An international cocktail is recognized worldwide. The document describes making a Mojito, a cocktail that originated in Cuba. It has 5 main ingredients: lime juice, fresh mint leaves, sugar, white Cuban rum, and club soda. To make it, the mint and lime are muddled together in a glass with sugar. Then rum, ice, and club soda are added and stirred. It is garnished with a lime wedge.
3. I have chosen to make this cocktail because its fresh and exotic. It reminds me
of Summer and the beach! The Mojito comes from the Island of Cuba
Ingredients
There are 5 ingredients in a Mojito:
Lime juice from fresh limes
Fresh mint leaves
2 teaspoons sugar
White Cuban rum
Sugar
Club soda
Ice
4. The mojito is made in the same glass
that you will drink from, so a shaker is
not required.
Place mint leaves and 1 lime wedge
into a sturdy glass. Use a muddler to
crush the mint and lime to release the
mint oils and lime juice. Add 2 more
lime wedges and the sugar, and
muddle again to release the lime juice.
Do not strain the mixture. Fill the glass
almost to the top with ice. Pour the
rum over the ice, and fill the glass with
carbonated water. Stir, taste, and add
more sugar if desired. Garnish with the
remaining lime wedge.
How I made the Mojito Tools I used
High ball glass
Muddler
Fruit knife
Chopping board
Garnish
I used a classic garnish, a slice of lime
and some fresh mint.
6. Tools I used
Cocktail shaker
2 Small plate for rimming
Martini glass
Garnish
Shredded coconut
Chocolate shavings
How I made my cocktail
I poured some cocoa powder onto a
small plate. Then onto a second plate I
poured some berry sauce. First I
dipped the rim of the glass into the
berry sauce and then into to cocoa
powder. I left it to one side until ready
to fill.
I combined all ingredients in a cocktail
shaker and filled it with ice. I shook it
vigorously for 10-20 seconds, until
cold. I strained it into the prepared
martini glass.
