I’m aiming to appeal to a young target audience – youngsters who are ideally passionate about Hip
Hop music. This youngsters will be in the category of those who watch Mtv: music channels. Ideally
my target audience would be aged between 16-19 males all over London; who possibly are still in
education (College/Uni) and also come. My magazine aims to appeal particularly to males as it follows
the typical stereotype that Hip Hop is male dominated ; and this will show with the pictures I’ll be using,
the color scheme, etc.

My target audience will belong to a generation who uses slang daily whilst with friends, or people of
the same age which represents the life style in most parts of London. If I use slang in some bits of my
magazine then this will be ideal to appeal to them and be of their liking. Although I have to be aware of
the slang they use because slang tends to always have new words.

The main idea is that my magazine is for Hip Hop lovers, I believe that’s the main aim. The values
would be Rappers or Mc’s who rap about the truth (the world we live in and certain situations) and
things that my target audience has experienced or has been through. The greatest obstacle I think will
be how to keep the magazine on a positive note, as Rappers are not always heard unless you’re
known worldwide and earn millions(in real life) so I don’t know how this would affect my magazine
product. I wouldn’t want them to see my magazine as another way for people to waste money, so my
price (if included) would be reasonable. Also I wouldn’t want my target audience to think my magazine
is useless: I want my target audience to see the difference between my magazine and all the others
that are already out so I need to focus on my target audience 100% to appreciate what they want/like
and be able to give that to them through my magazine.
I want my magazine to be about informing my audience, whether informing about their favorite
rappers and Mc’s, concerts, it’d be all a range of useful info.
