The advert primarily features an adorable dog named Gracie whom is the adverts
centrepiece. The narrator reveals the money towards buying the product will be used to
help find homes for dogs such as Gracie. The clip then features other playing dogs in
order to not make the advert too sad and heart wrenching.
A moving piano piece is used throughout to set and keep the solemn mood. A calm
narrators voice is used in order to tell the story and endorse the product through the use of
sadness.
‘For every dog that gets adopted, there’s one that doesn’t’
‘So when you buy pedigree, we make a donation to help dogs like Gracie find loving
homes’
‘Help us, help dogs’
Aimed at pet owners to buy this particular food for their dogs
Dog and basic animal lovers
The message is that buying something so ordinary for pet owners, dog food, you can help
home unfortunate dogs. It is successful in creating sympathy and is an advert that will
keep you watching for the 31 seconds.
