Helpful Hands, Inc., 2016 Call for Letters of Intent (LOIs), Open to existing Community Partners,
Deadline November 15, 2015
Helpful Hands, Inc. is currently accepting Letters of Intent (LOIs) from our existing community
partners who are service organizations and non-profits in Seminole County, FL for consideration
of 2016 program funding. Unsolicited submissions will not be considered at this time.
Why Letters of Intent (LOIs)? Helpful Hands, Inc. is asking for Letters of Intent (LOIs) to assist us
in our grant making process. As part of this process, we need to collect more data on our
programs. This data will include the people we serve, program activities, and services we provide
to help improve quality of life.
Award Information: Grant size is based on greatest need per program during the 12-month
funding period.
Program Funding: Helpful Hands, Inc. funds grants to our partner programs for quality of life
enrichment in our local community through revenues derived from our fundraising, events,
Board of Directors, and generosity of our supporters through our Gifting Society.
Program Service Area: Helpful Hands, Inc. serves East Seminole County, East Orange County and
East Orlando.
Philosophy: Our philosophy is to provide quality of life programs for children and families to
promote a positive connection to our community by fostering stability, growth, development of
life skills, civic betterment, diversity and opportunities for activities to enhance their education.
We strongly feel that our programs help develop those healthy characteristics for children and
families we serve to become contributing members of our community by having these positive
experiences during their time of crisis.

Focus Areas: Helpful Hands, Inc. strategically identifies partner organizations that can fulfill our
mission and provide life enhancing opportunities to children and families which will have a
positive impact on quality of life. Our funded programs are our priority for service delivery in the

Eligibility Requirements: Currently funded community partners of Helpful Hands, Inc.
Submission Requirements
1. Typed, Times New Roman Font, 12pt, not to exceed 2 pages, submitted on your
organization letterhead
2. For 501 (c) (3) non-profit organizations, submit a copy of your IRS Letter of Determination
as an attachment
3. Provide a brief overview about your organization, include your mission statement and
service area
4. What program are you requesting funding for?
5. Specify the amount of funding requested
6. What target population you intend to reach?
7. How will your program impact quality of life and connect the target population to the
community?
8. Explain how you will evaluate, track, or report the number of participants in the program
and how your organization can communicate these results for the 12-month funding
period. Indicate if you prefer to complete a program progress report.
9. Tell us if your program will be able to provide public recognition of Helpful Hands, Inc. as
funder of your program and how, i.e. social media, events, send thank you, etc.
10. You do not need to submit a separate budget. Break down your total amount of funding
requesting into two or three goals for your project to show us how you will use the
funding. See the example below:

Funding for Community Impact Amount
Goal 1 $3,000 will be used to provide
scholarships for 20 children from needy
families in Seminole County for six months of
private music lessons.

Goal 2 $4,000 will be used to implement a new
scholarship program for 14 special needs
children from high-risk families in Seminole
County for weekly group music lessons.
