1. Mise-En-Scene
The background of this image being in a public café with Kate
Nash drinking a smoothie, gives a casual look to her that when
taking a photo shoot she doesn’t need to be in sexual poses.
The lighting of her clothing and the background are quite dark
which enhances the colour of her smoothie as well as her
bright blue jacket; this is to seem the background look distant
and her more up front. The cheesy grin she’s showing makes
her look young and youthful, full of energy, also by drinking
out of the straw gives more of a child appearance. However,
her hair which is curled and backcombed slightly and the
fringe which falls just above her eyes adds a touch of sexiness
to the picture which defines the fact she can be feminine. She
wears hardly any make up except dark black eyeliner which
makes her eyes seem bigger, this adds both to the childish and
sexy look she provides us with.

does wear is dark, like her eye liner this brings attention the
colour of her eyes, which adds a sexy vibe to the picture. By
having her lips parted draws attention to them, this will be
used to grab the male attention for the sexual purposes of this
picture. The background which you can see has brown colours
this suggests a casual background, and this casual behaviour is
shown in her facial expression, as she just does not look
bothered.
Florence Welch has a white background in this picture to
enhance innocence, and then she stands in front of it which
contradicts the innocence due to the fiery red hair which falls
down to her shoulders in a wavy manner. Her facial expression
and body language shouts attitude. The blue make up matches
her blue waistcoat to draw the attention onto her. Everything
she wears and does in this picture is very loud, as is her
personality and music so it represents her very well. Her lips
are slightly parted and she’s giving the audience direct eye
contact whilst touching her neck to give a sexy vibe to the
picture.
