for new cars alongside his

to help pay off his mortgage that cost over 80,000 dollars. This brought up red flags because the
annual salary for the Director of Finance was estimated to be 80,000 dollars and he had no other
income reported. Thus, this brought suspicion from the Government, which forced him to plead
guilty due to fraud of receiving illegal federal funds. As a result, he is facing five years in federal

Implementing A Nutrition Education Component On The Double...

  • 1. Implementing A Nutrition Education Component On The Double... Project design: This project seeks to implement a nutrition education component in the Double Up Food Bucks program at the Oakland County Farmer Market The first step in achieving the goal of increasing the purchase and consumption of SNAP beneficiaries in Oakland County is to increase the participation rates of the DUBF program. A good way to accomplish this is through promotion. Promoting the the DUFB program and what is has to offer will increase awareness and educate participants of the benefits they are able to receive when they shop at the farmers market. Starting two months prior to the beginning of the farmers market season, the community dietitian will have developed numerous promotional advertisements . With the help of an assistant, the advertisements will be sent out and displayed at local businesses, community centers, government agencies and libraries within Oakland County. Promotional marketing types will include newsletters, flyers, brochures, and websites. Each advertisement material will include information about the farmers market, such as day and time of operation and location of market, as well as information on the DUFB program, the SNAP incentives offered, and benefits of participating. Additionally, the marketing material will promote the opportunity of nutrition education and ability to speak with a RD to answer any questions they may have. Newsletters will be sent out local residents homes, especially those in close proximity of the Oakland ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. A Model Of Governance Through Capitalistic Ideals Want to know a little known fact? Local government is one of the most influential factors in the American way of life, but it is not even mentioned in the U.S. Constitution. Essentially the Constitution set up national and state governments but leaves local governments out creating a gray area. This area has been filled with many different methods and types of government. One of the ideas which pertains to filling this gray area is the Tiebout model. In essence this is a model of governance through capitalistic ideals. In the Tiebout model cities and metros are divided up into micro–jurisdiction entice or deter specific citizens based on the jurisdicition's services and taxes. This train of thought assumes things about the people who live in these cities. These assumptions, applied to a simple majority, would surely ensure this methods success, but it may not be feasible. Because many dislike the Tiebout method revision can be made and there are numerous alternatives also. In order for the Tiebout model to be successful, at least two assumptions must be made about citizens. The first assumption that must be made is that the average, or at least the majority, of citizens are both informed and motived to stay up to date on policies. Each citizens would need to commit to enough different news sources to understand local politics and its entirety. This applies to obvious things like watching tax changes in their local government, as well as other areas. It also entail ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Aiding In Racial Profiling "Racial profiling occurs when a police officer selectively focuses on a person's race where the harass, detain, or arrest the individual"(Cooper,2001). Racial profiling is a serious issue that has gone rampant in the united states today; people being scared to do everyday activities because of their race is terrorizing and they culprits should be look at as terrorist. The government system is not set up to benefit the minorities, the iron triangle is a connection of groups that are placed to try and benefit the people, but sometimes they only benefit themselves and people alike. Aiding in racial profiling is an institutionalized form of terrorism and needs to be stopped at the source, and these are the steps we should take. In the case of the Milwaukee Bucks basketball player John Henson who was just trying to buy some jewelry he experienced racism. Henson was going to a jeweler to buy some merchandise and wasn't allowed into the store because he store workers felt intimidated. Henson was a 6'11" millionair basketball player that looked scary to the store workers, so for the workers to protect themselves they locked the doors and ran to the back of their office where the employes proceed to call the police. When the police arrive at the scene they have to suspect that Mr. Henson was dangerous in some way due to the description given, the police officers were able to asses the situation and confirm that Henson did not mean any harm. • 9. Eminence: The Common Persons Perspective Eminence : The Common Persons Perspective According to Merriam Webster Dictionary, Political Geography is a branch of geography that deals with human governments, the boundaries and subdivisions of political units (as nations or states), and the situations of cities. Political Geography concerns itself with trying to understand how spatial distributions of structures effect relations and how relations between governments work. Our Geography Project group chose to focus onto a more unusual, yet simple question; "What do citizens think the problems are in Eminence and is the local polity concerned with said problems." We felt that Eminence doesn't face any large issues, so if we were to try to find one we would need to rely on the opinions of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The most common problems people had with Eminence were the lack of a good grocery store, drugs, lack of things for kids to do, and the need for more employment. By talking to some of the locals, I found that Norms was the local grocery store, but it went into debt and is currently going out of business. During our interviews, it was clear that Norms going out of business was very upsetting. The only places people could get their groceries from is Shelbyville causing people to pay more just to get their food. Drugs is a different kind of issue. I relied on the minutes of the council to find the monthly police department report. When analyzing the reports there was a noticeable amount of arrests purely dealing with drugs. Looking back at August through March, there has been a steady amount of arrests, no signs of decline. Next, to find out why people thought there was a lack of employment, I used the Chamber of Commerce business list for Henry county. The few business that are in Eminence are either family owned or small. Many people are either left to find laborious work or travel to nearby cites. Finally, we were unable to make any conclusions about why people thought there was a lack of activities for kids. None of our collected data showed that people had kids. This was our fault though and would definitely be something we would change if we were ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Personal Narrative: My Decision To Go To Bucks County... All decisions come with consequences, whether they are good, or bad. I believe that G–d has everything to do with the decisions I, and, others make in this world. If I get into some sort of trouble, G–d wanted me in that trouble, to teach me a lesson for the future. If I do something positive, someone then later phrases you, by doing something good to you. Deciding where I would go to college was a crucial decision I had to make. I had to make sure it was convenient and, where I wanted to go. Before choosing to go to Bucks County Community College I was accepted to a few other colleges, one of which was even out of state. Also they give us parks and parks are good for tag. Most of the money goes towards public works projects and keeping the capitol in good condition. But what does my county commission do for me? The taxes we pay go towards making the state better as a whole. The county commission is there to make sure our taxes are not wasted. If we have more parks and attractions more tourists will come and that will create more stores. The more stores the more jobs and jobs help make West Virginia the best it can be. • 18. Matt Bollero Is The Director Of Staffing For The Milwaukee... Matt Bollero is the director of scouting for the Milwaukee Bucks after accepting the position in the summer of 2017. Before that he was a pro personnel scout for the Minnesota Timberwolves, and he graduated from DePauw University in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology. The Bucks are a professional basketball team and a member of the National Basketball Association (NBA) after being founded as an expansion team in 1968. The team currently has one of the top ten players in the league with the twenty–three–year–old Giannis Antetokounmpo, and they are believed to be one of the up and coming teams in the near future. Contact information for both the Bucks and Matt can be found on nba.com. From my conversation with Matt, I found out ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Have they worked camps or coached? 4. Are they showing passion and dedication to trying to find new ways to get involved with the game? 5. Is the person willing to sacrifice to achieve their goal? The last quality of a scout is usually the hardest to come by as one might guess because of being on the road for so long. It is tough to keep a family in this job because of time commitments, and the starting pay can be quite low. Scouts usually report to the director of scouting, and then the director reports to upper management such as the general manager, assistant general manager, vice president of global scouting, and director of strategy. It is also possible that scouts and the director will also be heavily involved with coaches within the organization. The information gathered will help teams in many ways. It allows them to draft the best possible player and to get the best free agents for the right price, but it helps them prepare for games against opposing teams. These three parts are vital when it comes to winning in the present but also in future years. Matt said that the most exciting part about his job was being able to win and being such a big part of the process. Matt gave some advice to me that would be good for any college student looking to get this job or a similar one. Get involved in the basketball career field as soon as possible doing as much as possible. Experience is everything in this business. If he had done anything different he would have ... • 20. Call Of The Wild Conflict Analysis In the novel Call of the Wild, Buck, the protagonist struggles with the constant duality between his "Love of a Man" and his pull towards savagery. The civilization that greeted Buck in the Santa Clara Valley was one that was based on Southern Hospitality, but the savagery that slowly ripped and consumed Buck was one of an unforgiving nature, destroying anyone or anything that was unfortunate enough to see it. One major confliction Buck battles with is his "Love of a Man" while he is in the presence of civilization. In the beginning of the novel, while Buck is still on Judge Miller's place, London states, "His father, a huge Saint Bernard, had been the judge's inseparable companion, and Buck bid fair to follow in the way of his father"(12). Buck enjoyed being in the company of the Judge's family and was comfortable in the ways of civilization. On page 23, the novel states, "Francois's whip snapped less frequently, and Perrault even honored Buck by lifting up his feet and carefully examining them." When Perrault did this, it made Buck feel that "love of a man" that he strives for. Later in the novel, John Thornton saved Buck from his previous owners Hal, Charles, and Mercedes, and took care of Buck until his wounds healed and he regained his strength. "But love that was feverish and burning, that was adoration, that was madness,it had taken John Thornton to arouse"(58). • 22. Emotional Stress In Eveline Stress can be paralyzing. The condition of emotional strain resulting from detrimental circumstances is sometimes so consuming that its victims are no longer capable of moving. This is mental paralysis. People that experience mental paralysis are so damaged by their life experiences that they cannot hardly act or make decisions on their own. In James Joyce's "Eveline," Eveline's sad life constantly reminds her of deaths, troubles her with difficulties, and begs her to leave, and she is presented with a perfect opportunity to escape to a new life and land with her boyfriend Frank, but she cannot seize it because her emotional damage leaves her disabled. Eveline's home life gives her countless reasons to leave, providing her only the memories of what she has lost and the demands of her abusive father. Everyone good in her life left or is leaving her. Her mother, Tizzie Dunn, Ernest, and Harry have died, the Walters have gone back to England, and now Frank is leaving too. If Eveline does not leave with Frank, the only person she will have left is her abusive father. He verbally abuses her, he physically abused her mother and siblings, and she fears he might her soon as well: "She sometimes felt herself in danger of her father's violence" (Joyce). Eveline's father fights with her about money and hints that he is a drinker: "The invariable squabble for money on Saturday nights had begun to weary her unspeakably. • 24. Literary Analysis Of Eveline James Joyce's "Eveline" is a short story about a nineteen–year–old Eveline, who contemplates abandoning a life she is accustomed to and moving to a distant land with a man she hardly knows. In one hand she holds the weight of uncertain happiness, in the other, inevitable misery. Eveline needs to make a choice between two contrasting lives; one in which she is a servant to her father, in other, a respected wife. Following her mother's death, Eveline assumes the role of a parent and inherits all the chores accompanying it. She works hard at home and "the Stores" (Joyce 74), but for all her troubles, Eveline gets little respect in return. Now with one brother dead and other away on business, she is left alone to keep the family together and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Being at the bottom of the hierarchy, Eveline's only means of escape is a man who will take her hand in marriage. Eveline's father is the second most important character in the story, yet Joyce chooses not to reveal his name. That is because he is only a father in a biological sense, falling short at every other fatherly duty. He is abusive and flaunts his dominance by "threaten[ing]" (Joyce 73) Eveline well into her adulthood. The threats seem unprovoked and random, indicating father's attempts to instill fear rather than curb or abolish an offending behavior. Compensating for his failures, the father uses aggression and control to get what he wants. "Her father was becoming old lately, she noticed; he would miss her" (Joyce 75), the narrator draws our attention to the aging of the father and impending helplessness following it. Though Joyce does not clarify how the father will miss Eveline, judging by his past conducts, it is safe to assume that he would miss Eveline's help around the house and money the most. Still, as she contemplates leaving, Eveline sees good in him and "tries to balance her father's increasing capacity for violence by remembering three random acts of kindness"(Trudell) that seemingly undue all the wrong he has done in the past. Texas has 254 counties, the most of any state. Each county is governed by a five–member Commissioners Court, which consists of a County Judge (elected at–large) and four Commissioners (elected from single–member precincts). The County Judge has no veto authority over the decisions of the Court, s/he has one vote along with the other Commissioners. When power is transferred in the "reverse" direction, it acts much like a boost converter. The upsides of the synchronous buck converter don't come without cost. To start with, the lower switch normally costs more than the freewheeling diode. Second, the multifaceted nature of the converter is unfathomably expanded because of the requirement for a reciprocal yield switch driver. Such a driver must keep both changes from being turned on in the meantime, a blame known as "shootthrough". Should you simply condone the behavior, participate in it, or remove yourself from the situation? Is there more at stake here than just your own interests and prosperity? This essay will look at a case study involving corruption in a local county government. In this case, Jenny must decide whether or not to expose the rampant corruption prevalent in her workplace. Should Jenny turn a blind eye thereby avoiding any negative consequences, or should she expose these actions and possibly compromise her career aspirations? In considering her case, I believe the best choice Jenny should make involves her exposing the corruption. I will argue for this position through the utilitarian theory of ethics. Before I argue for what Jenny should do, we should first look at the options available to her. Jenny could choose to ignore the obvious theft and misuse of public funds and property. Additionally, she could accept the nepotism displayed by the rest of her coworkers. The immediate benefit to her would be in maintaining the status quo. Jenny would continue to work here until such time as she would be able to move onto another government work place. But choosing this option would mean she would be indirectly approving of the behavior we know has made her uncomfortable. Besides the guilt she would experience, Jenny would also be subject to possible prosecution once the corruption was discovered. For ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Duality And Duality In The Call Of The Wild Duality in The Call of the Wild In the novel Call of the Wild, Buck, the protagonist struggles with the constant duality between his "Love of a Man" and his pull towards savagery. Buck had never experienced true love for a man, all his previous ... Counties in California are responsible for providing limited services to unincorporated areas. The state Legislature created the Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) in 1963 to control local government fragmentation. The Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) gives counties the power to tax, create special districts and annex unincorporated land to cities in the county (League of Women Voters, 1992). • 52. Analysis Of James Joyce 's ' Araby ' In the short story Araby, James Joyce provides the audience with a glimpse if 19th century Ireland seen through the eyes of an adolescent young man. It is this adolescence and the navies of the world that is under attack. Joyce masterfully reveals an innocence held by Araby by contrasting it with a setting filled with symbology that eludes to the hopeless reality in which he lives. Joyce injects a sense of unrealized bleakness for the protagonist by the imagery that he puts forth. "North Richmond street, being blind was a quiet street except for the hour..." (Joyce 200), immediately sets the atmosphere as one that is almost desolate, with iron gray clouds heavy with grief for the people below. The with the ending phrase," except for the hour" (Joyce 200), reinforces this feeling. Only one hour, where life and movement grace this street but fleeting, like freshly minted snowflake landing on a cheek flushed with embarrassment. Much like a crepuscular ray, pushing through clouds, when gone, do the clouds not seem darker. The path to adult hood for Araby rests under these skies and winds thorough a morass of self–truth and a sense of predestined caste. The reality of Arabys life comes into focus early on. His poor and reality destitute situation made apparent mainly by where he lives. "An uninhabited house...stood at the blind end, detached from its neighbors (Joyce 200)", is revealing to the economic station of Araby. The fact that he lives with his uncle suggest that in his ... In the moments of push and pull and on the spot decision making, all of the responsibility and possible repercussions of a bad spur of the moment decision rests on a leaders shoulder. It can be overwhelming, stressful, and even intimidating at times. At what point do I know that I am and will continue to be a successful leader? That can be a difficult question for one to answer, because success, as I have learned, is different to everyone. A great place to begin is to point out all of the things I am doing wrong as a leader. After the reading and understanding of "What Got You Here Won't Get You There", I've come to learn I have a few of the "bad habits" the author pointed out. It's a little too easy to look over the list of habits the author discusses and silently think to myself that at one time or another I am probably guilty of each one. A few that I am most guilty of are: Passing judgement, Starting with NO, BUT, HOWEVER, Failing to give proper recognition, Not listening, and Passing the buck (Goldsmith, 2007). Though I may not portray all of these bad habits on a daily basis, it's the fact that I have exhibited them at some point in the past that is toxic to my leadership skills. Research Design and Methodology 4.1Introduction The purpose of this study is to find out what are the causes of the high compliance rate in property taxes in the municipal city of Portmore, Jamaica. Taxes are of essential importance to small developing countries as they do not have much needed resources. As further developments takes place in the municipal city property values will increase, hence the amount of property tax collected by the Portmore municipal council will also increase. This increase however, is not a guarantee that the tax collection will be sufficient in the maintenance of the community due to the rising cost of goods and services. Hence continuous voluntary compliance is essential and important as it most efficient for both the tax payer and the tax authorities. This section gives the hypothesis or research perspectives, the design of the research and the methods that were used to gather the data. 4.2 Hypotheses/ Research Perspectives My research perspective on the Municipal City of Portmore attaining the highest compliance rate property tax collections in Jamaica are: That the tax payers have recognised the need and importance of property tax to the community. It could be seen that he was the largest buck around the place. "Well I am going to the woods now, I can feel it in my blood and bones that Bull will come out today" exclaimed Buck. Buck was so excited to go hunting more today than any other day, he knew that today would be the day. As Buck walked to the woods, he began to move faster than he started off and was soon almost in a jog, all of his adrenaline was pumping full steam; he realized this ... Buck walked over to a humongous tree and set down and positioning himself to shoot where he thought the buck would walk. If buck is still enough he just might get a shot of a lifetime to kill Bullwinkle. " Now to settle my mind, so that I can concentrate and time will fly, but oh my lord it is getting cold." he thought to himself. Two hours had passed by, 2 does had walked onto the field and good sized ones to. "I know I can take a shot at either of them, and it would be a lot of meat but I need to wait". • 70. The Case Of Buffalo For Real The narrative that gets told about a city influences public policies, economic development initiatives, and even civic morale and engagement. For example, in the case of Buffalo, pervasive myths about high property tax rates have influenced the public's perception about the funding of public programs and fed the desire for irresponsible tax cuts. Similarly, stories that fail to acknowledge issues of poverty, inequality, and segregation marginalize certain groups and hinder constructive dialogue on how to fix these issues. Many of the solutions previously proposed to make Buffalo prosper, assumed that the city was in dire straits. While it is true that Buffalo had been hit by hard times, haphazard attempts at economic developments only exasperated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In 2010, the poverty rate was 29.6% and the unemployment rate is currently 12.4%. In addition, most of the poverty is concentrated on the west side and the east side. These issues have been compounded by a dwindling population as many choose to avoid the inner–city poverty in favor of living in the surrounding suburbs. With that being said, Buffalo has many underutilized or unrecognized resources. First, Buffalo has access to the Great Lakes. As water scarcity becomes a more pressing issue, the Great Lakes will become an even more valuable resource. Buffalo needs to recognize the value of this resource and stop dumping raw sewage into the water. Second, the city is located near Niagara Falls, one of the biggest tourist attractions in the world. The only problem is that Buffalo doesn't have as many attractions to keep tourist in the area for a longer period. Also, its rich past has endowed it with magnificent architecture and historic landmarks. By accentuating these locations, Buffalo could increase its tourism traffic. The economic situation in Buffalo has been bleak, but its proximity to Toronto could lead to a resurgence if the city's prime location is utilized. By taking stock of the resources that it has at its disposal, Buffalo can change the narrative about its future ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

We need to join the rest of the progressive regions in this state and establish a new, more efficient form of government. Pulaski County and the cities of Somerset, Science Hill, Ferguson, and Burnside need to merge together and create an urban county government. This will help to consolidate duplicate services, provide better representation for the citizens of Pulaski County, and strengthen the economy in this region. We live in a magnificent part of the state of Kentucky. We have picturesque landscapes, really pleasant residents, and a magnificent lake that supports a huge part of our economy through tourism. ... Therefore, in April of 2013 the Somerset–Pulaski County United group formed and began the process of having feasibility studies done to see if the formation of an urban county government would be an alternative that would serve our area well. According to the Commonwealth Journal, a newspaper in Somerset, Kentucky, "A group of about 60 community leaders, clustered as Somerset–Pulaski County United (SPCU), is embarking on a study to determine if a consolidated or united government in Pulaski County would be more efficient and more responsive to the county's 63,000 residents." (Mardis and Shmidheiser). This group, a cross–section that well represents the residents of this county, believes that the formation an urban county government is a great opportunity for all our futures. Unfortunately, the SPCU has faced much antagonism in this initial phase of work. Many current government leaders are afraid of what changes might do to their positions of power. But these same leaders are also the ones who create problems and allow current ones to continue. Having a council of peers will give a voice everyone in the area, not just the few who reside in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They were caught for committing fraudulent and illegal activities from 2010 to 2014. This started after Devin was promoted as the Director of Finance and Allison was promoted to Controller as she worked directly under him. In 2012, they took advantage of fraudulent behavior because they had access to all of the finances in balancing checks and wiring transfers. On January 8, 2014, the U.S. Attorney has stated that the BISD school District Finance Officer and Controller, managed to embezzle over $4,000,000 from the school district by creating fake companies and issuing purchase orders and invoices that paid directly to an account ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, eleven days after the last transfer, the FBI raided on BISD headquarters and the homes of McCraney and Allison to bring the alleged scheme to an apparent halt. This is because the fraudulent activity was reported by a local news magazine that decided to take interest in why McCraney was upgrading home and cars excessively. The reporter was able to uncover that McCraney purchased his home upgrade in cash. This was estimated to be about $125,000, which was upgraded immediately and expanded within a couple of months. Also, it was reported that he purchased an estimate of $200,000 in cash for new cars alongside his hoe upgrade. These purchases came out from several bank accounts that were from different banks to help pay off his mortgage that cost over 80,000 dollars. This brought up red flags because the annual salary for the Director of Finance was estimated to be 80,000 dollars and he had no other income reported. Thus, this brought suspicion from the Government, which forced him to plead guilty due to fraud of receiving illegal federal funds. As a result, he is facing five years in federal prison. As for Sharika Allison, she has been guilty for fraud because her annual salary as a Controller was 62,000 dollars and she had no proof of additional income reported. Thus, she pleaded guilty of committing fraud upon receiving illegal federal funds and was sentenced to three years to federal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
