Introduction
The article I have chosen is," The Problematic Complexities raised by the Dynamics of Globalization by Deane Neubauer. Deane Neubauer is a Senior
Researcher with the Globalization research center, University of Hawaii, Manoa, and U.S.A. This particular article discusses different subjects of
globalization through it relevant dynamics. Such as: the collapse of time and space, migration and urbanization, wealth creation and distribution,
transformation of global media, trade and consumption and transformation of value. The notion of globalization has become a commonplace and
through everyday conversation, throughout news reports, within scholarly discourse. The article is meant to bring more clarification to the nature of

Globalization should be opening door through trade and education to lower, if not close, the wide gap between the rich and poor, and give everyone
an equal share. We should identify some of the groups living under the poverty line; children, women and old ages affected by globalization and help
them like. There should be a structured plan to ideally facilitate and organized not only the development and construction of globalization, but also the
people who it affects. The world should know what individuals will be forced to be moved out and relocated, since the landowner sold the property
and everything on it belong to the association that is funding it. Before having a hand played in the costs to build a stadium or something to
revolutionize your sports on a global frame, think not only about the winner's affects but the losers

Red Headed Hawaiian Essay
The book that can change my life is The Red Headed Hawaiian. It can change my life because in the book there was a boy named Rudy, and when
he was in school he got teased because he was white and he had red hair. When he was in school he didn't care about his grades and didn't care about
his life after school. Then when his plan to be a diesel mechanic right after high school failed because the price of diesel skyrocketed, so the diesel
mechanics couldn't make money like he thought he would of. So he needed to go to college to get a job. Then when his mom applied for him to go to
college they wouldn't take him because his grades were so bad in high school. Then they said they would take him if he did this program over the
summer and that would let him get into University of Hawaii at Manoa. So his mom signed him up for that and Rudy went off and did the program.
He went to college and he also was messing around and didn't care about his grades in college. All he wanted to do was hang out with his
Hawaiian friends and party. Then one day Ruby and his friend Chris were watching this tv show called General Hospital and then Rudy told Chris
"I think i'm going to be a doctor," then Chris said "Braddah you ain't no doctor." When Chris said that it mad Rudy more determined to become a
doctor. After that day Rudy changed his whole style of how he was in college, he started hanging out with different people, he finally studied, and he
was not messing around anymore. Then Rudy took the MCAT test and got a good score and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Cyber Security And Social Engineering
Introduction
Background Information
Of all the things that we've learned in this course, one of the weakest aspects of cyber security is social engineering. Social engineering is a way for
people to manipulate others into breaking normal security procedures, by relying heavily on human interaction. An organization could have the most
state–of–the–art cyber protection software and the strictest policies, but all of that can be broken down from human error, negligence, or malice. Cyber
criminals can exploit personal information from someone easier than hacking a system for the same information. We tend to give out personal
information without thinking of the possible consequences. Security is about trust because we trust our information is ... Show more content on

As a group, the first thing we did was to attain as much general information we can find on Professor Ravi. Since many of us have taken his classes
from previous semesters, we still have his syllabi that contain his general information. Information such as his office number and school email were
easily found. All school related information can also be found on the University of Hawaii at Manoa ICS department website. We located his class
schedule by utilizing the University of Hawaii at Manoa class availability site for the 2016 Spring semester. There are public information sites such
as WhitePages.com and YellowPages.com that allowed us to find his last known address and phone number. A simple google search enabled us to
find his pictures and possible weekly activities and Facebook page was found easily via the search function on Facebook. The following information

Aquarist
There are many jobs within the marine biology category. The job aquarist is very important as it entails a lot of responsibility. "An Aquarist" is
someone that cares for the marine life in aquariums by maintaining their environments and have hands on interactions with the organisms. Aquarists
can perform several different functions depending on their position.(Kramer) Many are involved with caring for marine life and properly maintaining
the quality of their habitats. They can care for the organisms by feeding them, providing activities for the smarter organisms, or taking in the sick
animals so they can be seen. They can look after the aquarium tanks by monitoring the cleanliness, temperature, cleaning the environments, and fixing
damaged equipment.(Kramer) They are very knowledgeable by being able provide presentations to visitors or design exhibits for the aquarium. Most
Aquarists work in aquariums where fish and other marine life live. Aquarists may be required to perform fieldwork, they must be able to travel to other
locations to collect specimens that could be used in the aquarium.(Kramer) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A survey from the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported an average salary of $23,630 per year for a beginning aquarist. Experienced aquarists in
higher roles earn significantly higher salaries, often in the range of $40,000 to $50,000 per year.(Kramer) Total compensation may also vary due to
where the person works, the size of the aquarium, the aquarist's area of specialization, and the specific duties of the job. The job demand for
Aquarists is expected to grow 15% in the next 10 years. High job turnover is expected in positions that require more tedious tasks, while more
advanced positions may see an increase due to rising interest in the environment and ocean

Abstract In recent years, TESOL has called for the study of the social and cognitive factors that affect adult English learners' participation in formal
language learning. This research project investigated the motivational processes of 10 adult immigrant English learners which led them to take an

Readiness to learn which relates the timing of learning experiences to stages of human development 5. A problem–centered approach to learning with
the immediate application of knowledge to real–life situations 6. Motivation to learn by internal factors (originated in the self), rather than external ones
Kidd (1973) expanded the connection between adult learning and the concept of the self, stating "all new experiences for the [adult] learner are
symbolized and organized into some relationship to the self, or ignored because there is no perceived relationship" (p. 127). Voluntary participation in
education thus only happens when education itself is meaningful to the adult students' sense of who they are and what they want to be.

Kolb (1984) proposed a model of learning as a continuous cycle in which concrete experiences lead to their evaluation, conceptualization and the
subsequent active experimentation. For example, a student's experience of adjustment to a new social environment leads to the development of
education goals and the subsequent participation in an organized learning activity. Learning as a psychological process happens in a multi–faceted
interaction with the learner's world. Set in a social context, adult learning is not an acquisition, or receptive process but also one of externalization.

Population Health Nursing Program
I am defined by the multiple communities that I belong to. In each one there are leaders who set the tone and determine how well the community does

compassionate care. I look forward to directing a team of nurses, and learning together how to bridge the gap between the health of the population and
underserved racial groups. Disparities in health and health care limit our nation's quality of life and overall health care cost. As the population
continues to grow more diverse, all–encompassing health care will be essential to the future of our country. Nursing is my passion and the platform I

A Medical Revolution Essay
In the spring of 1918, the first wave of one of the deadliest influenza pandemics began plaguing its victims (Peters, ix). Over the span of three lethal
waves, the pandemic claimed approximately forty million victims, eradicating nearly twenty percent of the entire world's population, or about one out
of five individuals (Peters, ix). To make matters more dire, the ill–suited medical community was exceptionally unprepared for such a wide–scale
pandemic: Doctors had very basic tools, knew little about diseases, and had no experience with vaccinations or prevention (Peters, 1–5; "The 1920s:
Medicine and Health: Overview", n.p.). People blindly faced the epidemic, relying on folk remedies such as consuming wine, drinking antiseptic, and ...

Although doctors were supposed to be considered medical experts, they were not taken seriously due to the fact that a patient had less than a fifty
percent chance of benefiting from a doctor's visit ("The 1920s: Medicine and Health: Overview", n.p.). Doctors struggled to diagnose and fix medical
problems due to inexperience and lack of tools ("The 1920s: Medicine and Health: Overview", n.p.). As a result of the substandard medical community,
maternal deaths and child deaths were commonplace, while simple sicknesses often turned into fatal infections ("The 1920s: Medicine and Health:
Overview", n.p.). When the first wave of the influenza pandemic struck in the spring of 1918, the medical community was taken aback by the
pandemic's unpredicted wrath (Peters, 13). The typically mellow influenza virus, characterized by familiar symptoms of fever, headache, fatigue,
cough, sore throat, congestion, and body aches, claimed victims within hours (Peters, ix, 1–5). This was a sickness like no other, and it left the medical
community baffled. Doctors nor medical experts knew what the sickness was, why it was spreading, what was causing it, or how to fix it (Peters, 1–5).

Ross explains that he understands that forensic psychology is a relatively new specialty area. However, he added that working juvenile cases,
domestic violence cases, and screening cases gave him a much broader and clear perspective of the field. In addition, he stated that working closely
with law enforcement specialists and psychologists allowed him to gain more perspective. "Both lawyers and forensic psychologists assist law
enforcement professionals in investigating and solving crime" (Baker & De Long, 2009). Ross states that many legal issues that tangles with
psychological nature spawns from questions of human behaviors and mental states and processes of human beings. Ross explains that these past
works enabled him to appreciate the area of forensic psychology. He further states some of the tactics and skills that this discipline provides. Forensic
psychology furnishes his skills to determine the competency of a criminal defendant, the extent to which an eyewitness is reliable, psychological
defenses a criminal defendant can rely on, and how much discretion should judges have in sentencing. Ross explains the new approach that this field
offers and how it may use scientific research and empirical knowledge to handle these issues. (Counselor Ross was very general when answering). First

The Prostitution of the Hawaiian Islands
Lovely Hula Hands: Corporate Tourism and the Prostitution of Hawaiian Culture written by Haunani Kay Trask was written in 1993. Trask wrote this
paper to inform Americans about what she thinks of tourism, a "colonial imposition" towards the Hawaiian culture. Trask incorporates ethos, pathos
and logos throughout her essay to show how tourism effects these three points in the Hawaiian culture: The homeland, the language and dance of the
culture and the familial relationships.

Later in the Conklin's interview he gives us Trask 's definition of "racism" which is where one ethnic or racial group dominates another to gain the
culture and ethical values. For example, how the United States of America "dominated" Hawaii.
Trask is able to use logos to prove how tourism has affected the Hawaiian culture. Trask refers to Hawaii as a "She" who "Rubs off" on the visitor
with her magical presence. The beauty of Hawaii is used as an escape from "Rawness and violence" for most Americans though, Trask mentions
that the land has a "Western sexual sickness" (Trask 1993). "Of course, all this hype is necessary to hide the truth about tourism, the awful
exploitative truth that the industry is the major cause of environmental degradation, low wages, land dispossession, and the highest cost of living in
the United States" (Trask 1993). Trask says that the areas of Hawaii which were "sacred" to the Hawaiian's have now been turned into top of the
line hotels. The beaches that were once full of fishermen and their nets are used for recreational activities like surfing getting a tan and jet skiing. On
most of the beaches owned by resorts, the beaches are reserved for hotel residences only. In the essay, Trask gives the readers logos as to how tourism
is changing the land. For example, thirty years ago the ratio of Hawaiians outnumbered the tourist 2:1. Today,

Lois–Ann Yamanaka's fictional novel Heads by Harry is a remarkably raw and exciting read that dives the reader into the lives of the working class

Toni refused to take it to the next level due to the fact that Billy was younger than her, a Haole, and was considered as family. As months past, Toni

Midori Sueda's Hard Work
Midori Sueda's story is a long and winding one full of nice people, fortunate encounters, hard work and perseverance. It spans three separate

Midori Soto was born on a Maui farm on an April morning in 1932. Growing up, her family did everything manually. They watered the field, tilled the
land, planted the seeds, and harvested the crop: everything. It was at this point in her life that Midori realized that she did not want to do this as her

But college was a financial commitment that her family did not have the means to make. So, when she moved to Honolulu to go to the University of

Midori go her masters in education in two years and then continued onto getting her PhD. She had already completed eight credits and was working on

The flight home was a disaster. At the time, she had no money for a plane ride; she told the travel agent as such. But that was a different day and

global warming–based issues, but what does it mean to the in today's society? Even when narrowed to the disciplines of architecture and planning, it is
a multifaceted and loaded concept. Kenny and Meadowcroft discuss a shift in this complex term, stating that
"It is worth emphasizing that the notion of sustainability does not in any way imply only one kind of social future as the embodiment of 'the' sustainable
society. Environmental ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The interest in sustainability is beginning to call into question some of the established modes of disciplinary thinking in the social sciences.
Environmental economics began the assault by rattling the bars of its disciplinary cage, but this exercise is gradually being taken forward in other
disciplines."
This point of departure of 'sustainability' shows that it has encompassed much more than the shallow context of green house gas emissions and
alternative energies. Today, it takes on a much more holistic approach, which also considers social and economic aspects in order to achieve a
'sustainable' society. Balancing environmental, economic, and equitable social dimensions (also known as the three E's) is discussed by Saha and
Paterson, as well as case studies on how governments have attempted to classify and address these issues. Some of the dimensions studied included;
ecological footprint analysis, energy efficient measures, transportation management, local employment industries, affordable housing provisions, and
administration/governance measures. Although approaches to these dimensions vary, the underlying message is that these aspects, which can be
generally classified into one of the three E's, should all be studied and considered to find long–term solutions in development and planning.

Argumentative Essay On Mars
As prominent astronomer and astrobiologist Carl Sagan declares, "The sky calls to us. If we do not destroy ourselves, we will one day venture to the
stars" (Sagan). In stating this, Sagan asserts his belief that one day humans will travel beyond the Earth. Many believe that this time has finally come.
Humanity is well–prepared for a manned Mars mission and should start to colonize the red planet.
One of the major obstacles standing in the way of humans reaching Mars is the massive amount of space radiation that astronauts would encounter.
According to NASA science writer Sarah Frazier, strategies for dealing with this radiation already exist, and more are continually being investigated.

Importance Of A Career In Nursing
Mastering and understanding the body's response to diet and exercise intrigued me. Being knowledgeable in promoting a high quality of life and
optimum health appealed to me. Studying the art and science of human anatomy and movement interested me, which resulted in choosing nursing
as my career. For me to be a successful nurse, it is vital that I complete a nursing program. USF would be great for me because I am a dedicated
achiever of my goals, and will finish your program with an open mind and a driven spirit. A career in nursing would be my way of giving back to
my community and those that have supported me along my educational journey. People I have crossed paths with didn't expect much from me as a
student because of my upbringing. I come from a split family home in Compton, California and I have learned to overcome adversity and treat
obstacles as a stepping stone, leading me to my greater purpose. I am not afraid to make mistakes, as I have learned that this is the greatest
opportunity for growth. I believe that hard work and a good attitude could get me far in this field and I am willing to take on the challenge of
continuing my higher education, as it would be an honor to do so in your program.
My experiences from volunteering and shadowing health professionals has taught me a great deal about professionalism in the field. I observed my

Outside Influence On The Hawaii
Outside Influences Negatively Impact Hawaii Widely known as "paradise", Hawaii is a desired place to live and vacation. Families, couples, and
individuals come to take part in the temperate weather and beautiful beaches. However, Hawaii now is nothing like it use to be – the real history
behind this popular chain of islands is rarely told to visitors. Back in early Hawaiian times, Hawaii was self–sufficient, independent, and gorgeous all
around. The number of Native Hawaiians flourished, and everyone helped contribute to the community. All that changed, however, when outsiders
began to settle here in Hawaii. Although the different outside influences may have brought some positivity to Hawaii, the negative side of their arrival
overwhelmingly defeats it.
Upon his expedition on January 18, 1778, English explorer Captain Cook was the first European to discover the Hawaiian Islands. While
commanding the Resolution and Discovery to explore the Northwest Passage, Cook and his crew stumbled upon O'ahu and Kaua'i. Native
Hawaiians did not perceive these British sailors as a threat, and in fact "Greeted [Captain Cook] as a sacred high chief or god" ("Captain Cook"
para 1). However, they were not fully aware of the effects of his arrival. According to Peter Pirie, a Professor of Geography at the University of
Hawaii at Manoa, "...the two Cook visits refer to the problem of venereal diseases among the crews... [to] their transmission from the newcomers to the
Hawaiian population" (75).

Causes And Effects Of Coral Reefs
Ground water contamination, damage to coral reefs, sea grass beds and mangrove ecosystems, salinization of soils and damage to vegetation,
tsunami–generated waste and debris, impacts on sewage collection and treatment systems, damage to protected areas, coastline erosion and
inundation, changes in river hydrology, and loss of livelihoods based on natural resources or ecosystem services are all examples of damage caused by a
tsunami.
Coral reefs are natural breakwaters for a tsunami wave as it moves towards the coastline. The December 2004 Indonesian earthquake tsunami devastated
coral reefs around Indian Ocean coastlines. Four years after the tsunami, the healthy corals were still regenerating. Due to the increase of sedimentation,
it doesn't allow light from the sun to penetrate through the water. It is crucial for coral reefs to get sunlight for reproduction. Another major issue is the
amount of debris from land bulldozes habitats. Within minutes, most of the seawater that destroyed coastal communities returned to the ocean, bringing
untold tons of stuff with it; all the remnants of humanity including pieces of buildings, cars, trees, garbage, huge amounts of plastics, eroded soils and
likely a wide variety of pollutants from those soils, homes, factories, stores, etc. Then there are the plastics and non–biodegradable junk that will
initially pollute the coastlines and will then move out to sea, eventually reaching the north Pacific and the western shores of North

the two languages are used differently in school and in the church. Both languages are viewed differently by non speakers. Lastly both pidgin languages

Personality Is A Social Creature
Personality is something that humans take pride in having. Being that it is one of the most difficult things for researchers to study due to its
complexity and its habit of changing, but for everyone else, it can be carried around with ease. Sometimes it is treated like an accessory,
something that is shown off or it inspected by other people. Personality is also how one person is described to another. Being the social creatures
that humans are, being able to describe people to each other requires the entirety of a personality to be subdivided into specific tendencies that a
person may have. The subdivision of person's personality leaves cracks in how it is understood, but it allows people able to more efficiently
describe personality as well as study it. After taking an online quiz, it appears that in some aspects a computing system is able to understand more of

To begin, the first issue explores how the present price tag of college has increasingly become more expensive and continues to rise every year. Many
students are attending colleges that they are unable to afford out of pocket. The result of this is students turning to alternative means to pay for college,
which is primarily accepting large amounts of loans from organizations such as FASA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Therefore, many
students accumulate large amounts of debt throughout their time in school due to lack of proper preparation and research of the type of loans they are
receiving. Despite the high level of educational debt that looms over our nation today, a large majority of students still choose pursue their educational
goals in obtaining a degree.
As of mid–July 2016, the outstanding student loan debt was almost $1.4 trillion and is estimated to reach $2.5 trillion by (Muralidhar, Pamecha, 2017).
To put in perspective how much the cost of attending college has increased, in 1980, at the average four yearuniversity, a student who worked full time

Invasive and Dangerous: The Coqui Frog Recently, an invasive and lilliputian frog has had a detrimental effect on the Hawaiian environment.
Originally from Puerto Rico, the amphibian arrived in Hawaii and spread like a plague. Such a small frog cannot have that big of an impact, right?
Wrong. The Coqui frog is a damaging invasive species of the Hawaiian islands due to its lack of natural predators and adaptability, dangerous eating
habits, and its easy distribution among the state. One reason the Coqui Frog is especially harmful to Hawaii's many ecosystems is because they are
adaptable and have no natural predators. For example, the Hawaii Invasive Species Council states the frog has "No natural predators to keep

According to the Hawaii Invasive Species Council, "Coqui frogs do not travel very far on their own, but when given the chance to hop on a nursery
plant, flowers, or vehicle, they can quickly spread. Most coqui arrive on new islands through infested nursery plants and flowers. Intra–island, coqui
travel by the movement of plants by humans and may hitch a ride on vehicles" (Coqui). In other words, the frog will latch on to a variety of human
transportations and expand their boundaries. Furthermore, Coquis are nocturnal, so the dissemination of the frogs is partially affiliated with the
motion and relocation of various house plants (Plant). Residents of Hawaii are evidently a large reason the frog has the ability to grow in numbers
and located across the state. Some people when coming across the frog relocate and release it, spreading the frog an even farther distance (which it is

Notes for Energy Cane 100% Irrigation 2016 [MOL6081]
1.Due to the fact that energy cane is not a traditionally–produced crop in Hawaii and only limited data on the crop is available, energy cane production
costs were estimated using adjusted banagrass production cost data per suggestion of Ogoshi (2013). Cost of production data are based on Kinoshita

Kinoshita, C., & Zhou, J. (1999). Siting evaluation for biomass–ethanol production in Hawaii. Honolulu, Hawaii: Department of Biosystems
Engineering, University of Hawaii at Manoa.

The operating overhead costs are assumed to be 10% of total operation cost.
9.The fixed cost of machinery is assumed at 4.44% of total production costs. This percentage is based on ratio of fixed cost to total production cost of
grasses from an Iowa State University publication.
10.Because energy cane is not commercially produced and traded in Hawaii as of this analysis, the price for banagrass was used in the analysis. The
price information of banagrass (dry matter) at US$ 80 was obtained from the Kauai Island Utility Cooperative report published in 2006 and available at:
http://www.kiuc.coop/pdf/KIUC%20RE%20Final%20Report%207%20–%20Biomass%20&%20MSW.pdf. The price was adjusted to 2016 prices
using appropriate consumer price index (CPI) for Honolulu. The 2016 banagrass price is US$ 101.35.

Uh Hilo Case Study
Numerous factors contribute to an individual's decision to attend college. Our study focused on why students specifically chose to attend the University
of Hawaii in Hilo (UH–Hilo). Many interesting points emerged from our study and we uncovered an array of themes that motivated students and
influenced their final decision. The two key points that caught my attention were affordability and Hilo's sense of Place – a geographical term referring
to how places differ in relation to physical and human characteristics. These themes spoke to me on a personal level and their importance was
confirmed upon reading words of a participant when posed the question, "Why did you choose UH–Hilo?" She answered: "Because of its affordability

A majority of my family members reside on the Big Island and I have strong connections not only to my immediate family but to distant relatives as
well. They are instrumental in my collegiate success by providing an effective "support–system". Of the local population we surveyed many valued the
close proximity UH–Hilo is in relation to their hometown and/or families. A handful of students surveyed were accepted into other universities but
instead opted to attend UH–Hilo because their families were here in Hilo. One participant was born and raised in Ka'u and after high school spent a
summer on the mainland. During his time there he realized he missed his family and upon returning home made the decision to attend UH–Hilo to be
closer to them. In Hawai'i family is everything, from childhood we were taught to depend on each other for guidance, support and thus prompted the
establishment of everlasting bonds. Of course in Hawaii the term family is an umbrella–like term and covers everything from grandparents, uncles,
aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and Neighbors alike. One participant was born and raised in Hawaii explained that his relatives on his father's
side lived on the Big Island and characterized them as being "...very laid–back, tight–knit and loving towards each other". Residing with parents was
rather common amongst our native Hilo population and this is understandable as it cuts costs that are associated with housing. One participant shared
that her parents bought her a car in order to keep her from leaving the Island for college. Two of our participants have children of their own and two
fellow researchers emphasized the importance of having family members care for their children while attending classes. Once again, familial support
was a common reason Big Islanders chose to attend UH–Hilo. For others it was the feel of Hilo that influenced their choice. A

Cyber Security And Social Engineering Introduction Background Information Of all the things that we've learned in this course, one of the weakest aspects of cyber security is social engineering. Social engineering is a way for people to manipulate others into breaking normal security procedures, by relying heavily on human interaction. An organization could have the most state–of–the–art cyber protection software and the strictest policies, but all of that can be broken down from human error, negligence, or malice. • 25. Outside Influence On The Hawaii Outside Influences Negatively Impact Hawaii Widely known as "paradise", Hawaii is a desired place to live and vacation. Families, couples, and individuals come to take part in the temperate weather and beautiful beaches. However, Hawaii now is nothing like it use to be – the real history behind this popular chain of islands is rarely told to visitors. Back in early Hawaiian times, Hawaii was self–sufficient, independent, and gorgeous all around. The number of Native Hawaiians flourished, and everyone helped contribute to the community. All that changed, however, when outsiders began to settle here in Hawaii. Although the different outside influences may have brought some positivity to Hawaii, the negative side of their arrival overwhelmingly defeats it. Upon his expedition on January 18, 1778, English explorer Captain Cook was the first European to discover the Hawaiian Islands. While commanding the Resolution and Discovery to explore the Northwest Passage, Cook and his crew stumbled upon O'ahu and Kaua'i. Native Hawaiians did not perceive these British sailors as a threat, and in fact "Greeted [Captain Cook] as a sacred high chief or god" ("Captain Cook" para 1). However, they were not fully aware of the effects of his arrival. According to Peter Pirie, a Professor of Geography at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, "...the two Cook visits refer to the problem of venereal diseases among the crews... [to] their transmission from the newcomers to the Hawaiian population" (75). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 26. Causes And Effects Of Coral Reefs Ground water contamination, damage to coral reefs, sea grass beds and mangrove ecosystems, salinization of soils and damage to vegetation, tsunami–generated waste and debris, impacts on sewage collection and treatment systems, damage to protected areas, coastline erosion and inundation, changes in river hydrology, and loss of livelihoods based on natural resources or ecosystem services are all examples of damage caused by a tsunami. Coral reefs are natural breakwaters for a tsunami wave as it moves towards the coastline. The December 2004 Indonesian earthquake tsunami devastated coral reefs around Indian Ocean coastlines. Four years after the tsunami, the healthy corals were still regenerating. Due to the increase of sedimentation, it doesn't allow light from the sun to penetrate through the water. It is crucial for coral reefs to get sunlight for reproduction. Another major issue is the amount of debris from land bulldozes habitats. Within minutes, most of the seawater that destroyed coastal communities returned to the ocean, bringing untold tons of stuff with it; all the remnants of humanity including pieces of buildings, cars, trees, garbage, huge amounts of plastics, eroded soils and likely a wide variety of pollutants from those soils, homes, factories, stores, etc. Then there are the plastics and non–biodegradable junk that will initially pollute the coastlines and will then move out to sea, eventually reaching the north Pacific and the western shores of North ...
