It takes about 80% of our brain.
Thanks to the cerebrum we learn
new things, we select the language
that we want to use, we take
decisions, we memorize things,
etc. Imagination and creativity are
located in this part.

5. 2. CEREBELLUM
(CEREBELO)
It controls VOLUNTARY
movements, balance and
coordination.

6. 3. BRAIN STEM (TRONCO
ENCEFÁLICO)
It controls INVOLUNTARY
actions such as heart beating,
breathing, sleep, etc.

7. 4. SPINAL CORD (MÉDULA
ESPINAL)
It controls reflex actions. Reflex
actions are not conscious. This
means that we are not aware of them
because they are AUTOMATIC.

8. There are two types of reflex actions:
INBORN and LEARNT.

9. INBORN
INBORN REFLEXES
We didn't learn them. They were
developed inside the mother's womb.

10. When you touch something burning, you lift
your finger away.

11. When something gets into the windpipe,
it is cleared by coughing.

13. LEARNT REFLEXES
At the beginning, they were new things that
we learnt in the cerebrum.

they become automatic and they go to
the spinal cord, where reflex actions
take place.

electrical signals to
other neurons. They
have three main parts.

22. Dendrites emit and receive
electrical signals.
The axon transmits the
electrical signals.

release neurotransmitters.

24. Everytime that we learn something, new
connections between neurons are created.

established.
